Docs Show Obama Admin Stalled New Regulations Until After Voters Went To Polls

Posted by Brian
New rules on the environment, health care, and worker safety were held up by the Obama White House, ostensibly so they could not become issues during the 2012 Presidential campaign.
The Center for Effective Government's  Ronald White said that the White House's regulatory review process was "particularly egregious" the last two years, saying there was “overt manipulation of the regulatory review process by a small White House office”.
Translation: "We don't want any controversies during the campaign, so we are going to deny or delay any new rules and regulations until after we have fooled the voters".
Even though the Obama White House claims the decisions were not political (A lie - everything is political with Obama), seven current and former White House officials told the Washington Post that the motives behind the decisions were absolutely political.
Deceiving the voters for political reasons - must be more of Obama's "Most transparent administration in history" pledge.

White House delayed enacting rules ahead of 2012 election to avoid controversy
By Juliet Eilperin, Published: December 14

The White House systematically delayed enacting a series of rules on the environment, worker safety and health care to prevent them from becoming points of contention before the 2012 election, according to documents and interviews with current and former administration officials.

Some agency officials were instructed to hold off submitting proposals to the White House for up to a year to ensure that they would not be issued before voters went to the polls, the current and former officials said.

Americans' and GOP Being Played by Obama on Sequestration

The American Public is being Duped! The Sequester is the Least of Our Problems!
Everyone is all in a tizzy over the upcoming sequestration.  Massive cuts to the military, border control, the FBI, federal prosecutors, transportation, education (every good liberal plan always has to be about how it hurts the children), and a host of other things are being thrown around.  Make no mistake, Obama will allow the cuts to unfold, and then promptly blame the Republicans for all of it.  The whole thing is political gamesmanship meant to destroy the GOP, and Obama is light years ahead of GOP leaders Boehner, Cantor, and the rest of this feckless bunch.

Keep in mind also, that we are talking about $85 Billion in so-called "cuts". This represents about 2% of the overall federal budget.  It wasn't that long ago that the Federal Government was able to "find" $60 Billion overnight for Hurricane Sandy Relief, which was loaded with pork-barrel spending having nothing to do with "relief" (Link).  You know? The one "Krispy Kreme" Christie squealed (Link) about like a stuck pig? But yet, they can't find $85B worth of waste in the tangled bureaucracy of D.C. to avoid these automatic cuts?

Of course, the cuts won't come from non-essential services, or those mandated by the Constitution to be the primary purpose of the Federal government.  No, instead our elected officials will continue to fund things like paying senior citizens $1.2 million to play video games, so we can study their effect on them.(link) Then there is the essential service of spending $2.2 Billion a year to provide free cell phones to people, because we all know that having a cell phone has now been reclassified as a basic human right. How about $4 million to build the IRS its own TV studio?  Who could oppose that essential spending? Of course, we all know that it is essential that the government provide all-expense paid trips to federal employees for conferences in Las Vegas and Hawaii at a cool million dollars a pop.

I can think of aanother quick way to save money right off of the top.  How about Barack Obama cuts the number of vacations, golf trips, and other non-essential trips he takes by half.  This would save $700 MILLION per year of the estimated $1.4 BILLION (link) he and his family currently cost.  (In contrast, England's Royal Family cost the British $60 million a year.) He might even be able to save more if he can convince Michelle to actually ride on the same plane as him, instead of taking earlier flights when he is held up by actually performing Presidential duties.  I know its a huge sacrifice for her to make, but in the interest of actually appearing that she gives a crap about the rest of the serfs around the country, this might be a nice gesture.

Of course, none of this is going to happen.  The whole sequester song-and-dance act is not about coming up with budget solutions, else Harry Reid would have brought a budget to the Senate floor at least once during the last 4 years, as he is required by law to do. But, why worry about the law when the whole purpose is to create a fiscal crisis and blame it on the Republicans?

Also keep in mind that the sequester is the idea of the Obama White House, which he now blames on the GOP.  (Link) Let's be clear.  Obama is lying!  The Washington Post, which is liberal, gives Obama "Four Pinocchio's" out of four on his claim.

Back in July of 2011, White House national economic Director Jack Sperling said that the White House proposed the idea of the sequester. It was then brought to Senate Majority Leader Reid, who it was said looked like he wanted to "throw up" when he was first  told.  They then explained to him that it would work because they "would design it so that half the threatened cuts would be from the Defense Department….The idea was to make all of the threatened cuts so unthinkable and onerous that the supercommittee (tasked with making additional cuts) would do its work and come up with its own deficit reduction plan".

Remember back in 2011when President Obama supported the sequester cuts?  Now, on February 19, 2013, he gives a speech on how devastating they will be.

The sequestration is a political calculation, not an economic solution, perpetrated by, and being carried out by, the White House, for two years. It is a plan to corner Republicans, not to cut spending, but to allow Obama and the Democrats to continue spending at unsustainable rates (GAO analysis, not mine) for the foreseeable future.  The Republican leadership, under Boehner, who moronically signed onto the plan only weeks after the original proposal, is too stupid to explain it to the American people. Furthermore, the mainstream media is complicit in furthering the propaganda from Obama and the Democrats in convincing the American people that this is a Republican plan, and that it is their fault.  Worse, most Americans are completely unaware of the coming economic collapse being purposefully driven by this Administration, statist Democrats, and big government Republican leadership, because of the media's total dereliction in providing people actual facts, choosing instead to provide White House talking points  in print ond on the "news" programming.

Sadly, if there is not one person, Republican or Democrat, who is willing to stand up to Obama and the White House and put a halt to his agenda and his spending, the sequestration will be nothing compared to the economic disaster that is looming in the near future.

What Difference Does it Make? "Benghazi" Hillary to Run in 2016, says Donor

Posted by Brian
A wealth Greek donor says that Bill "BJ" Clinton told him that Hillary Clinton is definitely running for President in 2016.
Well, Hillary of the loose fitting pantsuit, I will make it my mission to remind people regularly that your "3 AM phone call" came, and you were AWOL while 4 Americans died in Benghazi.  You and the man-child Barack Obama failed miserably.  Nobody seems to know where you were during the eight hours and two attacks in which fellow Americans were fighting for their lives and dying.  We do know that Obama was making a non-urgent one-hour phone call to the Prime Minister of Israel during the eight hours in question.  I presume that for the other seven hours he was packing his suitcase, and resting up for his fundraiser in Las Vegas the following day.
You remember the 3 AM phone call don't you? The one where you asked the American people who they trusted more, you or Barack Obama, when crisis erupted in the middle of the night and American lives were at risk?  The one that did come, and both you AND Barack Obama were AWOL for over eight hours while Ambassador Chris Stevens was being dragged through the streets of Benghazi, and three other Americans were killed, including two Navy SEAL's.

What has been your response to their deaths? Sadness? Genuine sympathy for their families?  No.  It was a defiant and angry "What difference does it make"!

Hmmm...What difference does it make.  WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?!  About WHAT!? Four dead Americans? Or that you, and the Administration, lied to the American people, right out of the box, that this was a protest about a YouTube video that got violent? That Ambassador Stevens and others had asked on more than one occasion for beefed up security, and were ignored? Maybe it was that you told the father of the Navy SEAL (link) that we'd get the jihadists, and that we are going to "punish the filmmaker". Congratulations Hillary! You kept your promise about punishing the man who made the amateurish Mohammed movie which played the Administration's fictitious role in the attack.
You, as your boss Obama, and your husband Bill, have the ability of every other psychopath out there - to look the American people squarely in the eye, and lie without any effort.  This alone should disqualify you.
I guess we'll see if anyone in the GOP has the cajones to tear into her as a Presidential candidate, or if they treat her as a female Presidential candidate.
Remember folks, she puts her pants on one leg at time, just like every other guy.

Hillary WILL run in 2016, claims wealthy Greek donor (who says Bill told him)
By LESLIE LARSON PUBLISHED: 16:24 EST, 13 February 2013 | UPDATED: 07:57 EST, 14 February 2013

A wealthy Democratic donor is fanning the flames of speculation that Hillary Clinton is indeed running for president.
Sacramento developer Angelo Tsakopoulos was reported to have said Bill Clinton has confirmed that the former Secretary of State will make a bid for the White House again.
The millionaire is said to have told the Greek Reporter that Clinton's husband revealed his wife's political ambition, as the power couple gear up for a 2016 race.

"Holy Mother" Michelle Obama Says Church Is Best Place to Talk Politics

Posted by Brian
What about the "separation of church and state" liberals are always droning on about?

More proof that Democrats and the Obama campaign are worried about November. Isn't it amazing that when the libs get in political trouble with the "bitter clingers", they suddenly get religion!

Michelle Obama: There is ‘No Place Better’ Than Church to Talk About Political Issues By Jon Street July 2, 2012

(CNSNews.com) – There is no better place than church to talk about political issues because they are ultimately moral issues, First Lady Michelle Obama told a church gathering on Thursday.

“To anyone who says that church is no place to talk about these issues, you tell them there is no place better – no place better,” Obama told the African Methodist Episcopal Church’s 49th general conference, held in in Nashville, Tenn.

ND Voting To Eliminate Property Tax: Unions, Chamber Of Commerce Oppose

N. Dakota Homemaker: "We are all renters. None of us are homeowners."

Like many other Americans, North Dakota residents are fed up with excessive taxation, and the financial insecurities and strains associated with it.

There are many North Dakotans' on both sides of the political aisle who are opposed to this measure, but their concerns only address the financial strain that this may, or may not place on the state.  There is no consideration given to the root causes of WHY many of their residents support this bill.  As true politicians they see things through the prism of how taxes, laws, and policies affect the government, but completely miss the boat as to how those same things affect the average person trying to put food on the table, pay the utilities, pay the mortgage, make the car note, ad infinitum.  All this while watching the price for goods and services continue to increase, leaving less and less of a safety net.  Finally, even after supplying for their family, taxes have to be paid. And with the economy, inflation, fuel prices, et al, that margin of error is becoming increasingly narrow, and in some cases non-existent.

Governor:  "It's mind-boggling, really."
While this measure will probably fail, those politicians who are besides themselves, confused that this is even an issue, would do well to challenge themselves, and dig a little deeper into what they have adopted as sacred cows.  Politics and life don't occur in a vacuum, and these types of things don't just well up from a contented electorate on their own.  Dissatisfaction in the process, our leaders, and a widespread perception that our voices are not being heard, result in these types of grassroots movement.

This issue, and others like it, will not fade away until our leaders acknowledge and address the underlying economic woes, and the real perception of a tyrannical government trampling the rights of its citizens under the guise of fairness and compassion for the less fortunate.  Meanwhile, these policies meant to spread fairness are only spreading the misery equally.

In the not-too-distant past, the people resigned themselves to the idea that this is just how it is, and felt powerless to do anything about it.  The Tea Party changed that perception, and people are now awake and engaged, willing to do something about it.

A politicians worst nightmare.

North Dakota Considers Eliminating Property Tax

By MONICA DAVEY Published: June 11, 2012

BISMARCK, N.D. — Since Californians shrank their property taxes more than three decades ago by passing Proposition 13, people around the nation have echoed their dismay over such levies, putting forth plans to even them, simplify them, cap them, slash them. In an election here on Tuesday, residents of North Dakota will consider a measure that reaches far beyond any of that — one that abolishes the property tax entirely.

Trayvon Martin Had THC in System On Night of Shooting

Posted by Brian
Well, it seems the more evidence that comes out in this case, the more it becomes likely that the drive-by media may be exactly 180 degrees off in their initial knee-jerk, race-baiting, reporting on this case.

By the way, for the mainstream media: Not only is George Zimmerman half latino, his grandfather was black, which makes him more black, than Elizabeth Warren is Indian.

Cops, Witnesses Back Up George Zimmerman's Version of Trayvon Martin Shooting
By MATT GUTMAN (@mattgutmanABC) , SENI TIENABESO (@senijr_abc) and COLLEEN CURRY May 17, 2012

Two police reports written the night that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin said that Zimmerman had a bloody face and nose, according to police reports made public today.

The reports also note that two witness accounts appear to back up Zimmerman's version of what happened when they describe a man on his back with another person wearing a hoodie straddling him and throwing punches.

When they published their revealing book last August about the nation’s fight against terrorism, the authors, two New York Times national security reporters, immediately felt heat from the Pentagon for dishing too much operational info about the killing of Osama bin Laden.

“I was stopped by a very senior officer in the special operations community who basically wanted to rip my lungs out,” said Thom Shanker, who co-authored “Counterstrike: The Untold Story of America's Secret Campaign Against Al Qaeda,” with Eric Schmitt.

Hurricane Irene and Wall Street The Politics of Intimidation

Interesting take on how oil is traded, what influences the price, and how the media never seem to get it right, all against the backdrop of Hurricane Irene. Not so sure about his seeming support of the Dodd/Frank Bill. Any bill with their names on it portends disaster for danger for the American taxpayer.

h/t Living The Dream
Thanks to Laura for the inspiration.
Whether it's fair for giant hedge funds and other speculators to influence the price of commodities is a complicated question, which is probably why it's so rarely addressed in the media. It's certainly not fair if one or more parties can exercise enough influence to manipulate the market. That's why Congress tried to make this type of trading more transparent with last year's Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
But markets as big as the oil market aren't easy to manipulate. And having free and open markets is the core of capitalism. Not only is having speculators in the market fair, it's essential. Because by helping to establish clearing prices, speculators actually keep the supply of oil flowing.
Think of it this way. When speculators buy, they drive up the cost of oil. That, in turn, provides an incentive for Big Oil to go out and dig it out of the ground. When Big Oil digs more than is needed, those same speculators sell oil, forcing prices down.
In short, speculators help keep markets in balance -- as long as the trades they're making are transparent and they don't have the ability to manipulate prices, they're a healthy addition.
So the next time you hear some talking head on the evening news tell you that oil prices are higher because of unrest in the middle east or elsewhere, remember: That's not why oil prices went up. They went up because people on a trading floor decided that for whatever reason, they were willing to bet prices were heading higher, and they wanted a piece of the action.
Of course, even if these markets are ultimately fair, and you have the means to hedge against higher prices by buying stocks or commodities, the vast majority of Americans don't. What do we say to the people who are now cutting back on groceries so they can pay for the gas to get to work?
Most Americans are way more interested in what they can do to keep their Homes rather than what they can do about Oil and Gas prices at this point.

DNC Chairwoman Wasserman-Schultz Tries To Put Gag On Republican Jewish Coalition

Posted by Brian
Wasserman-Schultz, perhaps an even bigger partisan hack than former DNC Chair Howard Dean (if that's possible), showed her political ass in a meeting with Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.  Clearly she is desperate in trying to effectively stifle debate in the Jewish community, as the Obama Administration and many in the Democrat leadership have a lukewarm, if not outright hostile, relationship with Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu.  She must know that sooner or later, many in the Jewish community are no longer going to give blind allegiance to a party that continues to spit in the eye of Israel and the American Jewish community.

DNC chair, Wasserman Schultz, tries to use Netanyahu as political human shield

By: MataHarley

In an unbelievably tactless act, DNC Chairwoman, Rep Debbie Wasserman-Schultz used a joint delegates meeting between Israeli PM, Benjamin Netanhayu, and the Republican Jewish Coalition and the National Jewish Democratic Council as a human shield for political campaigning in the upcoming Presidential election. With the PM present, Wasserman Schultz point blank asked the RJC to “pledge” they would refrain from using Israel as a campaign issue. Matt Brooks, RJC executive director, likened it to hijacking “these meeting in order to, in front of the prime minister, put a gag order in effect to prevent us from speaking out on Israel.”

It is highly unusual for a sitting DNC chair to try to use a foreign prime minister to pressure another political group to act in a way that she deems appropriate. But this seems to have been what happened yesterday.

Asked about Netanyahu’s reaction, Brooks said Netanyahu was “clearly uncomfortable and at one point said, ‘do you guys want me to leave the room and give you guys some privacy?’”

The Feckless GOP House Leadership

While Congress was patting itself on the back for passing a continuing resolution, keeping the government steaming ahead, the debt continues to rise at unprecedented levels.  The Republican House leadership of John Boehner and Eric Cantor has proven to be as impotent as any in recent memory.  Even with the majority, they have become the Boehner Waffle House (h/t to Mark Levin). After having promised to cut spending by $100 Billion, they retreated to $61 Billion, and now $6 Billion. Excuse me if I'm not impressed with leadership(?) that is impressed with themselves over cutting spending from the current $3.7 Trillion budget by less than 1%.  Instead of standing their ground, the feckless GOP leadership is attacking the Tea Partiers as "right-wing extremists".  Apparently, calling for responsibility in spending and demanding that our representatives return to following the Constitution is now considered extremist.
Saying the right thing at election time is not going to cut it anymore.  These establishment Republicans are showing their true colors when it counts most - when the opportunity to really hold the line against spending and ObamaCare presents itself, they go into full retreat mode. This will be remembered on primary day and general election day.  When the Tea Partiers show up again in 2012 and sweep out even more of the RINO's and usher in another wave of conservatives, the weepy Boehner can go on T.V. again and give another of his emotional speeches.  This time he can cry me a river.

U.S. Debt Jumped $72 Billion Same Day U.S. House Voted to Cut Spending $6 Billion

Wednesday, March 16, 2011
By Terence P. Jeffrey

(CNSNews.com) - The national debt jumped by $72 billion on Tuesday even as the Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution to fund the government for just three weeks that will cut $6 billion from government spending.

If Congress were to cut $6 billion every three weeks for the next 36 weeks, it would manage to save between now and late November as much money as the Treasury added to the nation’s net debt during just the business hours of Tuesday, March 15.

Media Begins Push For Obama 2nd Term

Posted by Brian
The Media Push ForThe "Anointed" One

Though many in the media are not completely happy with "the anointed one", believing he has not been liberal enough (which speaks volumes), they would rather eat broken glass than see a Republican get into office. Thus, we are already starting to see stories and polls of Barack Obama rising from the ashes of the 2010 mid-term "shellacking" that his party took.
There is plenty in this piece to be critical of, but I will comment on only a few of the "12 Reasons" stated:

#2 - The authors admit that the mainstream press is biased for this President, speaking of the "gentle treatment" he gets.  Keep this in mind when you read all of the puff pieces on him over the next twenty-one-plus months.

#5 - Obama's Charm? While it was certainly a factor in 2008, much of his initial "wow factor" has evaporated.  There are still going to be some that will fall for his canned lines, his speech cadence, and his on-cue smile, but many more have become disilluioned by his "promises", and now see him through a more jaded lens.

#6 - The authors are just downright dishonest on reason #6.  Their claim that the economy is improving, using the upswing in the stock market as an example, is naive. At best, the economy is stagnant.  Inflation is cutting into people's savings and businesses are still laying people off.  They also say that unemployment has dropped, completely ignoring that people have dropped off the unemployment rolls, not because they have found employment, but because they have exhausted all of their benefits, or have given up altogether and have entered the welfare rolls - which are not counted as part of the unemployment numbers.

#8 - Obama the Moderate?  How long will the media be able to sell this line? If they consider him a moderate, what must that say about the press in this country?  Simply pointing out on a continuous basis the radical leftists in his inner circle, both current and former (Van Jones, anyone?), the radical agenda he has already shoved down the throats of the American public, and his "Green" agenda which he has yet to implement, is going to make it more difficult for him to stay focused and on-message than in 2008.

Notice also, that the media is starting to run these polls and puff pieces before they even know who is going to be running, or who will be the nominee.  The only thing certain  is that the media will run positive pieces on who they want to run against Obama, quoting RINO Republicans to bolster their case.   Once that person gets the nomination though, the media will "discover" how "radical" they are and savage them in both news and opinion pages across the country right up to the day of the election.  The difference is that this time we already see it coming.

12 Reasons Obama Wins in 2012

by Mark McKinnon, Myra Adams

The economy’s rebounding, his approval ratings are ticking up, and the GOP field is a mess. Mark McKinnon and Myra Adams on the president’s odds of a return ticket to the White House.

President Obama’s poll ratings are climbing. And the online prediction market Intrade has Obama at a 58.9 percent chance of winning a second term. Though November 2012 is light years away in political time, as Team Obama regroups in Chicago, they should be optimistic about their reelection prospects. Here are 12 reasons why:

1. Power of Incumbency
In the last 56 U.S. presidential elections, 31 have involved incumbents; 21 of those candidates have won more than one term. Based on these historical odds, Obama has a better-than-67-percent chance of winning reelection. In 2004, voters were not happy with the economy, the Iraq War or President Bush generally, and still he was reelected.

2. Love Story Continues

Though the mainstream media is now sometimes critical of President Obama, he has never faced the extreme 24-hour-a-day derangement that has plagued other recent presidents and potential candidates-to-be. This gentle treatment is worth millions to a campaign.

Memorial or Rally?

Posted by Brian
I went to a memorial service and all I got was this lousy tee shirt!
Who's brilliant idea was it make tee shirts and turn what should have been a reflective memorial service into something that resembled a political rally.  Though the President's tone and message were proper, the crownd was over the top.  Hoots and hollers were throughout the speech.  The audience members acted at times as if they were at a Lollapalooza festival instead of a memorial service to remember the six people who were gunned down on their streets by a crazed gunman.

While I appreciate the President callig for toning down the rhetoric, ("what we cannot do is use this tragedy as one more occasion to turn on each other"), I can't help but wonder where those words have been prior to the speech.  The media and politicians have been savaging Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, talk radio, the Tea Party, and conservatives since shortly after the shooting right up to last night's speech, a full four days, and the President has been silent.  So, while I appreciate him finally speaking out on it, it came out as more of an applause line because of his lateness to the issue.  The audience, in their obliviousness to the decorum of the event, predictably stood and cheered.
The thing that really bothers me about all of this hysteria of "dangerous rhetoric" is that it appears to me to be an attempt by many of those on the left to squelch criticism of our elected officials and our government. We have the  First Amendment exactly for that purpose.  It is so the press and the people are not fearful of speaking out against their government and its officials.  Keep an eye on what legislation is going to be presented, and the media spin on things such as the "Fairness Doctrine" for talk radio, banning certain symbols and metaphors, and the predictable calls for more gun control.  It could be a very interesting and entertaining 112th Congress.

In fact, you can tell that this sort of thing isn’t his forte: As thumbnail psychoanalyses of political opponents go, it’s one of the lamest examples I’ve ever heard.

In fairness, the man’s hurting right now after being unceremoniously dumped back into the House minority. And look on the bright side: A year ago, their catch-all explanation for tea party motivations was racism. (For Howard Dean, it still is.) Now, per Hoyer, it’s upgraded to family dysfunction, a condition that’s downright sympathetic. You’re not evil anymore! You’re just … sad. Aw:  READ MORE HERE--->
