Continuing her world "I'm just like you" tour, Michelle Obama, speaking to a group of Senegalese children, compared her childhood to that of the Senegalese children she was speaking to.
With all due respect Michelle, your childhood was nothing like it is for the children of Senegal, where the average annual family income is
about $1800 USD, unemployment approaches 50%, and the right to own property is tenuous at best, with inconsistent court rulings and corruption in the legal system.
No matter how ashamed FLOTUS has been of her country, the opportunities afforded her have been well above that of the vast majority of people in other parts of the world. To equate her experience with theirs is merely insulting and embarrassing. She can get away with saying something like this because most Americans are completely clueless to what real poverty is. I can assure you that it doesn't include cell phones and flat-screen televisions.
As with her ridiculous statement in Ireland,
saying "It is good to be home", Michelle and Barack Obama continue to illustrate for everyone just how out-of-touch they are with the common folk, and the disdain they hold for them. Even some of he Irish didn't buy the "aw shucks" Michelle pandering, with
Irish Parliament member Clare Daly calling Michelle out for calling Ireland "home", “a country that she’s been in less than a week which her husband has tenuous ties to”, as well as saying Barack Obama must be going "for hypocrite of the century award".
Perhaps the amount of time (and money) Michelle spends jet-setting around the world, being on vacation has become more "home" to her than in the official White House living quarters. Whatever the case, Michelle and Barack Obama's song-and-dance act is playing as well in other countries as it has played for them with the sycophants in this country.
Just an embarrassment!
Michelle Obama Likens Her Upbringing to Senegalese Children's

In Dakar, Senegal, speaking at the Martin Luther King Middle School, First Lady Michelle Obama likened her upbringing to the upbringing of the Senegalese children at the school. Obama told the children of her "experience," and how it was similar to theirs.
"I know that what you all are doing here isn’t always easy," the first lady said to applause. "I know that some of you may be the first in your families to attend a school like Martin Luther King, so there might be people at home who don’t quite understand what you’re going through as you work to succeed here. And I know that for some of you, just sitting in these classrooms each day requires great sacrifices by your families."
"I know a little bit about this from my own experience. See, like many of you, I didn’t grow up in a family with a lot of money. My parents had to work hard every day to support us, so they never had the chance to get the kind of education they wanted for themselves. But they had big dreams for me. And more than anything in the world, they wanted me to graduate from secondary school and attend a university. So they, too, made tremendous sacrifices to make that dream come true," the first lady continued.
