Wasserman-Schultz BLAMES Tea Party For Tucson Tragedy

DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, has a habit of making some of the most outrageous and despicable statements ever uttered by any politician that I have ever seen. True to form, she doesn't disappoint in this townhall, essentially blaming the Tea Party for the shooting of Gabriel Giffords, and a breakdown of civil discourse in politics. The shooting of Giffords was certainly tragic, but as we have learned, her shooter was not a member of, or even remotely connected to the Tea Party. He was a homicidal lunatic who more closely resembled some of the human debris camping out with the Occupy Wall Street crowd in Zucotti Park.  She goes on to talk of how hard Obama has tried to get along with Republicans, which is laugable, considering his "violent" rhetoric of telling supporters to "get in their faces", or "they bring a knife, we bring a gun".
I, for one, am getting pretty damn tired of some of these political hacks who, because they use a seemingly civil tone, go into a town hall setting and spray bullets all over the place, metaphorically speaking, with virtually no media coverage of the incendiary crap that comes out of the mouth of someone like Wasserman-Schultz. Be assured though that if Allen West criticizes her for her remarks, he will be excoriated unmercifully in the press for his intolerance and labeled a misogynist.
Wasserman-Schultz is a disgrace.

Thomas Jefferson: John Adams Is A Hermaphrodite

Keep Political Discourse In The Context Of History
h/t to NewBusters

Glenn Beck, on the Today Show with Meredith Vierra, debunks the charge that heated or violent political rhetoric contributed to the shooting in Tuscon - it was caused by the individual who committed the crime.
http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/checker.aspx?v=hd6UaGeuZu

In a beautiful exchange, he points out that Thomas Jefferson called John Adams a "hermaphrodite", and that Adams responded by telling people that "their children would be raped and their towns burned" if Jefferson became President. Of course, none of this happened.  It was in the context of very graphic political discourse during a campaign.  Today I hear, from the media mostly, that the political rhetoric has never been worse.  Based on the exchange between Jefferson and Adams, they might want to rethink that.

Communist Party Joins The Giffords Fray - Blames Usual Suspects, Adds Arpaio

The Communist Party USA has thrown its hat into the ring, releasing a statement on their website blaming the shooting of Rep. Giffords on Sarah Palin, the Tea party et.al., but now adding a new name to those who are "responsible" for this tragedy - Maricopa Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  Pretty interesting coming from a group that that supports an ideology that is responsible for the murder of millions of people around the globe, and the internment of millions more. - Brian
Communist Party mourns victims in AZ shooting; Decries incitement
by: Communist Party USA

January 9 2011

Saturday, Jan 8, US Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Federal Judge John Roll and many others, including a nine-year-old girl were shot during the congresswoman's constituency meeting at a Tucson, Ariz. Safeway grocery store parking lot. As of Sunday morning six have been reported killed, including Judge Roll, and 12 wounded, including Rep. Giffords, who was shot in the head and is expected to survive.

In no uncertain terms, the Communist Party USA strongly and unequivocally condemns this outrageous act of violence. We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the victims. We hope for full recoveries for all the wounded, including Rep. Giffords.

It is reported that law enforcement has in custody a 22-year-old white man, Jared Lee Loughner, as the accused shooter. It is not clear whether the shooter acted alone or with accomplices.

Many are dubbing this a tragedy, which undoubtedly it is. But it doesn't end there.

While we do not yet know the motivation of the crime...READ MORE HERE--->

Pelosi: Tuscon Murders Were A Tragic "Accident"

Just when I thought that Nancy Pelosi couldn't top her own stupidity ("we need to pass the bill so you can find out what's in it"), she calls the massacre in Tuscon a "tragic accident". This woman's gray matter is on life support and someone cut off the oxygen.

Sadly, we grieve on two levels: for the victims of a deranged and damnable killer, and for a nation wounded by progressive ideas
Nancy Pelosi calls Tucson murders an “accident.”
By Greg Halvorson Thursday, January 13, 2011

Lord in Heaven, you can’t make this up. Yesterday, on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, deposed Speaker, Nancy Pelosi (D-Mars), called the deliberate and premeditated killing of six people – the Tucson massacre – an “accident.” Specifically, Madame said, quote:

“This resolution is a fitting tribute.  It is a great resolution.  Please, read it again and again.  Carry those names in your heart.  Remember, each of these people because, again, a tragic accident took lives, wounded people in the expression of ideas.”

Is AZ Sherriff Damaging Prosecution's Case?

Posted by Brian
I posted on Tuesday that if I were the Defense Attorney for Jared Loughner, I would be thanking my lucky stars for Pima County Sheriff Dupnik in helping me set up my defense. Finally, a former Judge comes out and says that he is damaging the prosecution every time he opens his mouth.  More damaging, he asks what the Sheriff may be hiding, to come out so strong with absolutely no evidence to back up his assertions.  The plot thickens.

Sheriff Dupnik Of Pima County
Former Judge to AZ Sheriff: ‘Shut Up Before You Do Any More Damage to the Prosecution’s Case’
Wednesday, January 12, 2011
By Nicholas Ballasy

(CNSNews.com) - Rep. Louis Gohmert (R.-Texas), a former prosecutor and judge and a current member of the House Judiciary Committee, is offering some advice to Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, who has gained national attention since Saturday for his suggestions that radio and television talk shows were somehow responsible for the shooting attack in Tucson that took the lives of 6 people and wounded 14 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Says Rep. Gohmert to the sheriff: “Shut up before you do any more damage to the prosecution’s case.”

At the Capitol on Wednesday, Gohmert told CNSNews.com, “As far as advice for the sheriff, you know, he’s an elected official. He’s an American. He’s not prohibited by law from making the ridiculous statements that he has that do more to help the defendant than they do anyone else, including the victims. And so, I know as a former prosecutor, my advice to the sheriff would be to shut up before you do any more damage to the prosecution’s case.”

Memorial or Rally?

Posted by Brian
I went to a memorial service and all I got was this lousy tee shirt!
Who's brilliant idea was it make tee shirts and turn what should have been a reflective memorial service into something that resembled a political rally.  Though the President's tone and message were proper, the crownd was over the top.  Hoots and hollers were throughout the speech.  The audience members acted at times as if they were at a Lollapalooza festival instead of a memorial service to remember the six people who were gunned down on their streets by a crazed gunman.

While I appreciate the President callig for toning down the rhetoric, ("what we cannot do is use this tragedy as one more occasion to turn on each other"), I can't help but wonder where those words have been prior to the speech.  The media and politicians have been savaging Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, talk radio, the Tea Party, and conservatives since shortly after the shooting right up to last night's speech, a full four days, and the President has been silent.  So, while I appreciate him finally speaking out on it, it came out as more of an applause line because of his lateness to the issue.  The audience, in their obliviousness to the decorum of the event, predictably stood and cheered.
The thing that really bothers me about all of this hysteria of "dangerous rhetoric" is that it appears to me to be an attempt by many of those on the left to squelch criticism of our elected officials and our government. We have the  First Amendment exactly for that purpose.  It is so the press and the people are not fearful of speaking out against their government and its officials.  Keep an eye on what legislation is going to be presented, and the media spin on things such as the "Fairness Doctrine" for talk radio, banning certain symbols and metaphors, and the predictable calls for more gun control.  It could be a very interesting and entertaining 112th Congress.

Did Barack Obama’s Violent Rhetoric Inspire Mass Murder In Arizona?
By Gary P Jackson

Well, using the very same standard the left wing, and their corrupt media partners have used to smear and slander Sarah Palin, all evidence says yes, Barack Obama may have very well inspired radical Marxist Jared Lee Loughner to commit mass murder.

As we reported earlier, Loughner has been fixated on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, one of the many victims, since at least 2007, long before the Tea Party was formed, or anyone knew who the hell Sarah Palin was.

Of course, seeing as how Loughner is against everything Sarah Palin and the Tea Party stand for, it’s highly unlikely he would have sought them out for inspiration anyway.

No, it’s more likely Jared Lee Loughner would be inspired by a fellow traveler, and a fellow Marxist, like Barack Obama.

Jim Hoft over at Gateway Pundit has compiled a short list of Obama’s “greatest hits” his strongest and most violent rhetoric: READ MORE HERE--->

Julian Assange: Gabrielle Giffords Parallels Made Over 'Violent Rhetoric'

First Posted: 01-11-11 10:42 AM Updated: 01-11-11 10:53 AM

Though he came across more strident than sympathetic, Julian Assange joined the ranks of public officials to offer words over the grisly Arizona shooting that left six dead and Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in critical condition.

In a statement issued ahead of Assange's Tuesday court hearing in London, where he is fighting extradition to Sweden on rape charges, the WikiLeaks founder drew parallels between his own experience and that of Giffords, whose shooting launched a nationwide debate over the toxic tone of U.S. political discourse, the Associated Press is reporting.

Citing "unprecedented violent rhetoric by U.S. prominent media personalities," Assange warned similar attacks on other officials like himself could await, as such open provocation could potentially "inflame...unbalanced personalities," an indirect reference to 22-year-old suspect Jared Lee Loughner.

The Telegraph quotes Assange's statement as follows:  READ MORE HERE--->

Is the Giffords Media Coverage About Rhetoric or Ratings?

Stu Blog: The one thing the media can’t stand to tell you about Gabrielle Giffords

Monday, Jan 10, 2011 at 4:08 PM EST

The shooting of Gabrielle Giffords was, as we all know, tragic and horrifying. We all feel for her family, along with the other victims, and denounce this idiotic violence.

Watching the coverage of the story this weekend was truly perplexing. The left immediately jumped to blame the right before we even knew he name of the shooter. The right correctly defended itself pointing out that most of his rhetoric was from the left. At moments of attempted fairness, both sides say that they have some responsibility for angry rhetoric. The media, which is forever trying to elevate itself above that which it covers, claims that one thing we can all agree on is that there is a problem with the discourse in this country.

However, the one thing that no one seems to want to talk about is that after looking at the gunman and his ramblings, I don’t see how a discussion about rhetoric applies at all.

The truth is, unless there are a lot of new facts to come that we don’t know about yet, this shooting says absolutely nothing about our political discourse. Nothing. In fact, it says absolutely nothing about society as a whole. Zero.  READ MORE HERE--->

Why is the country so ‘angry’?

Posted on January 10, 2011 at 3:56pm by Meredith Jessup

Let me preface this post by saying that Saturday’s shooting was absolutely inexcusable and no one — no matter how “angry” or “disturbed” they are — has the right to try and take another person’s life.

That being said, it‘s become apparent that there’s an underlying narrative taking shape that the whim of a madman was politically motivated and a number of people — including Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik — are blaming their own “angry” countrymen for “inciting violence.” While I dismiss the notion that Saturday’s tragic shooting was politically motivated (Jared Loughner doesn’t seem to have a grasp on reality, let alone politics), I can’t sit idly by and watch as some individuals baselessly point the finger of fault at their neighbors.

I take particular issue with Sheriff Dupnik who has continually stepped outside the boundaries of his professional jurisdiction and irresponsibly used his public position as an officer of the law to attack his political opponents through this horrific tragedy. READ MORE HERE--->

2nd Amendment Alert! Dems Pushing New Gun Control Legislation

Posted by Brian
It took 48 hours.  Two days for the liberals to use the shooting in Tuscon as an excuse to put tighter restrictions on gun laws.  This was so predictable.  Time to saddle up and start lobbying Congress to kill this bill.  The Democrats are the masters of incrementalism.  This is one more step to banning guns, and this event is custom ordered for them to take advantage of the act of a deranged person to cram through one more thing to weaken the 2nd Amendment.  Always watch the other hand.

Lautenberg to reintroduce gun-ban bill

By Daniel Strauss - 01/10/11 05:52 PM ET

One of the Senate's most outspoken advocates of tighter gun restrictions said he plans to introduce language banning the type of supplemented gun clips that the shooter in Arizona used on Saturday.

Limbaugh Unloads On Media Coverage Of Shooting

An Embarrassment for the Media and the Sick, Desperate American Left
Transcript From "The Rush Limbaugh Show"
What an embarrassing weekend it has been for the media. I mean, utterly, childishly, silly embarrassing. I knew it was going to happen the minute I heard about the shooting. I got on the horn with some people, said, "You wait. It's in the template. It's gonna follow." So predictable, so childish, so immature, and it has led to a number of people making abject fools of themselves. The Sheriff of Pima County has made a fool of himself. I don't know if he knows it yet or not. Most in the State-Controlled Media, the Drive-By Media, are illustrating why we call them "the Drive-By Media." They are literally making fools of themselves to take an incident like this and to try to turn it into a political advantage by accusing people that have nothing whatsoever to do with this sordid, unfortunate event, as accomplices to murder. It's silly on its face.

It is beneath the people who made the attempt, but it's who they are. Now, what they've done is essentially take aim at a majority of the people in this country. A majority of the people in this country identify more with the Tea Party movement than with the Democrat Party today, with liberalism. This is not 1988. This is not 1993 when this program was the only New Media out there and they still had the ability to control the message; they had the ability to suppress the news they didn't want anybody to hear about. They had, frankly, total control over what was news, what wasn't news, and what was commentary on the news. And ever since they have lost that monopoly in the media, they have been their own version, to one degree or another, insane. Now, one of the first acts of insanity is to take an obviously deranged, insane, irrational kid and try to analyze him with sanity and with rationality.

Accused Tucson Shooter Jared Loughner Smirks in Court, Smiles for Mug Shot

Doctors 'Breathe Sigh of Relief' as Giffords Has No Significant Brain Swelling
By JESSICA HOPPER, EMILY FRIEDMAN and DESIREE ADIB

Jared Loughner, the man accused of the Tucson massacre that left six dead and injured 14 others, appeared in a packed courtroom today shackled and in khaki prison garb, appearing to smirk as he stood before the judge.

Federal officials released Loughner's mug shot, showing him smiling into the camera despite hints of a black eye.

"Yes, I am Jared Lee Loughner," said Loughner, with a freshly shaved head, when the Judge Lawrence Anderson asked him to confirm his identity.
