God Bless Our Men And Women Serving In Uniform This Christmas!

I feel humbled and blessed once again during this Christmas season, grateful to be able to spend time with my family, friends, and loved ones. I pray that each of us take the time to thank our men and women of the military, who afford us those blessings, as they fight and stand watch around the globe, voluntarily sacrificing time from their loved ones as they protect our freedom and security.
God Bless each and every one of you, and I pray that you all are brought home safely.

President and Mrs. Obama are planning a trip to sub-Saharan Africa later in the month, but the White House has scotched a plan to include a Tanzanian safari on the agenda after a reporter revealed that a team of snipers with high-powered military assault rifles would accompany him in the wild.

The Washington Post reported Thursday afternoon that the itinerary's dangers 'would have required the president’s special counterassault team to carry sniper rifles with high-caliber rounds that could neutralize cheetahs, lions or other animals if they became a threat.'

The newspaper based its report on a confidential planning document leaked from someone in the administration.

'But the White House canceled the safari Wednesday,' the report continued, 'after inquiries from The Post about the trip’s purpose and expense, according to a person familiar with the decision.'

Throughout his Presidency, President Barack Obama has managed to say the right things about our military men and women. He speaks of their bravery, character, sacrifice, and of the obligation of making sure that our active duty and veterans are rightfully cared for. That is, he says the right things. His actions, though, betray his words. They are hollow and disingenuous.

His latest betrayal of our fighting men and women is to cut the hot meals and sandwiches at midnight (midrats) for Marines at Camp Leatherneck in Afghanistan. For those coming off six and a half hours on patrol and those preparing to go out on patrol, starting today those men and women will be limited to breaking open an MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) pouch, usually reserved for quick bites out in the field.

As you can imagine, the decision is less-than-popular with the men and women on the ground in Afghanistan. As one Marine wrote to his wife at home:

"This boils my skin. One of my entire shifts will go 6.5 hours without a meal. If we need to cut back on money I could come up with 100 other places. Instead, we will target the biggest contributor to morale. I must be losing my mind. What is our senior leadership thinking? I just got back from flying my ass off and in a few days, I will not have a meal to replenish me after being away for over 9 hours.”

According to military brass, the move is part of the drawdown of troops from Afghanistan. What a steaming pantload! You don't cut meals for the troops, especially as their numbers are reduced!

Barack Obama has shown time and again his disdain for our military, and the men and women who serve. He is more than happy to use them for photo ops, but when it comes to really standing with them, he has been AWOL at every turn. Whether it be raising healthcare premiums for military (while leaving Union healthcare untouched)[Read article], labeling the terrorist attack on Fort Hood "workplace violence" (which denies disability benefits to the victims), failing to return salutes to Marines on Chopper One, relegating them to 'Boy Friday' status and having them hold his umbrella over his head (in which he even joked about it being a good photo op), to failing to ensure that 2012 election ballots were delivered to hundreds of thousands of military men and women in overseas deployments.

This President and his Administration have failed our brave fighting men and women at every turn.

Disgraceful.

Americans' and GOP Being Played by Obama on Sequestration

The American Public is being Duped! The Sequester is the Least of Our Problems!

Everyone is all in a tizzy over the upcoming sequestration. Massive cuts to the military, border control, the FBI, federal prosecutors, transportation, education (every good liberal plan always has to be about how it hurts the children), and a host of other things are being thrown around. Make no mistake, Obama will allow the cuts to unfold, and then promptly blame the Republicans for all of it. The whole thing is political gamesmanship meant to destroy the GOP, and Obama is light years ahead of GOP leaders Boehner, Cantor, and the rest of this feckless bunch.

Keep in mind also, that we are talking about $85 Billion in so-called "cuts". This represents about 2% of the overall federal budget. It wasn't that long ago that the Federal Government was able to "find" $60 Billion overnight for Hurricane Sandy Relief, which was loaded with pork-barrel spending having nothing to do with "relief" (Link). You know? The one "Krispy Kreme" Christie squealed (Link) about like a stuck pig? But yet, they can't find $85B worth of waste in the tangled bureaucracy of D.C. to avoid these automatic cuts?

Of course, the cuts won't come from non-essential services, or those mandated by the Constitution to be the primary purpose of the Federal government. No, instead our elected officials will continue to fund things like paying senior citizens $1.2 million to play video games, so we can study their effect on them.(link) Then there is the essential service of spending $2.2 Billion a year to provide free cell phones to people, because we all know that having a cell phone has now been reclassified as a basic human right. How about $4 million to build the IRS its own TV studio? Who could oppose that essential spending? Of course, we all know that it is essential that the government provide all-expense paid trips to federal employees for conferences in Las Vegas and Hawaii at a cool million dollars a pop.

I can think of aanother quick way to save money right off of the top. How about Barack Obama cuts the number of vacations, golf trips, and other non-essential trips he takes by half. This would save $700 MILLION per year of the estimated $1.4 BILLION (link) he and his family currently cost. (In contrast, England's Royal Family cost the British $60 million a year.) He might even be able to save more if he can convince Michelle to actually ride on the same plane as him, instead of taking earlier flights when he is held up by actually performing Presidential duties. I know its a huge sacrifice for her to make, but in the interest of actually appearing that she gives a crap about the rest of the serfs around the country, this might be a nice gesture.

Of course, none of this is going to happen. The whole sequester song-and-dance act is not about coming up with budget solutions, else Harry Reid would have brought a budget to the Senate floor at least once during the last 4 years, as he is required by law to do. But, why worry about the law when the whole purpose is to create a fiscal crisis and blame it on the Republicans?

Also keep in mind that the sequester is the idea of the Obama White House, which he now blames on the GOP. (Link) Let's be clear. Obama is lying! The Washington Post, which is liberal, gives Obama "Four Pinocchio's" out of four on his claim.

Back in July of 2011, White House national economic Director Jack Sperling said that the White House proposed the idea of the sequester. It was then brought to Senate Majority Leader Reid, who it was said looked like he wanted to "throw up" when he was first told. They then explained to him that it would work because they "would design it so that half the threatened cuts would be from the Defense Department….The idea was to make all of the threatened cuts so unthinkable and onerous that the supercommittee (tasked with making additional cuts) would do its work and come up with its own deficit reduction plan".

Remember back in 2011when President Obama supported the sequester cuts? Now, on February 19, 2013, he gives a speech on how devastating they will be.

The sequestration is a political calculation, not an economic solution, perpetrated by, and being carried out by, the White House, for two years. It is a plan to corner Republicans, not to cut spending, but to allow Obama and the Democrats to continue spending at unsustainable rates (GAO analysis, not mine) for the foreseeable future. The Republican leadership, under Boehner, who moronically signed onto the plan only weeks after the original proposal, is too stupid to explain it to the American people. Furthermore, the mainstream media is complicit in furthering the propaganda from Obama and the Democrats in convincing the American people that this is a Republican plan, and that it is their fault. Worse, most Americans are completely unaware of the coming economic collapse being purposefully driven by this Administration, statist Democrats, and big government Republican leadership, because of the media's total dereliction in providing people actual facts, choosing instead to provide White House talking points in print ond on the "news" programming.

Sadly, if there is not one person, Republican or Democrat, who is willing to stand up to Obama and the White House and put a halt to his agenda and his spending, the sequestration will be nothing compared to the economic disaster that is looming in the near future.

I have never been one to believe in conspiracy theories, etc., but I am beginning to see an incredibly disturbing trend developing within this Country. I'm going point out some facts and situations which individually may mean very little, but collectively should give any Freedom loving American cause for concern. History is replete with examples of how his this very same model has been used and abused by Governments to create oppressive, totalitarian regimes.

I realize this is a long article, but I think you'll find it filled with information you're probably not aware of. The sum of which has the potential for GRAVE IMPACT upon the American People.

THE PATRIOT ACT:

Originally enacted under the Bush administration in response to 9/11, on May 27, 2011, President Obama, over widespread bipartisan objections, approved a Congressional four year extension of controversial parts of the Patriot Act that were set to expire. In March of 2010, Obama signed a similar extension of the Patriot Act for one year. These provisions allow the government, with permission from a special secret court, to seize records without the owner’s knowledge, conduct secret surveillance of suspicious people who have no known ties to terrorist groups, and to obtain secret roving wiretaps on people.

Wiretaps for oral, electronic or wire communications, approved by federal and state courts, are at an all-time high. Wiretaps in year 2010 were up 34% from 2009, according to the Administrative Office of the US Courts. There are at least 72 fusion centers across the US which collect local domestic police information and merge it into multi-jurisdictional intelligence centers, according to a recent report by the ACLU. These centers share information from federal, state and local law enforcement and some private companies to secretly spy on Americans. These all continue to grow and flourish under the Obama administration.

In July 2010, the Washington Post released “Top Secret America,” a series of articles detailing the results of a two year investigation into the rapidly expanding world of homeland security, intelligence and counter-terrorism. It found 1,271 government organizations and 1,931 private companies work on counterterrorism, homeland security and intelligence at about 10,000 locations across the US. Every single day, the National Security Agency intercepts and stores more than 1.7 billion emails, phone calls and other types of communications. The FBI has a secret database named Guardian that contains reports of suspicious activities filed from federal, state and local law enforcement. According to the Washington Post Guardian contained 161,948 files as of December 2009. From that database there have been 103 full investigations and at least five arrests the FBI reported. The Obama administration has done nothing to cut back on the secrecy.

The Bay Area Transit System, in August 2011, hearing of rumors to protest against fatal shootings by their police, shut down cell service in four stations. Western companies sell email surveillance software to repressive regimes in China, Libya and Syria to use against protestors and human rights activists. Surveillance cameras monitor residents in high crime areas, street corners and other governmental buildings. Police department computers ask for and receive daily lists from utility companies with the addresses and names of every home address in their area. Computers in police cars scan every license plate of every car they drive by. The Obama administration has made no serious effort to cut back these new technologies of spying on citizens.

The Patriot Act even allows the Government to get records from your local Library, to see what books you're reading. It also allows for the WARRANTLESS search of your emails more than 150 days old, without justification or oversite. These concrete examples document a sustained assault on domestic civil liberties in the United States under the Obama administration.

DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY DATA MINING:

DHS Directive 110-01 specifically identifies information to be gathered from Social Media Sites on U.S. Citizens, amongst others. This includes, but is not limited to: Name, addresses, relatives, pictures, internet service provider information, account numbers, employment, education and lots more! In short, nothing is private to the DHS. DHS Data mining is also certainly not limited to Social Media sites, but from any available databases, including commerial sites specializing in it's collection.

Data-mining programs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security are not fully reviewed by the agency for their effectiveness and, in some cases, for their compliance with privacy protection mandates, according to a report from the U.S. Government Accountability Office. The DHS has not completed privacy impact assessments for two of the six data-mining programs the GAO reviewed, the report said. In addition, DHS violated its own privacy rules by sharing information from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Pattern Analysis and Information Collection (ICEPIC) program with state and local law enforcement agencies, said Representatives Brad Miller of North Carolina and Donna Edwards of Maryland, both Democratic members of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee.

One of the "most disturbing findings" by the GAO was that ICEPIC rolled out its law enforcement sharing component before it was approved by the DHS privacy office, Miller and Edwards said in a press release. The program violates the DHS privacy impact assessment created for the program, the GAO report said.

NEW NSA DATA CENTER BEING BUILT IN UTAH:

The Utah Data Center is a data storage facility being built for the NSA and is designed to be a primary storage resource capable of storing data on the scale of yottabytes. It is alleged to capture "all forms of communication, including the complete contents of private emails, cell phone calls, and Internet searches, as well as all sorts of personal data trails—parking receipts, travel itineraries, bookstore purchases, and other digital 'pocket litter'," though its precise purpose is secret.^[1] The US Senate has voted to approve the FAA Sunsets Extension Act of 2012, which will authorize warrantless surveillance of Americans for counter-terrorism purposes for another five years. The bill extends the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act FISA Amendments Act of 2008, which granted retroactive immunity for wiretaps and email monitoring under the Bush Administration.^[3]

STINGRAY DEVICES:
A federal court judge in Arizona next month will decide if the Department of Justice overstepped the 4^thamendment when it used a device called a “stingray” to collect evidence against David Daniel Rigmaiden, a 30-year-old Arizona man accused of leading a massive identity theft ring from 2005 to 2008. Stingrays look like cell towers but are used to collect cell information (even when the phone is not in use) from everyone within reach of the device. Law enforcement officials say the tool is used in a targeted way to search for terror suspects. the defendant in this case says his fourth amendment rights were violated. DHS EMERGENCY POWER EXTENDED, INCLUDING PRIVATE TELECOM SYSTEMS:

The Obama administration has given the Department of Homeland Security powers to prioritize government communications over privately owned telephones and internet systems in "emergencies." An executive order signed June 6 gives DHS the authority to seize control of telecommunications facilities, including telephone, cellular and wireless networks.

When President Obama inked his name to the Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions Executive Order on July 6, he authorized the US Department of Homeland Security to take control of the country’s wired and wireless communications — including the Internet — in instances of emergency. The signing was accompanied with little to no acknowledgment outside of the White House, but initial reports on the order quickly caused the public to speak out over what some equated to creating an Oval Office kill switch for the Web. Now the Obama administration is addressing those complaints by calling the Executive Order a necessary implement for America’s national security.

Former White House spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden insists that “The [order] does not transfer authorities between or among departments,” but the order does indeed allow the DHS to establish and implement control over even the privately owned communication systems in the country, including Internet Service Providers such as Time Warner, Verizon and Comcast, if the administration agrees that it is warranted for security’s sake. (everything justified by "Safety")

Immediately after last week’s signing, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) said the order allowed the DHS "the authority to seize private facilities when necessary, effectively shutting down or limiting civilian communications." This is essential for any Government taking control of it's Citizens.

RETURNING WAR VETERANS LABELED AS "DOMESTIC TERRORIST THREAT."

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said that she was briefed before the release of a controversial intelligence assessment and that she stands by the report, which lists returning veterans among terrorist risks to the U.S. “This report appears to raise significant issues involving the privacy and civil liberties of many Americans - including war veterans,” said Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee. The FBI has also characterized returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan as a major domestic terrorist threat. FBI documents show the bureau was working with investigators inside the nation's uniformed services "in an effort to identify those current or former soldiers who pose a domestic terrorism threat." The other agencies working with the FBI are the U.S. Army Criminal Investigative Division, the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. Freedom of information Act requests have revealed that the majoirty of DHS "intelligence" has been provided by none other than the "Southern Poverty Law Center."

LICENSE PLATE READERS - DESIGNED TO TRACK YOUR MOVEMENTS:

Today, tens of thousands of LPRs are being used by law enforcement agencies all over the country. The system's unchecked, and largely unmonitored, use raises significant privacy concerns. License plates, dates, times, and locations of all cars seen are kept in law enforcement databases for months or even years at a time. In the worst case, the New York State Police keeps all of its LPR data indefinitely. No universal standard governs how long data can or should be retained.

The country's largest such company, Federal Signal Corporation (FSC), which sells LPRs under its PIPS brand name, says it has sold 20,000 mobile systems across North America and another 15,000 fixed devices across the United States and the United Kingdom. "We work with the 25 largest cities in the United States, over 100 cities in the US. Tim O'Leary, a company vice president, in an interview with Ars said, "We think the market is growing at 8 to 10 percent, adjusted growth rate, annually."

Various agencies, in particular the Department of Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and Customs and Border Protection have issued Millions of dollars in Federal Grants to local law enforcement to buy the hardware.

RECENT MILITARY "TRAINING" ACTIVITIES IN MANY U.S. CITIES:

HOUSTON: Following reports of a military exercise occurring in Miami this week, KTRK-TV shot video of military-style helicopters roaming the skies in Houston, Texas. There have also been several reports of gunfire in the area. The U.S. Army tells KTRK-TV that they are overseeing a “multi-agency training drill” at the old Carnegie High School on Houston’s south side. There were reportedly armed men in fatigues, a lot of firearms and what many believed were real live rounds. The Army did not give any additional details regarding what the training is all about or why it is being conducted in Houston.

MINNEAPOLIS:

Just as Chicagoans saw Black Hawk helicopters with “heavily armed men” hanging out of them in April this year and were told it was part of a routine training exercise, so too are the residents of Minneapolis being alerted to an upcoming urban training.

WCCO (via CBS Local) stated Monday that residents are not to be alarmed if they see a similar scene of low-flying military helicopters. It reported the U.S. Special Operations Command would be conducting exercises from now through the beginning of September.

What scenarios could the military be trying to make as real as possible? Glenn Beck has some ideas and it makes sense. Either a massive change in military training has taken place OR the government is preparing for “something big,” such as a civil breakdown.

MIAMI: Police sent out a warning [last] Monday that multiple police agencies would be providing support for a joint military training exercise somewhere over Miami and elsewhere in the county. The exercise will include the use of military helicopters. But those who don’t read the papers were terrified at the sight of soldiers rappelling onto rooftops, as what sounded like machine gun fire echoed off the high-rises. Josh Epperson, an artist who was visiting Miami during the drill, said “I heard the machine gun fire and then I hit the deck…I didn’t know what to expect, and it was one of the loudest things I’d ever heard.” One local resident, Frances Jerrals, didn’t understand what was happening when she saw military helicopters flying over her southeast Houston neighborhood.

“When you see this, you think the worst. When you hear this, you think the worst,” Jerrals told KTRK-TV. “I felt like I was in a war zone…It was nonstop. I was terrified,” she added.

In this video obtained by the Guardian, Raytheon's 'principal investigator' Brian Urch explains how the Rapid Information Overlay Technology (Riot) software uses photographs on social networks. These images sometimes contain latitude and longitude details – automatically embedded by smartphones within so-called 'exif header data'. Riot pulls out this information, analyzing not only the photographs posted by individuals, but also the location where these images were taken.

"The general misconception is that any statute passed by legislators bearing the appearance of law constitutes the law of the land. The U.S. Constitution is the supreme law of the land, and any statute, to be valid, must be in agreement. It is impossible for both the Constitution and a law violating it to be valid; one must prevail. This is succinctly stated as follows:

The General rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law is in reality no law, but is wholly void, and ineffective for any purpose; since unconstitutionality dates from the time of it's enactment and not merely from the date of the decision so branding it. An unconstitutional law, in legal contemplation, is as inoperative as if it had never been passed. Such a statute leaves the question that it purports to settle just as it would be had the statute not been enacted.

Since an unconstitutional law is void, the general principles follow that it imposes no duties, confers no rights, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection, and justifies no acts performed under it.....

A void act cannot be legally consistent with a valid one. An unconstitutional law cannot operate to supersede any existing valid law. Indeed, insofar as a statute runs counter to the fundamental law of the land it is superseded thereby. No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law and no courts are bound to enforce it."

Americans need to WAKE UP and understand the almost daily, incremental loss of their Liberties. History is replete with examples of how his this very same model has been used and abused by Governments to create oppressive, totalitarian regimes.

Attack in Response To Obama Visit, Taliban Says

A day after saying that he was not using the anniversary of Bin Laden's death as a campaign issue, the President headed to Kabul Afghanistan for a victory lap, once again using the U.S. military as a PR backdrop for an eleven-minute speech.

Obama stated, "Over the last three years, the tide has turned. We broke the Taliban's momentum. We've built strong Afghan security forces." In an ironic twist, a few hour later the Taliban attacked a compound housing foreign contractors, killing seven. Karma's a bitch!

Obama also fell back into his narcissistic ways, saying "The goal that I set – to defeat al-Qaeda and deny it a chance to rebuild – is now within our reach.” The goal that he set? I guess this is another issue where Bush will not get any credit. Obama reserves only blame and derision for his predecessor. But let's not forget that it was the Bush policies of rendition and advanced interrogation techniques (ie. waterboarding) that allowed us to get the information which identified the courier who led us to the Abattabad compound where Bin Laden was holed up.

Regardless of what Obama said, this was a campaign stop. He's trying to burnish his credentials of being a pro-military President, while his policies and words indicated a lukewarm tolerance of our men and women in uniform.

While some, like Chris Matthews, saw this trip as reminiscent of Henry V of England rallying the troops, the Taliban must have seen Neville Chamberlain, while sending Obama a message of their own.

Obama & Media Omit That Burned Quran's Were 'Defaced' With Taliban Messages

While President Obama was out kissing Hamid Karzai's ass for the burning of Quran's by U.S. troops, he and the media were spinning the story by omitting a crucial fact - that the Quran's had been defiled by Taliban prisoners who had used their "holy" books to pass messages. Obama had to know this information at the time that he was twisting himself into a pretzel to kowtow to a bunch of people who choose to remain living in 11th century living conditions.
Obama is only too quick to show America as bending over and grabbing our collective ankles every time the military is perceived by some tin-pot dictator to have committed a foreign policy faux pas.
If anything, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai should be apologizing to the United States for the deaths of four servicemen by a country of crazed religious lunatics and savages.
The only thing that America should apologize for is that we elected this sorry SOB to be our President.

This past Monday, the Obama administration presented its 2013 budget to Congress, with projected defense budget cuts, described by Rep. Howard P “Buck” McKeon, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee as “over $45 billion less than the President's request for last year."

This first round of cuts agreed to under the Budget Control Act of 2011 (BCA) and reflected in this budget, will take $487 billion dollars (9%) from the Department of Defense over the next 10 years. If the sequestration mechanism of that BCA is allowed to trigger, another $500 billion will disappear from the accounts designated to protect the American people, a $1 trillion (18% of defense budget) total cut over the next 10 years. This second tranche of cuts is not reflected in the current budget but will happen unless Congress acts and can somehow overcome a promised Obama veto.
