Pelosi Bemoans 'Very Little Government Left' if Budget Cuts Happen

Posted by Brian

Nancy Pelosi
Cheerleader for big government power
Nancy Pelosi is concerned that if Congress makes spending cuts, there will be "very little in terms of the public space" left.

Of course, by "cuts", she means a reduction in the amount of increase in spending, but that is a point for another day.  There are no actual cuts in spending. Yet, this doesn't prevent Herr Pelosi from doing her impression of Chicken Little, clucking that "the debt-limit ceiling is falling!"

To Pelosi, reining in the size and scope of government is a threat to her and the leftists power and control over the people.

Yes.  And that is the point Madame Pelosi.

Pelosi: 'Very Little' Gov't Left If Spending Cuts are Matched with Debt-Limit Increase
March 21, 2013 By Elizabeth Harrington

(CNSNews.com) – House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said if a debt limit increase is matched with federal spending cuts later this year, there will be “very little” of the “public space” left.

During a Thursday press conference on Capitol Hill, Pelosi was asked about Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio) who said any increase in the debt limit when it is met this August should be accompanied with “dollar for dollar” spending cuts.

“Yes, that’s what the Speaker says, and that is certainly in keeping with the anti-government ideologues that are in his caucus,” Pelosi said.  “If you keep cutting investments in the future that way in order to do something that should be pro forma here to pass the debt limit, this shouldn’t even be this kind of a debate.”

“I mean, you can have the debate, but there shouldn’t be any doubt in anybody’s mind as to what the outcome is about the full faith and credit of the United States of America,” she said.

“If you keep saying ‘dollar for dollar,’ you will have very little in terms of the public space,” Pelosi said.

BIGGEST WHOPPER YET! Obama Claims He Cut Spending By $1 Trillion in 2011

Posted by Brian

I think it's official now: Bill Clinton is no longer the biggest serial liar to occupy the Office of the President.  Barack Obama is able to lie through his teeth to the American people with absolutely ZERO  indication that even he is aware that he is doing it.  He does it without so much as an eye tick, and with no conscience and no emotion.  This is the definition of a psychopath! Dictators throughout history have all had this mental condition, along with a messiah complex (check!).  Aside from those of us who are not mesmerized by Obama's speaking style, how can anybody not see that he refuses to take responsibility for anything negative, or takes credit for even those things which he had zero to do with. His frequent stops all over the country, which even in non-election years are little more than campaign stops, are Obama's way of getting his applause fix.  He's addicted to it. Applause and adulation are his crack.  He desires, and has to have it, just like any other addict.  He tells his audience what he thinks they want to hear, even if he has to lie, to get that "high" from the applause that follows.
Bill Clinton is a serial liar, but he has nothing on Barack Hussein Obama.

Obama: ‘I Cut Spending by Over a Trillion Dollars in 2011’
By Terence P. Jeffrey December 30, 2012

(CNSNews.com) - Appearing on NBCs “Meet the Press” on Sunday, President Barack Obama said that he cut spending by more than $1 trillion in 2011. However, the White House Office of Management and Budget says that federal spending increased by $147 billion from fiscal 2010 to fiscal 2011.

Boehner, GOP Leadership Must Go!!

Posted by Brian

Boehner needs to go big, or go home!

John Boehner has presided over the biggest spending Congress in history.  His feckless leadership and lack of anything resembling intestinal fortitude in dealing with Obama, Pelosi and Reid, has seriously damaged the GOP platform of reining in spending and dealing with this country's financial crisis.
The team of Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy have been nothing short of impotent in projecting strength of character, or of putting out a coherent message to the American public.  Boehner has, in every legislative battle, been on defense.  Even when Boehner has had the legislative upper hand in opinion polls (the debt limit fight) and support, he has caved to Pelosi and the Dems, in a "show of bipartisanship".

Tell me Mr. Speaker, when do the Democrats have to show a little bipartisan goodwill? You start your negotiations out from a position of weakness. With the starting point favoring the Democrats, you play prevent defense giving up even more ground.
Voters need to, and have been, knocking out RINO incumbents to complement the conservatives currently in Congress this election cycle, and the next several as well. We need more real leaders in Congress like Rep. Allen West, Joe Wilson, Tim Scott, Joe Walsh and others.
The new fight over the debt limit is coming up.  A dollar to a doughnut that Boehner once again snatches defeat from the jaws of victory and caves, raising the debt-ceiling without getting any spending cuts.  NOT promises! Real spending cuts.
Any takers?

Debt Up $1.59T Under GOP House—More in 15 Months Than First 97 Congresses Combined
By Terence P. Jeffrey June 1, 2012

(CNSNews.com) - The Republican-controlled House of Representatives, which took office in January 2011, has enacted federal spending bills under which the national debt has increased more in less than one term of Congress than in the first 97 Congresses combined.
In the fifteen months that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives--led by Speaker John Boehner--has effectively enjoyed a constitutional veto over federal spending, the federal government’s debt has increased by about $1.59 trillion.

Obama Defense Cuts To Cost American Businesses $61 Billion Annually

Obama’s Defense Cuts Could Cost Economy $61 Billion While Endangering National Security
Obama’s Defense Cuts Could Endanger National Security, Cost Economy $61 billion
By Travis Korson February 16, 2012

This past Monday, the Obama administration presented its 2013 budget to Congress, with projected defense budget cuts, described by Rep. Howard P “Buck” McKeon, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee as “over $45 billion less than the President's request for last year."
This first round of cuts agreed to under the Budget Control Act of 2011 (BCA) and reflected in this budget, will take $487 billion dollars (9%) from the Department of Defense over the next 10 years.  If the sequestration mechanism of that BCA is allowed to trigger, another $500 billion will disappear from the accounts designated to protect the American people, a $1 trillion (18% of defense budget) total cut over the next 10 years.  This second tranche of cuts is not reflected in the current budget but will happen unless Congress acts and can somehow overcome a promised Obama veto.
