Obama Vows To Shred Constitution If House Republicans Don't Cave On Debt Ceiling

Posted by Brian

Il Duce                                                       Il Douche
So the "Annointed One" is now telling us, that like a spoiled child, he plans to unilaterally violate the Constitution by raising the debt ceiling if House Republicans don't give him what he whaaaants?

Obama is in the midst of one of the biggest political power fits in history.  Shutting down monuments and scenic overlooks, including the World War Two Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.  Others this megalomaniacal jerk has closed are the parking lots at Mount Rushmore, as well as at Mount Vernon (which is privately funded), and scenic overlooks on the George Washington parkway around DC.  And lest we forget, the National Amber Alert website has been shut down, to remind us how this is affecting our safety as well. However, Michelle Obama's websites are still up and running, including her "Get Moving" website.  I guess here programs qualify as "essential" government work.

Obama is having a blast in shoving American's faces in it. We are not supposed to speak up.  We are to shut the hell up, bend over and take whatever he want us to abuse us with.  There is no room for dissent.  As a Washington DC Park Ranger told the Washington Times:  “We’ve been told to make life as difficult for people as we can. It’s disgusting.”  There's your all-caring Barack Obama for you.

The problem is, is that public opinion is turning away from the President on the budget deal, so he is now focuing on scaring us about the debt ceiling.  He is actively trying to spook the markets.  He is talking of the US defaulting on its debt, and of the dire consequences that would bring.  The dirty secret is this: The US is not going to default if the debt ceiling is not raised. The US brings in $225B/mo. in tax receipts.  The interest on the debt is about a tenth of that, and is all that is needed to be paid to stay out of default.

Knowing this, the President insists that he get a clean continuing resolution with increased spending and everything that HE wants, (a CR, because he has not submitted a serious budget to Congress in his 5 years), and yet another increase to the debt ceiling. And if he doesn't get it, because he's already stated numerous time that he "refuse(s) to negotiate", that he's just going to have to unconstitutionally go around Congress and do this himself, using the 14th Amendment as his justification. One problem for "The Messiah". The 14th Amendment does not give the President unilateral authority to issue new debt on the U.S. credit than he has to collect taxes or make expenditures that have not been enacted by Congress, no matter what Harry Reid or the lapdog media say.

The debt clause of the Amendment states: "The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void".

Keep in mind that this Amendment came at the end of the Civil War, and was one of three post-civil war amendments. The debt clause was put in because of the debt incurred by the war still had to be paid.  The debt needed to be paid by both the northern and southern states.  The 14th Amendment was put in to prevent the southern states from saying they would not pay for the cost of the war.  What it does not say is that President Obama, or any president, can borrow money or spend money which has not first been authorized by Congress.  ALL spending must originate in the House of Representatives, and the 14th amendment does not render that null and void.

President Obama knows this, as do his advisors, and those on the left who are encouraging him to do it, including the village idiot Nancy Pelosi.  For Barack Obama and this bunch, separation of powers are a nuisance, not a constitutional firewall against abuse. If he follows through on his threat, Articles of Impeachment should be drawn up, and Barack Obama should go on trial.

Pelosi: Give Obama "Unlimited Power" To Raise Debt

Posted by Brian

Nancy Pelosi is 'tard happy over the prospect of no debt ceiling.
Rarely are we subjected to examples of true retardation.  I'm not talking about individuals who have true learning disabilities.  No, I am addressing seeming intelligent people who, because of their own drunkenness with power, have become incapable of cogent, critical thinking.
Nancy Pelosi, this stuttering fool, is a living example of this type of person.  The longer she remains in power, the more mentally deficient she becomes.  Her arrogance and power prevent her from forming a rational thought which might allow her to have that "aha" moment, which informs her that she and her leftist cohorts are actively destroying a great nation.
Thanks to a deficient educational system, run by leftist retards like herself, she is able to convince millions of others historically proven failed policies are the path to her marxist Nirvana.
Remember, this is the same Nancy Pelosi, who when she gave her first address as the Speaker of the House in 2007 said, "Pay as you go. No new deficit spending". We now know that she was lying through her teeth, proven by the fact that spending under her Democrat Congress tripled at the end of her first full year as Speaker.
The fact is, Nancy Pelosi wants to give this power to the President to avoid making Congress take any responsibility for, or the American people be aware of, the obscene amount of out money that these people spend.

Pelosi: Give Obama Power to Personally Lift Debt Limit to Infinity
By Terence P. Jeffrey November 30, 2012

(CNSNews.com) - House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)  said on Friday that Congress should hand over to President Barack Obama the power to unilateral increase the limit on the U.S. government's debt.

In effect, under the plan Pelosi is endorsing, the only limit on the national debt would be President Obama's willingness to borrow money in the name of American taxpayers.

Boehner, GOP Leadership Must Go!!

Posted by Brian

Boehner needs to go big, or go home!

John Boehner has presided over the biggest spending Congress in history.  His feckless leadership and lack of anything resembling intestinal fortitude in dealing with Obama, Pelosi and Reid, has seriously damaged the GOP platform of reining in spending and dealing with this country's financial crisis.
The team of Boehner, Cantor and McCarthy have been nothing short of impotent in projecting strength of character, or of putting out a coherent message to the American public.  Boehner has, in every legislative battle, been on defense.  Even when Boehner has had the legislative upper hand in opinion polls (the debt limit fight) and support, he has caved to Pelosi and the Dems, in a "show of bipartisanship".
Boehner And Cantor
Boehner And Cantor (Photo credit: Talk Radio News Service)
Tell me Mr. Speaker, when do the Democrats have to show a little bipartisan goodwill? You start your negotiations out from a position of weakness. With the starting point favoring the Democrats, you play prevent defense giving up even more ground.
Voters need to, and have been, knocking out RINO incumbents to complement the conservatives currently in Congress this election cycle, and the next several as well. We need more real leaders in Congress like Rep. Allen West, Joe Wilson, Tim Scott, Joe Walsh and others.
The new fight over the debt limit is coming up.  A dollar to a doughnut that Boehner once again snatches defeat from the jaws of victory and caves, raising the debt-ceiling without getting any spending cuts.  NOT promises! Real spending cuts.
Any takers?

Debt Up $1.59T Under GOP House—More in 15 Months Than First 97 Congresses Combined
By Terence P. Jeffrey June 1, 2012

(CNSNews.com) - The Republican-controlled House of Representatives, which took office in January 2011, has enacted federal spending bills under which the national debt has increased more in less than one term of Congress than in the first 97 Congresses combined.
In the fifteen months that the Republican-controlled House of Representatives--led by Speaker John Boehner--has effectively enjoyed a constitutional veto over federal spending, the federal government’s debt has increased by about $1.59 trillion.

Obama to ask for debt limit hike: Treasury official

(Reuters) - The White House plans to ask Congress by the end of the week for an increase in the government's debt ceiling to allow the United States to pay its bills on time, according to a senior Treasury Department official on Tuesday.
The approval is expected to go through without a challenge, given that Congress is in recess until later in January and the request is in line with an agreement to keep the U.S. government funded into 2013.

U.S. Approaches $15 Trillion Debt Limit

It will be the latest sobering economic milestone that few were hoping to see: The U.S. national debt – any day now – will soar above the $15 trillion mark.

As of this writing, the total debt is $14.97 trillion, so moving beyond the symbolic $15 trillion is a foregone conclusion. When the unwelcome milestone is reached, it will come at a volatile time both in this country and abroad.

Obama: The Buck Stops with Everyone But Me

Does this guy actually his own B.S. that flows from his lips? According to him, everything is out of his control. He's running around like Curly of the Three Stooges yelling "I'm a victim of circumstance!" Even the oil prices he says he has no control over! This after decimating oil drilling in the gulf with his moratorium, his refusal to drill in ANWR, or off the west coast, or off the east coast, and to go after coal companies, and letting the EPA run wld on the energy industry in general. Noooo, nothing to do with it. He's friggin' Pontius Pilate, washing his hands clean of every energy killing, job killing, and spirit killing policy he's put in place since he took office.
But all is well in Obamaland - he's got a $35,800 per couple birthday bash to give himself. Cake anyone?

Obama: U.S. 'Economy Has Already Had To Absorb an Earthquake in Japan’
Tuesday, August 02, 2011
By Fred Lucas
Washington (CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama said the weak economy in the United States could be blamed partially on international events and natural disasters, such as the March 11 earthquake in Japan.

“That’s part of the reason that people are so frustrated with what’s been going on in this town,” Obama told reporters in the Rose Garden on Tuesday.

“In the last few months, the economy has already had to absorb an earthquake in Japan, the economic headwinds coming from Europe, the Arab Spring and the [rise] in oil prices -- all of which have been very challenging for the recovery. But these are things we couldn’t control.”

Shamed: Communist China Tells U.S. To Be Financially Responsible

Posted by Brian
While Democrats and RINO Republicans blame the Tea Party for "holding the country hostage", and "acting like terrorists" during the debt ceiling debacle, China and Russia are blasting Washington for NOT doing what the Tea Party and millions of other Americans begged them to do - cut spending and get the budget under control.  Embarrassing.

Communist China Urges U.S. to Handle Debt Responsibly

Wednesday, August 03, 2011
By JOE McDONALD , Associated Press

BEIJING (AP) - China's central bank governor urged Washington to handle its debt responsibly, warning Wednesday that uncertainty in the market for Treasury debt might harm a global economic recovery.

China is the biggest foreign owner of Treasury debt and had appealed to U.S. leaders to protect its $1.1 billion in holdings during last week's debate over raising Washington's borrowing limit and avoiding a possible default

Debt Crisis - Why The Tea Party Didn't Win

Interview with Tea Party Co-Founder Mark Meckler

'We Have Compromised Our Way Into Disaster'

Mark Meckler, 49, the co-founder of the Tea Party Patriots in the United States, talks to SPIEGEL about the US debt ceiling, the radical right's uncompromising fight against the national debt and the "complete economic disaster" he claims President Barack Obama has created.

SPIEGEL: The world is looking at Washington and sees gridlock and chaos. How much have the negotiations over the United States' debt ceiling hurt America's standing in the world?

Meckler: Saying that these debates have hurt our image is absurd. What you currently see in Washington is one of the most responsible debates ever about the size and scope of government. The world should look at what is going on in the United States as a model for what should happen in all countries.

SPIEGEL: We look at it and see a Congress held hostage by a small group of radical Tea Party members unwilling to agree to any budget compromise and risking a US default.

Meckler: What do you mean by "a small group?" Forty-one percent of voters in the last US election said they agreed with Tea Party values. And the primary values of the Tea Party are about fiscal responsibility.

Idiot Of The Day - Nancy Pelosi: Don't Connect Raising Debt Ceiling and Reducing Spending

The intellectually vapid former Speaker of the House once again treats us to her inarticulate meanderings into Washington-speak.
In this latest episode of wandering aimlessly in search of anything meaningful, she claims it's irresponsible to tie the increase of the debt ceiling to getting our budget under control. In her own words she states that we have raised the debt ceiling over 30 times since Reagan was president, which says to me that, aside from raising the debt ceiling more than once a year, Congress can't control their spending. Like drug addicts, even when revenues to the federal government increase, they spend all of it and borrow or steal even more to support their spending habit.
Just raising the debt ceiling is not going to solve this crisis. Without meaningful cuts and a responsible budget to assure our debtors that we are serious about getting our financial house in order, the financial markets are still going to lower the U.S. credit rating.
Nancy Pelosi is not an idiot for lying to the American people. For that, she is a dispicable troll. Nancy Pelosi is an idiot because she expects us all to believe the steady stream of lies that pour forth from her wrinkled pie hole.

Reid Blasts Republicans For Playing Politics With Debt, Then Filibusters Own Bill

Posted by Brian
Harry Reid, who accuses the Republicans of turning the debt ceiling debate into a circus, just upped the ante on how dysfunctional this Congress is. With "Baghdad" Dick Durbin and Chuckie "Schmuckie" Schumer, he went before the cameras last night to talk of the unseriousness of the House Republicans, in sending bills to the Senate which are not "serious". In addition, he said that the GOP should at least give his bill an "up or down vote".
You have to hand it to Reid. He has cojones the size of his considerable ego.  He calls for the up or down vote after "tabling" both Republican bills without up or down votes. Then he turns around and filibusters his own bill, moving the "artificial" August 2nd deadline one day closer.  It makes me wonder if this guy doesn't have political Tourettes.  He complains that the Republicans are the party of "just say no", while conveniently omitting that the Senate, under his "leadership", has not produced a budget (as required by law) in over 800 days.  Yet, without a budget, the Democrats have spent over $9 trillion in the last 2 and a half years. Still, Harry Reid claims it is the fault of Republicans that we are in this financial mess.  I believe that Reid is one small mini-stroke from drooling in his oatmeal.  I am not being totally facetious here either.  His mispronunciation of simple (like those with double "B's"), slurring, and his general speech patterns make me wonder if his mental acuity is starting to falter. These are not the thoughts of someone whose mind is "hitting on all cylinders".
Regardless, August 2nd looks to be a pipe dream for passage of a bill now.  But the world will not end on that day.  The economy will not collapse.  It is, and has always been an arbitrary date to creat a crisis, and "get something done".
Harry Reid and the Democrats know this, and this latest tactic shows that they know it.

Democrats Enforce Filibuster Against Their Own Debt Bill
by Stephen Dinan

Senate Republicans want a 60-vote threshold for a debt-limit bill to pass the chamber, but it's actually Democrats who are enforcing the filibuster on their own legislation, insisting on delaying a vote until 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

Republicans offered to let the vote happen Friday night, just minutes after the chamber voted to halt a House Republican bill. All sides expect Democrats' bill will fail too, and the GOP said senators might as well kill both at the same time so that negotiations could move on to a compromise.

The president’s average approval rating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday was 40 percent in Gallup’s daily tracking poll released on Friday. His approval rating averaged 46 percent in June, and was at about the same level for most of July.

Steve King on default: Obama could be impeached

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) said Monday that President Barack Obama “would be impeached” if the nation falls into default.

“STOP talking about default,” he wrote on Twitter. “The 1st dime of each $1 of revenue services debt. Obama would be impeached if he blocked debt payments. C C & B!”

King is among the House Republicans who voted for the so-called “Cut, Cap and Balance” plan that would introduce a constitutional amendment to require a balanced budget. The Senate last week dismissed the House bill.

King isn’t the first Republican to suggest that Obama should be impeached over the debt crisis.

The 'Gang of Six', led by Senator Tom Coburn, is in the process of screwing the taxpayers and GOP once again.  Coburn, who is quick to point out his conservative bonafides, has been less so since the election of Barack Obama.  It makes you wonder what Obama has on him, or maybe worse, what he has offered him.  The bottom line is that he has become part of the Beltway elite, caught up in the D.C. machinery, and is a shadow of his previous constitutionally-grounded self.  His sudden newfound friendship with Barack Obama in 2009 has had a profound effect on him, as he has at times been an apologist for the President, and it appears is carrying the water for Obama in this deal. Obama is not happy about this deal because the Republicans are getting a good deal out of this. Et tu, Tom?
Here are just a few of the stories over the last few years regarding Tom Coburn and President Obama:

Huge deficit-cutting bill sails through GOP House

Huge deficit-cutting bill races through Republican House; bipartisan effort picks up support

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Defying a veto threat, the Republican-controlled House voted Tuesday night to slice federal spending by $6 trillion and require a constitutional balanced budget amendment to be sent to the states in exchange for averting a threatened Aug. 2 government default.

The 234-190 vote marked the power of deeply conservative first-term Republicans, and it stood in contrast to calls at the White House and in the Senate for a late stab at bipartisanship to solve the nation's looming debt crisis.

President Barack Obama and a startling number of Republican senators lauded a deficit-reduction plan put forward earlier in the day by a bipartisan "Gang of Six" lawmakers that calls for $1 trillion in what sponsors delicately called "additional revenue" and some critics swiftly labeled as higher taxes.

Obama Provides Clarity - His Destruction Of The Economy Is Intentional

Posted by Brian
(A Democracy) can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
Alexis de Tocqueville
Does the previous statement sound familiar in the context of what we see going on in government today? Does it make you concerned? Good.  It should.
With one sentence, Barack Hussein Obama provided all the clarity we need to understand that he is totally unconcerned with driving the U.S. economy over the edge of the fiscal cliff.  For those who have been paying attention to what he has been saying for the last three and a half years it does not come as a big surprise.  This simply fits into everything else he has said about "fundamentally changing this country".  He has a deep-seated hatred for the Founders, the Constitution, and everything that this country stands for.  He does not see the success of this experiment we call democracy, which has in a little over 200 years become the most successful country in human history, as something that needs to be admired, but as something to be despised.  He sees the troubles around the world as our fault.  Instead of recognizing the most of the misery around the world is in countries run by despots, he sees American exceptionalism as something negative. His worldview is such that he can't see past his own Marxist ideology that America is exceptional because of the wisdom of the Founders.  A country and government ruled by its citizens ( until recently), who are given the freedom and  liberty to succeed, or fail, based on their own self-determination and self-interest.
The end result of his hatred is to tear the system down to its foundation (fundamentally change) through turmoil - economic, class-warfare, and societal instability.
Eighteen more months of Barack Obama at the helm will, at minimum, leave the country teetering on the edge of financial collapse. A re-election of Obama will see the United States with a Hugo Chavez-style dictatorship before the end of his second term.

Obama: ‘We Don’t Need a Balanced Budget Amendment’

Is He Serious? Obama Proposals Add $9.5 Trillion To Debt By 2021

Posted by Brian

As President Obama excoriates GOP leaders for not being serious in the debt ceiling negotiations, a new CBO analysis of Obama's proposals show that they will add $9.5 trillion to the debt by 2021.  In fact, every year would have deficits of at least $1.2 trillion - every year! Even if Republicans cave, and agree to raise the debt ceiling by 2.4, it only gets us to mid-2013 before it will need to be raised again.  This is what Obama wants, as it removes this issue from the 2012 election narrative, and puts the next fight off until, what would be, his second term.  An Obama second term would look much different from his first term, where he has to worry about getting reelected.  $1.5 trillion may seem like peanuts compared to what this megalomaniac would do without poll numbers to worry about.
As a nation we were furious at President Bush for a $458 billion deficit at the end of his second term. The media pounded the deficits numbers into the brains of voters on a nearly daily basis.  Now, the deficit under this President has been averaging over $1.5 trillion per year, over $1 trillion more than Bush's highest year, and they say that the Republicans are playing games?  No more talk from the Democrats and the media of how we need to get our fiscal house in order. Only how much more can we spend to keep bloated programs in place.  Obama keeps coming up with these 5 and 10 year plans, which sound very Soviet-like, when what needs to happen is a 18 month plan to vote this man and his Marxist/Maoist thugs out of office so they can't do any more damage to this country. As it is, it may take decades to undo the damage that they've done in only two and a half years.  Imagine what we would look like after eight years.

Obama's Proposal: Increase Debt Extra $26B This Year, $83B Next Year, $2.7T Over Decade

Saturday, July 16, 2011
By Terence P. Jeffrey

(CNSNews.com) - While the Republican-controlled House of Representatives has voted this year to approve House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan's (R.-Wis.) proposal--that would put the government on a gradual path to a surplus by 2040--and plans to vote on a balanced budget amendment next week that would cap federal spending at 18 percent of GDP, the only budget proposal President Obama's has publicly revealed in 2011 would, according to the Congressional Budget Office, increase the deficit by $26 billion this year, $83 billion next year, and $2.7 trillion over the next decade.

Obama Acts Like A Spectator In Debt Talks

Obama:  80% Of Americans Want Higher Taxes
"Americans support a 'balanced' approach" to debt ceiling solution

The President, once again, went before the cameras to address the contentious nature of the negotiations regarding the looming debt ceiling.  I find it amazing that Obama behaves as if he is a complete outsider in all of this.  This is not an issue that snuck up on anybody.  Back in January there were stories that this was something that the President and Congress were going to have to address.  Instead, this President has stories written about him about how the July 4th weekend marked the end of a 13 week streak of golf outings for the Putter-in-Chief.  If you are the CEO of a company that is on the verge of being unable to meet it's debt obligations, are you spending every free moment sitting down with your board of directors to come up with a plan to meet those obligations, or are you spending weekends at the 19th hole?

His "plan" is that Congress bring him a plan.  In other words, "I am not going to have my fingerprints on anything to do with any plan".  He accuses the GOP of being ideological for the very reason that they were swept into office back in November - to cut spending and not to raise taxes. He is attempting to do the very thing that the Democrats did to Bush I, when they got him to agree to a tax hike after his "Read my lips. No new taxes" pledge.  As soon as he signed the bill, passed by a Democrat Congress, they immediately pointed out that he had broken his campaign pledge.  The rest, as they say, is history.
Where is the President's plan?  It has been over 800 days since Congress has passed a budget - April 2009.   The budget that the President submitted this year was not even viewed as serious.  It was defeated 97-0 in the Senate.  Not even his own party wanted anything to do with it. This fact alone should have had the press asking Obama if he was even marginally engaged with the office that he's been elected to.  If this had been any other president (especially a Republican), and their budget proposal hadn't garnered even one vote, they would have been like sharks circling at feeding time.  But with this President it was barely newsworthy.
Congress has had spending bills - in spades.  Bills that this President has signed. Spending that has increased the national debt by $5 trillion since this President has taken office. So, how is it, that time and again, he goes before the press and the American public and acts as if he is a mere spectator in this whole debt ceiling debacle? He throws about platitudes that the GOP needs to come up with a "big deal".  Have we heard one concrete idea from this President about what he thinks will work? No.  And we won't. He accused the Republicans of being ideologically rigid, yet this whole dog-and-pony show is about maneuvering the GOP into a corner, getting them to accept tax hikes and then use that against them in the 2012 election campaign.  He could care less about the debt ceiling, in the abstract.  If we raise it, he will run the debt up to the next one in record time.  His frustration comes from his inability to get the GOP to bend over and grab their ankles.  His latest obfuscation is to avoid the word "taxes" and instead speak of new ways to "raise revenue", a term now being echoed by all of the media.
The Republicans should know that it is not they, but the President who has been backed into a corner.  There is only one choice: Reduce spending by a minimum of $1.7 trillion, and not over a 10-year period. It needs to be done over the next 18 months.  All items should be on the table, including the one thing which not even been raised - Obamacare.  Congress should vote to defund this monstrosity as soon as possible.  Hold the votes and get them on the record.  Let those who want to hold the line on the status quo run on their voting record. If they think that the American public is satisfied with the amount the government is spending, and are satisfied with the state of the economy, let them run on that.  The Dems won't do this because they know this is a losing issue, and are thus scared to death of what the results would be in next years' election.  Their only move is to get the GOP to capitulate on tax hikes.
Boehner, McConnell, and the GOP have the winning hand here.  They need to realize that, hold firm, and get Obama and the Dems to cut spending.  If they do, the American people will be behind them.
Oh, and press Obama on this issue.  Put him on the defensive so he can't continue to act as if he is some neutral spectator, or the referree of a boxing match. It's his policies which have brought us to this point. Obama and the Dems are the ones who should come out of this politically bloodied.

Obama Admits Social Security "Lockbox" Doesn't Exist

Now this is a big f***ing deal!

What Happened to the $2.6 Trillion Social Security Trust Fund?
Merrill Matthews - Right Directions

Here’s how President Barack Obama answered CBS’s Scott Pelley’s question about whether he could guarantee that Social Security checks would go out on August 3, the day after the government is supposed to reach its debt limit: “I cannot guarantee that those checks [he included veterans and the disabled, in addition to Social Security] go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.”

And Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner echoed the president on CBS’s Face the Nation Sunday implying that if a budget deal isn’t reached by August 2, seniors might not get their Social Security checks.

Well, either Obama and Geithner are lying to us now, or they and all defenders of the Social Security status quo have been lying to us for decades. It must be one or the other.
