Obama tries to fire up frustrated supporters

Has the Bamster's Frequent Trips to the Links Undermined His Support?
WASHINGTON (AP) - Angling for a second term, President Barack Obama tried to fire up supporters Monday night, saying failure to get everything they want as fast as they want should motivate and not dissuade them.

Liberals and other key Obama supporters have voiced frustration with the president on a number of issues, from his compromise with Republicans on tax cuts to failure to deliver a promised overhaul of the immigration system.

Media Bias: Islamic Attacks On Egyptian Coptic Christians Reported As Sectarian Clashes

An Ill Season: The Arab Spring Unleashes Islamists on Egyptian Christians

By Andrew McCarthy
May 16, 2011

Screaming “With our blood and soul, we will defend you, Islam,” jihadists stormed the Virgin Mary Church in northwest Cairo last weekend. They torched the Coptic Christian house of worship, burned the nearby homes of two Copt families to the ground, attacked a residential complex, killed a dozen people, and wounded more than 200: just another day in this spontaneous democratic uprising by Muslim hearts yearning for freedom.

In the delusional vocabulary of the “Arab Spring,” this particular episode is known as a sectarian “clash.” That was the Washington Post’s take. Its headline reads “12 dead in Egypt as Christians and Muslims clash” — in the same way, one supposes, that a mugger’s fist can be said to “clash” with his victim’s face. The story goes on, in nauseating “cycle of violence” style, to describe “clashes between Muslims and Coptic Christians” that “left” 12 dead, dozens more wounded, “and a church charred” — as if it were not crystal clear who were the clashers and who were the clashees, as if the church were somehow combusted into a flaming heap without some readily identifiable actors having done the charring.

Al Jazeera Produces Disgusting, Sympathetic Puff Piece On Osama Bin Laden

h/t to Accuracy in Media

Recently, Columbia University bestowed its most prestigious award to Al Jazeera, the Middle East "News" organization that routinely sprinkles its stories with islamist propaganda.
Columbia's statement of praise included this:
"Al Jazeera English has performed a great service in bringing the English-speaking world in-depth coverage of the turmoil in the Middle East. We salute its determination to get to the heart of a complicated story unfolding in countries where news has historically been difficult to cover."
They went on to praise Al Jazeera for:
"overall depth and quality of its peerless coverage of the ongoing protests in the Middle East".

Yes, the "Arab Spring" democracy movement that Al Jazeera and other news organizations tuted as a "grassroots" movement, led by people who just wanted freedom, is proving to be as inaccurate as most other things they report.  As Egypt is showing us all, the freedom movement there is in deep trouble as the Muslim Brotherhood has moved in quickly to fill the power vacuum, inserting themselves into the highest levels of the government.  Egypt is quickly moving from a dictatorship which leaned, however slightly, to pro-Western ideals and pro-capitalist economic policies to what looks to be an Islamo-facist dictatorship with pro-Iranian leanings.

Some other highlights of Al Jazeera coverage:
  • Comments by one of Al-Jazeera English’s stars, Riz Khan, who appeared on CNN and refused to call Hamas or Hezbollah terrorist organizations. “I am not one to judge,” Khan said.
  • Aired a pro-terrorist video and had distorted the comments of British Prime Minister Tony Blair in an interview with David Frost.
  • A report on Iraq that included footage of the ‘Islamic Army in Iraq’ going through drills and graduating a group of new soldiers.” The story glamorized the terrorists and was propaganda from start to finish.
Now we have this sympathetic look at Bin Laden from a news organization that the Obama Administration claims they watch to keep up on all the news from the Middle East:

The Democrats Immoral Stance On Illegal Immigration

Hundreds of FBI employees gathered to hear Pre...Image via Wikipedia

Obama Treating Latino's Like Used Kleenex

By now, most have seen or heard President Barack Obama's decidedly un-Presidential, and embarrassing speech on border security.  The Bamster is in full campaign mode, playing to the far-left, pro-illegal immigration crowd as he ramps up the rhetoric, and his base, for the lead-up to November 2012.
Doing his best Saul Alinsky, he said:

"We have gone above and beyond what was requested by the very Republicans who said they supported broader reform as long as we got serious about enforcement. But even though we've answered these concerns, I gotta say I suspect there are still going to be some who are trying to move the goal posts on us one more time. Maybe they'll need a moat. Maybe they'll want alligators in the moat."

Mr. Reach-Across-The-Aisle has now taken to mocking those who want serious attention payed to the flood of illegal bodies pouring over the border.
For those of you who want to see this issue as anti-Mexican, or anti-Hispanic, you couldn't be more wrong.  Barack Obama is the one attempting to play Hispanics like a Stradivarius in his quest to win reelection. He won-over 67%  of the Hispanic vote in 2008 due, in part, to his tough talk on tightening the border and providing a pathway to citizenship for an estimated 12-15 million persons in the U.S. illegally.  Though he claimed that his plan was tough, it essentially consisted of a slap on the wrist, with paltry fines, lack of background checks, and effectively moved those who had broken immigration laws to the "front of the line".

His claim that the  border is more secure than it's ever been, and that border security fence is "nearing completion" is an outright lie.  According to the Government Accountability Office, the Border Patrol control only about 40% of the border and only 15% of that right on the border with Mexico.  That is, only 15% has a secure fence!

Obama and the Democrats love to play the role of being concerned for all of the "hard-working", "disadvantaged", "undocumented" workers coming into the country to make a better life for themselves.  It's all very touching and sensitive.  Though for some this description is accurate, for many others it is an open corridor for drug trafficking, kidnapping, and other illegal activities.  It is also an open door for jihadists using Mexico as a weak point to enter the U.S. undetected.

How is the lefts' stance on illegal immigration immoral?  It is a route for human trafficking, whose victims end up in forced prostitution and working in sweat shop in places like the garment districts of L.A. and New York.

Thousands have died crossing some of the most extreme desert areas in the U.S. Southwest, most from dehydration, and heat related causes. Nearly 500 died in 2005 alone, and this is just the known deaths.  Estimates of actual deaths are much higher.

Illegal immigration also depresses the wages of legal immigrant farmworkers in the U.S.  Cesar Chavez, the late leader of the United Farm Workers union knew this, and was a staunch opponent of illegal immigration. Yet the proponents of open borders and "amnesty" continue their pimping of votes  for the Democrat Party.

Taxpayers are not spared, in regards to illegal immigration, either. The Federation for American Immigration Reform reports that illegal immigration costs $113 billion annually, with border states picking up the lions share of the tab, with the single largest cost nationally being to educate the children of illegal aliens - a whopping $52 billion a year.

Make no mistake, the GOP has at best, been anemic in their response to what is a very real problem.  With a timid leadership that is afraid of alienating Hispanic, they have allowed the Democrats to control the tone of the debate.  I, for one, don't know what the hell that they are afraid of. Coming up with Democrat-lite solutions in this debate garnered John McCain 33% of the Hispanic vote in 2008.  A strong conservative candidate needs to frame the debate in a bold way which will counter the totally immoral position that the Democrats have on this issue. The Democrat position promotes lower wages of farm laborers by enabling those who wish to enter illegally a nearly unimpeded route through large swaths of the southern border. They oppose enforcement of existing laws to identify and deport those who are discovered, as well as enabling the hiring of illegal immigrants with inadequate penalties to those employers who do hire them.  The GOP would also do well to articulate a modern day "Bracero" program for laborers to enter the country and work legally, with all the basic workers rights and protections afforded citizens, including fair wages.

Barack Obama ran in 2008 with promises to the Hispanic community to "fix" the immigration problem. He is now out repeating the same script to shore up his 2008 Hispanic base.  However, Hispanics need to ask him what he did in his first 2 years in office.  He had the Presidency and effective super-majorities in both houses of Congress - and did nothing.

From 2008 to 2010 the GOP had virtually no power to stop a Democrat juggernaut, yet a major promise to one of his major constituencies was completely ignored - until now.  Election season.  One: the latino community should be able to see right through this.  They are being used as a means to an end.  Like his sudden conversion of wanting to drill for oil after having demonized all things petroleum for two and a half years, all of a sudden he is putting immigration on the front burner again. Two: this issue is one that the GOP should be able to own, both on a humanitarian and on a national security standpoint.

The key, in my mind, is not to turn this into an "Hispanic" issue, but an American issue. It's the Democrats who like to divide everyone into little special interest sub-groups, pitting one against the other, and throwing a scrap to one here and another one there.   The GOP should take both of the issues head-on and shove them right down Obama's political throat.  Frame the debate as it should be framed - as an American one. Point out how the current status quo and the Democrat "solutions" continue to keep the Hispanic community in a place of subservience to a Democrat Party that trots "their" issues out only at election time to use them as props, milk them for votes, and then promptly puts them back into the closet for the next election cycle, as they do with all of their special interest groups.  In addition, our national security is put at risk with gangs, drug cartels, and groups like Hezbollah spilling over the border. The Democrats are beholden to two things - power and the unions. The latter because they are what gives them the power.  All others are simply political pawns.

For Republicans to own this issue, being Democrat-lite is a recipe for failure.  McCain proved that. Bold differences, with articulate, common sense explanations on why securing the border first is paramount and then actually doing it, will go a long way toward showing fortitude. This would include equipping Border Patrol with the type of equipment and weapons to gain the upper hand with drug smugglers, gangs, and paramilitary units crossing the border. Hold U.S. employers accountable for hiring illegals. Increase penalties if they are also abusing illegals physically, mentally or paying substandard wages.  Then articualte and put forth a plan for some type of "Bracero" program for those seeking seasonal work.  Other details on immigration can be worked out in a slow, reasonable, and responsible manner that benefits both the U.S. as well as those who are currently risking, literally, their lives to find work.

The Republicans are staring a win in the face if they have the backbone to actually get in the game.

Ben Stein: The "Arab Spring" Is A Fraud

Posted by Brian

Interesting piece by Ben Stein about the so-call "Arab Spring" democracy movements across the Middle East.   Ben points out those things that the media has either willfully, or through sheer lack of intellectual curiosity, failed to report:  That all of the movements, after the dust has settled, end up being anti-Israel, pro-Iranian, and anti-Western.  It doen't take a superior intellect, of which Stein is, to see what isright in front of our faces.  Yet the media seems scared to tell the public the truth about what is happening in the Middle East and the effects that all of this could have on a gobal scale.  Hat tip to Ben Stein on having the guts to say what the left-wing media won't.

Obama's approval rating is now at 46 percent, equal to his approval rating in the last tracking poll conducted before Obama addressed Americans late on May 1 and informed them of bin Laden's death. Forty-four percent of Americans now disapprove of the job Obama is doing as president.

Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, said late Saturday that he would not seek the Republican nomination for president next year in an announcement that was eagerly anticipated in part because of contradictory hints he had given over the last few days.

“All the factors say go but my heart says no, and that’s the decision that I have made,” he said near the end of his Fox News program, “Huckabee.”

Obama To Put Screws To Israel - Still More Land Concessions to Palestinians Sought

Obama's newest ambush
By Caroline B. Glick
http://www.jewishworldreview.com/

It is hard to believe, but it appears that in the wake of the Palestinian unity deal that brings the genocidal, al Qaida-aligned, local franchise of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Hamas into a partnership with Fatah, US President Barack Obama has decided to open a new round of pressure on Israel to give away its land and national rights to the Palestinians. It is hard to believe that this is the case. But apparently it is.

On Wednesday The Wall Street Journal reported that while Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is in Washington next week, and before the premier has a chance to give his scheduled address to a joint session of Congress, Obama will give a new speech to the Arab world. In that speech, Obama will praise the populist movements that have risen up against Arab tyrannies and embrace them as the model for the future. As for Israel, the report claimed that the Obama administration is still trying to decide whether the time is right to put the screws on Israel once more.

CNN's Zakaria Reveals To Client # 9 That He Advises President Obama On Foreign Policy

CNN's Fareed Zakaria, host of the weekend show Fareed Zakaria GPS and editor-at-large for Time magazine, admitted on CNN Thursday that he has been advising President Obama on foreign policy matters.

Eliot Spitzer, host of CNN's In the Arena, brought up the fact at the very end of a conversation with Zakaria about Pakistan and foreign policy. Zakaria affirmed it and clarified that "mostly it's been face-to-face meetings...organized by Tom Donilon, the national security advisor."

Noam Chomsky: Bush's Crimes Vastly Exceed Bin Laden's

Bin Laden's Defender: Noam Chomsky

by Alan M. Dershowitz
May 11, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Noam Chomsky has shown his true colors in his recently published "reaction" to the targeted killing of Osama Bin Laden. He apparently thinks Osama Bin Laden is the innocent victim of a cold-blooded murder that is worse than if George W. Bush were to be assassinated in his "compound." He doesn't believe Bin Laden's own admission of complicity in the murder of 3,000 people on 9/11, writing that it is about as credible as Chomsky's "confession that I won the Boston Marathon." Nor does he believe the evidence gathered by the 9/11 Commission, the grand jury that indicted Bin Laden, the numerous confessions and claims of responsibility by Al Qaeda operatives, and the video showing those who flew the planes in the presence of Osama Bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri. He believes there is absolutely no "evidence"—"nothing serious"—that Bin Laden played any role in 9/11. He also accuses President Obama of "simply lying when he said, in his White House statement, that 'we quickly learned that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by Al Qaeda.'" To avoid any appearance of partisanship and to show that he is an equal opportunity despiser of all American presidents, he writes that "uncontraversally" President Bush's "crimes vastly exceed bin Laden's." Media Blackout? Yemeni Passenger Was Shouting 'Allahu Akbar'

The U.S. media, which bends over and grabs their ankles every time an incident occurs which involves Middle Eastern men screaming "Allahu Akbar!", are the useful idiots that Lenin was referring to. In their rush to squelch any news that a person or persons who try to bring down airliners, shoot up Army bases and recruiting stations, and a number of other incidents, the media twists the story and report that the perpetrator(s):
Are Deranged
Acting Alone
No Evidence of Ties To Terrorism
Were Having Financial Difficulties
Have A Family Just Like You and I

While the media fails to report:
The man is Middle Eastern
He Shouting Out "Allahu Akbar"
Has travelled numerous times to Yemen or some other terrorist enclave repeatedly.

When is the media going to held to account for their acquiesence to radical islamists propaganda that our concerns are just Islamaphobia, and report these incidents in a manner which informs the public that, yes there are jihadists in our midst, and we need to be aware of them?

Democracy Uprising My Ass!

Posted by Brian
Events that have transpired over the last few months in the Middle East, from Tunisia to Egypt, Yemen to Libya, and now Syria, have been described as "spontaneous" democracy movements by media, the U.N, and leftists all over the world.
The Egyptian riots were so spontaneous that there were leftist groups from the United States in Tahrir Square in Cairo on day one of the riots.  We are expected to believe that the far-left Code Pink just happened to show up in the square on day ONE(!) on a lark.  What luck!  What other groups may have been there is anybody's guess.  The media were so caught up in their own euphoria of a "peoples" uprising that they became cheerleaders rather than finding out who was organizing all of the groups.
Eventually they got around to saying that the Muslim Brotherhood was involved in the overthrow of Mubarak, but it was reported that they were just a tiny fraction of the groups involved and had no real power. Now we find that the Muslim Brotherhood has a very prominent place at the table of the new government and are looking to gain at least 50% of the parlimentary seats the upcoming elections. So much for a minor role.
Even in Libya, the reports of Brotherhood and possibly al Qaeda influences have been downplayed by a media stuck on naive and stupid.  I'm no fan of Khadaffi or Mubarak, but a Middle East with countries across Northern Africa falling like dominoes, and which all may end up under the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood, is not neccesarily preferable to the previous regimes.
The Muslim Brotherhood has as their goals the destruction of Israel, and a worldwide Muslim caliphate. Is it really that much of a leap to think that all of these countries, would just happen to, if they all fall, end up under the political thumb of the Muslin Brotherhood and would virtually surround Israel. Think of it: Tunisia, Egypt Yemen, Libya, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Syria, all in short order, have spontaneous uprisings.  But there's no coordination by other groups.  Hell, the media says there's not, so it must be true!
So how is the democracy movement going in Egypt?  Well, since the the influence of the Brotherhood has increased, so has violence against the Coptic Christian population in the country. In general, attacks on Christian churches have been increasing in the Middle East from Cairo to Baghdad.
The Muslim Brotherhood, along with Hamas and Hezbollah is gaining strength in the this region, while the U.S. and Europe are exhibiting weakness in the handling of the entire situation, these groups taking complete advantage of of every perceived weakness.
The average person in some of these countries may in fact be wishing for democratic change,  but these islamist groups are going to discard these naive idealists as soon as the usefullness is exhausted, as is happening in Egypt, where some of the protestors were left-wing Christians who are the very persons now being burned out of their churches by the islamists they aligned themselves with, against Mubarak.
There is a saying that my enemy's enemy is my friend.  The danger is when your enemy's enemy is no longer there.

Muslims Attack Christians in Egypt, at least 12 Killed, 232 Injured; churches set ablaze

By Kristen Chick
The "Arab Spring" continues to look a lot like winter
JewishWorldReview.com

CAIRO— (TCSM) An attack by Muslims on two churches in Cairo led to sectarian clashes that claimed at least 12 lives, a reminder that Egypt's religious rift has continued to widen since the successful uprising that pushed Hosni Mubarak from power.

The violence in the Cairo neighborhood of Imbaba, declared in the 1990's to be "liberated" from the Egyptian state by Islamist militants, also highlights the growing role the salafis, a small and strident Muslim sect, are playing in exacerbating sectarian tensions. The salafy strain of Islam, which feeds most militant Sunni movements, was publicly repressed under Mubarak and has been taking advantage of the more open environment since his downfall.
