Image via WikipediaHistorically, Caliph (Khalifa) is the title given to those individuals who succeeded Muhammad after his death as the leader of the Muslims. The Arabic word khalifa means successor, and the full title khalifatu rasulil-lah means “successor to the messenger of Allah”. The Caliph is to be the political, military and administrative leader of all Muslims. The Caliph is the Pope, President and General of the Islamic world all wrapped into one. The office and government of the Caliph is known as the Caliphate (Khilafat). The Caliphate is the only form of government fully sanctioned within early Islamic theology. The purpose of the Caliphate is to govern the Islamic world under the Islamic Shariah law. Caliphs were also referred to with other titles such as Imam al-Ummah (leader of the Muslim community) or Amir al-Mu’minin (Commander of the Faithful).
From Muhammad’s death until the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1923, various Caliphates or dynasties ruled the Islamic world. The most significant Caliphates in historical order were the Rashidun, the Abbasid, the Umayyid, and finally the Ottoman. At times in Muslim history, there have even been rival claimant Caliphs in different parts of the Muslim world. Although the purpose of the Caliphate is to unify all Muslims worldwide, rarely has this genuinely been the case. Islamists however often downplay this fact and instead portray the first thirteen hundred years of Islam through a highly idealized lens:
From the first moment of its creation, the Islamic State implemented the Shariah comprehensively, conducted the affairs of the society solely according to Islam, and propagated Islam throughout the world for over thirteen centuries. Occasionally internal tensions fractured the integrity of the State, but incidents were short-lived. Throughout its thirteen centuries of existence, the Khalifa continued as a single indivisible entity that united all the Muslims under a single authority.

While Michelle Obama is telling the rest of the country what they should eat, how much they should eat, and how much salt to put on it, she and the anointed one are letting the rest of the country know that their message is only for us poor, uneducated plebes out in the heartland. Michelle Obama, our new "fat czar", is out there telling schools to put in salad bars, and restaurants to cut fat and sell smaller portions. Leaving out the fact that Michelle Obama is holding closed door meetings with advisors and the National Restaurant Association, which may be a violation of the Closed Door Meeting Law, her role in this is ham-handed and more than a little hypocritical.

John Fund took Anthony (Screech) Weiner and Bill Maher to the cleaners on a recent episode of "Real Time", Bill Maher's show on HBO.
Maher, who has made a career of using ad hominem attacks on people he disagrees with, pulling quotes out of context and mixing them with sometimes clever and funny insults, looks baffled when confronted by someone who challenges him with actual facts and intellectual arguments. John Fund, who found himself defending Glenn Beck and Ginni Thomas (the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas), did so with facts which even the great "intellectual giant" Bill Maher was unable to refute. In the end, Maher and Weiner came across a petty and not particularly informed on the issues they were attempting to debate.

Hot on the heels of his interview with Bill O'Reilly, in which President Obama denied believing in wealth redistribution, the President tells the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in a not-so-veiled threat, that if companies increase their profits, those profits must be "shared" with workers. Coming from the President, this statement is a clear warning to business, that if they don't use their profits the way government thinks that they should, government may step in to redistribute them the way government thinks is "fair".
A socialist by any other name is still a Marxist.

Ron Reagan Jr. Has Less in Common with His Dad Than Sarah Palin

Politically, Sarah Palin is much closer to Ronald Reagan than Ron Jr., who is unabashedly liberal. He criticizes her for turning her popularity into a source of income and is not a serious candidate. Although Ron Jr., who to my knowledge doesn't use his name for political reasons and has no political ambitions, he has certainly taken advantage of his father's name over the years to enrich himself, so he comes off as more than a little hypocritical.

The Obama Administration, in all of its arrogance, is choosing to ignore the decision passed down by a federal judge declaring ObamaCare unconstitutional and that the "entire act must be declared void" (Pg 75 and 76 of the ruling - see transcript below). What we have is a President and an Administration choosing to willfully violate the law. This is the second time that this administration has blatantly ignored court orders, the other being the Obama Administration's willful continuation of a deep-water drilling moratorium, in violation of a court order in that case. Yet, most of the media is silent on this, or knowingly mis-reporting the facts in both of these cases.
This bunch in the White House, along with their propagadists in the mainstream media, have gone beyond sheer arrogance and are now entering behavior that is criminal. The President and all of his appointees took an oath to "Uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States". When they knowingly violate that oath of office, how is that not an impeachable offense? At what point do the people of this country say "enough is enough" and demand that this lawless Government and its officials be held accountable?
For those of you who wanted "change" from this bunch of leftists - this is what it looks like. A government with complete disregard for laws and the Constitution of the United States.

Newsbusters reports Friday that radio talk show host Mark Levin – himself an attorney - had harsh words for the Obama administration:
I said that if the administration failed to follow the law, then it was lawless. (I said that) it was violating the constitution, that this was a serious as Watergate.

The US Campaign to end the Israeli Occupation is a co-production of Global Exchange/CodePink/United for Peace and Justice (UFPJ) (All founded by Medea Benjamin), and a group called the Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR).
The Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR) has been organizing on the ground in Palestinian territories since 1996.
One of the mainstream Progressive organizations that has pledged its support to this anti-Israel movement is the Progressive Democrats of America, a group organized by Rep. Maxine Waters, Rep. Lynn Woolsey, Rep. Barbara Lee, Rep. John Conyers, Rep. Donna Edwards, Tom Hayden (founder of SDS), and Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans of Global Exchange/CodePink.

Code Pink Helping To Overthrow Egypt Government

If you still think that Code Pink is a bunch of harmless little old ladies running around in pink shirts and hats yelling "Stop The War" and "Peace", think again. Code Pink is a far-left organization with both Islamic terrorist and Marxist ties.They are radically anti-semitic and are right in the middle of the riots in Egypt, with Code Pink's founde,r Medea Benjamin, doing video reports from the epicenter of the riots in Tahir Square. As I hear of more of these groups like Code Pink and the Muslim Brotherhood being involved, with "boots on the ground" since the inception of the riots, I have to wonder how much of this was a "spontaneous" grassroots uprising, or if it is a well-coordinated coup of the Egyptian leadership.

Obama fundraiser group Code Pink issued an emergency appeal on Thursday for thousands of dollars to help the group overthrow the Egyptian government of Hosni Mubarak.
Code Pink, which has a history of working with enemies of the Egyptian government Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, said in the appeal it wanted to raise $5,000 to fund "the next big uprising" against the Egyptian government on Friday.
As we reported previously, Code Pink has been on the ground in Cairo since the beginning of the uprising. The group has made nine trips to Egypt in the past two years as part of a campaign to undermine the Egyptian government and the blockade against Hamas-controlled Gaza.
The headline for the appeal published at the Web site of Code Pink's fundraising partner Democracy in Action reads:
"Help us raise $5,000 in emergency funds today to support the Egyptian revolution!"

California's sweeping plan to institute cap and trade and regulate "greenhouse gases" has been thrown out by a San Francisco judge.
SFGate.com reports:
The California Air Resources Board violated state environmental law in 2008 when it adopted a comprehensive plan to reduce greenhouse gases and again last year when it passed cap-and-trade regulations, a San Francisco Superior Court judge has ruled in a tentative decision.
