Noam Chomsky: Bush's Crimes Vastly Exceed Bin Laden's

Alan Dershowitz, no right-winger by any stretch, skewers one of the heroes of the far left, anti-American crowd, Noam Chomsky, in this excellent piece from "Hudson New York".

Bin Laden's Defender: Noam Chomsky

by Alan M. Dershowitz
May 11, 2011 at 4:00 pm

Noam Chomsky has shown his true colors in his recently published "reaction" to the targeted killing of Osama Bin Laden. He apparently thinks Osama Bin Laden is the innocent victim of a cold-blooded murder that is worse than if George W. Bush were to be assassinated in his "compound." He doesn't believe Bin Laden's own admission of complicity in the murder of 3,000 people on 9/11, writing that it is about as credible as Chomsky's "confession that I won the Boston Marathon." Nor does he believe the evidence gathered by the 9/11 Commission, the grand jury that indicted Bin Laden, the numerous confessions and claims of responsibility by Al Qaeda operatives, and the video showing those who flew the planes in the presence of Osama Bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri. He believes there is absolutely no "evidence"—"nothing serious"—that Bin Laden played any role in 9/11. He also accuses President Obama of "simply lying when he said, in his White House statement, that 'we quickly learned that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by Al Qaeda.'" To avoid any appearance of partisanship and to show that he is an equal opportunity despiser of all American presidents, he writes that "uncontraversally" President Bush's "crimes vastly exceed bin Laden's." Mohammad Mamdouh and Ahmed Serhani Arrested in Terrorist Plot Against NYC Synagogue; AP Neglects to Name Them in Report   h/t to Breitbart

Strangely, in this report from the Associated Press, the names of the suspects are not revealed. We repeat, their names are Mohammad Mamdouh and Ahmed Serhani. Strange that AP did not mention this in the report.

The New York Times reported the suspects' names twelve hours ago in their report and this AP report was released eight hours after the Times' story.

Rachel Maddow: The Left's Version Of Joe McCarthy?

Maddow Enlists Viewers To Out Animator Of Huckabee History Series

Rachel Maddow engages in a strange--sinister?--irony. On her MSNBC show, one moment Maddow condemns the late Senator Joe McCarthy for encouraging people to "turn in their friends" in the entertainment industry. The next moment, Maddow urges her viewers to . . . turn in someone in the entertainment industry--the animator of Mike Huckabee's history series for kids.

Media Blackout? Yemeni Passenger Was Shouting 'Allahu Akbar'

The U.S. media, which bends over and grabs their ankles every time an incident occurs which involves Middle Eastern men screaming "Allahu Akbar!", are the useful idiots that Lenin was referring to. In their rush to squelch any news that a person or persons who try to bring down airliners, shoot up Army bases and recruiting stations, and a number of other incidents, the media twists the story and report that the perpetrator(s):
Are Deranged
Acting Alone
No Evidence of Ties To Terrorism
Were Having Financial Difficulties
Have A Family Just Like You and I

While the media fails to report:
The man is Middle Eastern
He Shouting Out "Allahu Akbar"
Has travelled numerous times to Yemen or some other terrorist enclave repeatedly.

When is the media going to held to account for their acquiesence to radical islamists propaganda that our concerns are just Islamaphobia, and report these incidents in a manner which informs the public that, yes there are jihadists in our midst, and we need to be aware of them?

Democracy Uprising My Ass!

Posted by Brian
Events that have transpired over the last few months in the Middle East, from Tunisia to Egypt, Yemen to Libya, and now Syria, have been described as "spontaneous" democracy movements by media, the U.N, and leftists all over the world.
The Egyptian riots were so spontaneous that there were leftist groups from the United States in Tahrir Square in Cairo on day one of the riots.  We are expected to believe that the far-left Code Pink just happened to show up in the square on day ONE(!) on a lark.  What luck!  What other groups may have been there is anybody's guess.  The media were so caught up in their own euphoria of a "peoples" uprising that they became cheerleaders rather than finding out who was organizing all of the groups.
Eventually they got around to saying that the Muslim Brotherhood was involved in the overthrow of Mubarak, but it was reported that they were just a tiny fraction of the groups involved and had no real power. Now we find that the Muslim Brotherhood has a very prominent place at the table of the new government and are looking to gain at least 50% of the parlimentary seats the upcoming elections. So much for a minor role.
Even in Libya, the reports of Brotherhood and possibly al Qaeda influences have been downplayed by a media stuck on naive and stupid.  I'm no fan of Khadaffi or Mubarak, but a Middle East with countries across Northern Africa falling like dominoes, and which all may end up under the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood, is not neccesarily preferable to the previous regimes.
The Muslim Brotherhood has as their goals the destruction of Israel, and a worldwide Muslim caliphate. Is it really that much of a leap to think that all of these countries, would just happen to, if they all fall, end up under the political thumb of the Muslin Brotherhood and would virtually surround Israel. Think of it: Tunisia, Egypt Yemen, Libya, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Syria, all in short order, have spontaneous uprisings.  But there's no coordination by other groups.  Hell, the media says there's not, so it must be true!
So how is the democracy movement going in Egypt?  Well, since the the influence of the Brotherhood has increased, so has violence against the Coptic Christian population in the country. In general, attacks on Christian churches have been increasing in the Middle East from Cairo to Baghdad.
The Muslim Brotherhood, along with Hamas and Hezbollah is gaining strength in the this region, while the U.S. and Europe are exhibiting weakness in the handling of the entire situation, these groups taking complete advantage of of every perceived weakness.
The average person in some of these countries may in fact be wishing for democratic change,  but these islamist groups are going to discard these naive idealists as soon as the usefullness is exhausted, as is happening in Egypt, where some of the protestors were left-wing Christians who are the very persons now being burned out of their churches by the islamists they aligned themselves with, against Mubarak.
There is a saying that my enemy's enemy is my friend.  The danger is when your enemy's enemy is no longer there.

Muslims Attack Christians in Egypt, at least 12 Killed, 232 Injured; churches set ablaze

By Kristen Chick
The "Arab Spring" continues to look a lot like winter
JewishWorldReview.com

CAIRO— (TCSM) An attack by Muslims on two churches in Cairo led to sectarian clashes that claimed at least 12 lives, a reminder that Egypt's religious rift has continued to widen since the successful uprising that pushed Hosni Mubarak from power.

The violence in the Cairo neighborhood of Imbaba, declared in the 1990's to be "liberated" from the Egyptian state by Islamist militants, also highlights the growing role the salafis, a small and strident Muslim sect, are playing in exacerbating sectarian tensions. The salafy strain of Islam, which feeds most militant Sunni movements, was publicly repressed under Mubarak and has been taking advantage of the more open environment since his downfall.

UK Provides Example To U.S. - Public Sector Unions Drain Taxpayers

Posted by Brian
Private vs. Public Sector Unions
The union protests in Wisconsin only gave us a glimpse of what is to come in the U.S. in the battle between unions and private, non-union workers.  Up to this point, the debate has focused on unions. But there needs to be a distinction made between unions in the private sector and those that negotiate with government.
Private sector unions have collective bargaining, health care plans, retirement plans through programs such as 401K's and stock options, and help ensure that workers have safe work conditions and competitive pay.
Public sector unions, on the other hand, were originally put in place to ensure fairness in the workplace to identify discrimination in hiring, identifying cases of favoritism, harrassment cases, and workplace safety.  In federal jobs, collective bargaining by the unions is prohibited as wages and benefits are mandated by Congress. It is at the state level that collective bargaining has gotten out of control.
Why the difference in how public and private sector unions should operate?  Unions that negotiate with private companies and corporations bargain with company CEO's or boards that are responsible for the overall financial health of the company or corporation.  In addition, they are negotiating with money that belongs to that company or shareholders, some of whom may be employees of the company.  It is in the interest of both that the company remain profitable and healthy.  Failing to do so hurts both the management and the union employees.  Pay and benefit demands that bankrupt the company put all of them out of work.
Public sector unions that have collective bargaining are an entirely different beast.  First, and foremost: who do public sector unions (like SEIU) represent?  Their members are "public servants".  That is, they work for and are paid by the taxpayers.  Any pay and benefits they receive are collected through state income, sales, property, automobile, and other taxes.  In theory, they are negotiating with state representatives at the state capital. But in reality they are negotiating against the taxpayers of the state.  Since they are negotiating with politicians, the system is rife with corruption in the form of "sweetheart" deals in pay and benefits, in exchange for union support and money to keep those same politicians in power.  Unions spend huge amounts of their member's dues on campaign contributions, million dollar ad blitzes and other political dealings.  As a result, pay and benefits for public sector union members have dwarfed those of the private sector.  They are literally to the point of bringing states to their financial knees.  Politicians have cut these deals with the knowledge that they can, and will, raise taxes on the citizens of the state.

The looming problem is that taxpayers can't afford coughing up any more of their hard-earned income to government because their politicians have finally killed the golden goose.  Public sector union leaders have now taken to calling the public "selfish" as taxpayers have begun to fight back against high taxes and runaway government spending as we are seeing with the Tea Party.
The U.S. would do well to pay attention to what is happening in the U.K  We may be looking ourselves in the mirror.

Public sector pay soaring 'out of control'

Public sector workers receive almost 50% more in pay and pensions than their counterparts in private companies, as state wages spiral “hugely out of control”, a report has found.
10:00PM BST 08 May 2011

Government employees have increased their advantage over workers in the private sector since the start of the recession, with higher pay rises, more generous pensions and better holiday deals.

In every region of the UK except Yorkshire, the gap in pay between public and private employees widened between 2008 and 2010, with the largest gulf in Wales and the North-West, according to the study from the think-tank, Policy Exchange.

Only at the very top of the scale, where the highest earners include bankers, footballers and television stars, do private sector salaries outstrip those in the state professions.

Nancy Pelosi Wants To Kill Seniors and the Poor

Nancy PelosiImage via Wikipedia
Posted by Brian

Yes. You read me right. Nancy Pelosi, the biggest political hack to ever hold the positions of Speaker of the House, is advocating the killing of senior citizens. And the poor. And Children. Women and minorities will be hardest hit under her plans, as they have been under every liberal plan since FDR and Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society.
Normally, this is the cry of the liberals and progressives in the Democrat Party to any cuts proposed by conservative Republicans.  But, as Joe Biden likes to say, "facts are stubborn things".
Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty" has been an unmitigated disaster. We have spent well in excess of $7 trillion since 1964 on this "war" and what is there to show for it?
Nearly one-quarter of ALL blacks (23%) live below the poverty line.
62% of black households are single parent homes.
Over 1 in 2 Americans receive some form of government benefit.
According to the Heritage Foundation, the U.S. spends 13 times the amount it spent on welfare in the 1960s—about four times the amount needed to pull every poor family out of poverty. However, welfare programs have failed to address the causes of poverty, and the federal poverty rate remains nearly unchanged.
In fact, nearly every statistic related to poverty has increased since Johnson's "War on Poverty" - crime, out of wedlock biths, abortion, fatherless families, people on food stamps, welfare, WIC, etc.  The list goes on and on. It's a national tragedy.
Right on cue, here is Nancy Pelosi, once again going before the microphones attempting to scare the hell out of seniors, many poor and on fixed incomes.  Pelosi returns to her hack playbook to slam "Big Oil", a predictable target, and to revisit the worn out tactic of putting seniors in a panic over losing Medicare coverage.
Two problems:  One is that the Paul Ryan plan she is attacking doesn't touch Medicare for those over 55 years old.  Medicare for that age dynamic stays exactly the same.  No vouchers.  No cuts.  The same cannot be said for Obama's healthcare plan, which Pelosi enthusiastically pushed through, and in which Pelosi famously stated: "We need to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it."
"What is in it" is billions of dollars in cuts to Medicare, which are transferred to Medicaid. Can you say rationing of services?
Two is the predictable bogeyman, "Big Oil", of whom she and the Democrats continuously hold up as the root of all problems that we face.  The oil companies pay about $100 million dollars a day to the federal government in taxes. It is laughable that the Democrats repeatedly trot out the claim that this industry doesn't pay taxes. I know, theoretically they don't, as increases in their overhead costs get passed on to the consumer.  In reality, you and I pay those taxes through higher prices at the pump.  Now, Pelosi is not stupid.  She knows this. Yet, she can't help herself. Progressives in this country have successfully demonized an industry which literally drives the entire economy.  And they do it at the expense of those they supposedly care about - the elderly and the poor.
If Pelosi and the Democrats are successful in eliminating tax breaks for the oil industry, gas, heating oil, and diesel will jump in price.  In fact, the "trickle down" effect is higher prices in food, clothing, electricity, and other goods and services.  In effect, higher costs across the board.
What effect would this have on the poor and the elderly, especially in those states where heating oil is a staple in the winter?  The thought of elderly people on fixed incomes, and poor families having to make the choice between food and not freezing to death in the winter, is a tough thought for too many Americans to envision.
Raising taxes, increasing regulations, and blocking new drilling and refineries through EPA mandates will only create higher prices, putting a greater strain on those who are already making tough budget decisions, juggling bills, and pinching pennies to survive month to month.
So Nancy, why do you and the rest of the Democrats want to kill seniors, children, and poor minorities?

Obama Transforms Himself Into Captain America

Posted by Brian
Obama has wrapped himself in the American flag like he was born to it

Obama, Osama, and Wagging the Dog
- Jim O'Neill Friday, May 6, 2011

“There’s something awfully screwy going on around here.”—Elmer Fudd

It’s no joke that ever-increasingly the American people distrust the news media. I would imagine that the Marxist/Fascist/NWO globalists must find it tiresome to have spent all that time, effort, and money to infiltrate, subvert, and pervert America’s various news venues, just to have “we the people” do an end-round, and get our news from the Internet and radio. Well, the best laid plans o’ mice and men, and all that.

“We the people” find ourselves in a classic “tail wagging the dog” situation, where the large American electorate, who should wield the power in the United States, are being controlled, manipulated, and conned by a relatively small number of people in the federal government—for nefarious ends I might add. Link

Although the freshman class of Congress critters who were elected into office back in November gives one hope, it will take a small army of people with the character and integrity of, say Allen West, to undertake the herculean task of cleaning out the bulls—t-caked Augean stables of Washington D.C.

Amtrak at 40: Over $1 Billion in Red Every Year Since 2000

As the Federal Government is touting plans for a new national high speed rail system, the governments other foray into public rail has cost the taxpayers over $50 Billion in just 40 years.  Just another example of the inefficiency of government.

Amtrak Turns 40…Called a ‘Massive Failure’ by its Founder
Posted on May 7, 2011 at 5:01pm by Mike Opelka Mike Opelka  h/t The Blaze

This week kicks off the 40th Anniversary of the money-sucking, inefficient, outmoded national rail system we call Amtrak.

Amtrak – the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (that’s the official name) was born during the Nixon administration.

Amtrak is:

  • Government owned and controlled
  • Union-operated, employing more than 20,000 workers
  • Has a CEO appointed by the president of the United States
  • Its annual budget is allocated allocated by Congress.

What could possibly go wrong? Plenty.

Al Jazeera Capitalizes On Obama Administration Incoherence On Bin Laden Killing

Posted by Brian
When a person thinks of collossal collapses, one usually thinks of sports. The 1964 Phillies blowing a 6 and a half game lead with 12 games left in the season. The Houston Oilers blowing a 35-3 3rd quarter lead to the Buffalo Bills in the 1992 wild-card  game. Greg Norman blowing a six stroke lead in the final round of the 1996 Masters.
I think we can add to that the inexplicable incompetence of the Obama Administration in putting out anything resembling a coherent, or consistent account of the operation which killed Osama Bin Laden. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of a certain political and PR victory.  This is Michael Jordan clanging his signature slam dunk off the back of the rim and the ground ball between Buckner's legs rolled into one.
The message coming out of the White House has been so incoherent that it is they who are fueling conspiracy theories and raising questions of the actual legality of the operation itself!  Al Jazeera, who the White House has touted as being the best "source" for all things in the Middle East, are now raising those questions, and others, which will certainly be spread throughout the Arab world.  You can bet they won't put the U.S. in a favorable light.
Obama continues to destroy what shreds of respect we have left in the world with his total incompetence, even with what should have been a PR and military grand slam.

Was bin Laden's killing and burial legal?

Key change in narrative of bin Laden's death sparks suspicion over possible legal violations.
Sangwon Yoon Last Modified: 05 May 2011 20:07

A key detail in the initial narrative of the historic operation that killed the world's most wanted man – al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden – has proven to be inconsistent, raising concerns about what really happened at the lavish gated compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

US president Barack Obama and his officials announced Sunday night that bin Laden "was engaged in a firefight" and was killed by US Navy SEAL commandos after an intense exchange. But the story was altered when White House press secretary acknowledged on Tuesday that bin Laden was unarmed when shot dead.

Amid accusations of possible violations of international laws, the US attorney general justified the raid "as an action of national self-defence" against "a lawful military target".

Boosted by Obama's refusal to release photos of bin Laden's body, suspicions of foul play during the 40-minute high-profile covert operation are being posed:

If bin Laden was an unarmed target, how can the SEAL commandos' lethal gunshots qualify as an act of self-defence against an imminent risk during a high-profile covert operation?

Did the US have the right to perform a targeted killing against Osama bin Laden?

Was it legal for the US to carry out a military operation on Pakistani territory without notifying its government?

Why was bin Laden's burial held in such haste?

Experts weigh in.

Osama bin Laden dead: al-Qaeda 'planning to attack trains on 9/11 anniversary'

Computer files seized during the raid on Osama bin Laden's hideout show al-Qaeda were planning a "spectacular" attack on trains in the US on September 11, 2011, the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy.

The terrorist network is thought to have been planning to tamper with tracks so that a train would be derailed while crossing a bridge or valley, potentially killing hundreds of passengers.
The plan, developed in February last year, was disclosed by the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which issued a warning about it to law enforcement agencies around the US.

Mileage Tax: Device Would Be Installed On Every Vehicle

Posted by Brian
While everyone is focused on the mass inconsistencies in the stories regarding the OBL killing, Obama and the Democrats are full speed ahead on numerous fronts in their statist agenda.  One is putting an electronic device on every vehicle which would log every mile that you drive, and which would then be tacked onto your gas bill at a service station. The claim is that it would be used for highway funds.  Apparently, the taxes already tacked onto gas for highway funds is not enough for these vampires, so they need to throw another tax onto the numerous taxes that already are "marked" for highways.
How about this: this little electronic device, besides logging your mileage, also logs everywhere you go, which is then uploaded to Big Brother everytime you pull in to fill up your vehicle. The government now has a way to track the whereabouts of everybody in the country.
Food for thought.

Sharia Alert! Latest Islamic Honor Killing In Michigan

Posted by Brian
Islamic honor killings in the United States are generally under-reported and under-acknowledged.  To acknowledge that this behavior is on the rise would be "culturally insensitive" to those on the left and to those who have their heads firmly planted in the sand. However, not acknowledging these acts does not make the practice magically go away - it makes it more difficult for government officials and those in the media from identifying and reporting these acts as "honor killings", which  inhibits public policy makers from developing solutions and educating the public about this barbaric practice.
I find it amazing that women's rights groups are not stepping up to address this issue, as the vast majority of honor killings are perpetrated against women and young girls.  The problem is that most of these women's rights groups are on the far left, and are more concerned with being culturally sensitive, thus they have now twisted themselves into a politically correct knot which has paralyzed them on this issue.  While women are being slaughtered, they are silent.

Just a few of the honor killings in the United States:
Kentucky - Said Biyad “brutally” killed his four children — Goshany, Khadija, Fatuma and Sidi Ali, ages 2 through 8 — and raped and assaulted his wife.
Illinois - Noor Almaleki, 20, who died Nov. 2 after she and her boyfriend's mother were run over in a Peoria, Ariz., parking lot by Almaleki's father, Faleh Almaleki.
Arizona - Faleh Hassan Almaleki, 48, of Glendale, Ariz., is accused of running over his daughter, Noor Almaleki, and another woman in his Jeep Cherokee because he was infuriated with his daughter for becoming "too Westernized."
Texas - On New Year’s Day 2008, two Texas teenagers Amina and Sarah Said were shot dead, their bloodied bodies left in a taxi cab. The alleged shooter: their father Yaser Said. In fact, Sarah appears to identify her Dad as the murderer in a 9-11 call – her dying words.

Shariah-The Threat To America: Report of Team B II

Religious Bias Crimes (2000-2009):  Muslim, Christian & Jewish Victims

Introduction

Misperceptions about religious bias hate crimes in America are widespread. This study is a longitudinal comparison of religious bias hate crimes, as reported by the FBI, from the pre-9/11 year of 2000 through 2009, the most recent year for which statistics were available.[1] The assertion that religious bias hate crimes against one group in particular, Muslims in America, have proliferated in the years since the attacks of September 11, 2001 has gained acceptance within media and government, thanks to a steady drumbeat of assertions to this effect from a small but vocal group of advocacy organizations.

Internationally, the most aggressive of these is the 57 member state Organization of the Islamic Conference, with its so-called “Islamophobia Observatory.” In the U.S., the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)[2] and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC)[3] have taken the lead in issuing claims that discrimination and religious bias hate crimes against Muslims are increasing.[4] These organizations have also asserted that “Islamophobia” and statements critical of Islam, Shariah law, or political Islamist organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood may be linked to the alleged rise in hate crimes. Alternatively, counterterrorism expert Steve Emerson has suggested “In advancing the notion that government policy has resulted in an undeserved backlash against ordinary Muslims, CAIR seeks to muster opposition to the anti-terror laws it finds objectionable.”[5]
