This first in a series of pieces by Tucker Carlson, Vince Coglianese, Alex Pappas and Will Rahn show how Media Matters for America (MMfA) not only twist innocuous things into blockbuster news items, but how other members of the media, and even the White House, take MMfA's lead to coordinate their stories. For years I have heard talk radio titan Rush Limbaugh play audio montages of news anchors, pundits and politicians use the exact same verbiage in their "reporting". Now, it all makes sense. MMfA puts it out, and everyone from reporters at the Washington Post to MSNBC to The Daily Kos are reporting the exact same thing, sometimes with little to no change. I have spoken about "media malpractice" in the past, when a story is so over-the-top that even cursory investigation will prove a piece to be not only inaccurate, but an outright lie. Yet, even when they are caught red-handed, the media poo-poo the notion that they are biased and chalk it up to an "honest mistake". No retraction. No apology. Just move on to the next hit piece.
Media Matters is a threat to the country and needs to be shut down. A little harsh you say? What about the First Amendment? Freedom of the press is one of our most basic rights. But when the press is willfully lying to the American people, it is no longer news. It is propaganda. David Brock is someone that Josef Goebbels would be proud of. Those members of the press who have blindly "reported" what has come out of MMfA should have their press credentials revoked. They no longer have any credibility. As for the White House coordinating, and having weekly strategy meetings with this propaganda group - this should scare the hell out of you!
This is not only a great piece by The Daily caller, it is one of the most important investigative reports since the Watergate days. It exposes an institutional fraud foisted upon the American people by a press that we used to trust to present us with accurate news. I used to say that much of what was reported was opinion wrapped up as news. It's clear now that it is even more insidious than I imagined.
