Dem Robo-Calls Worded To Make Southerners Look Stupid

This poll by the left-leaning PPP sets the narrative for the media. Southerners are a bunch of tooth-challenged, ignorant, redneck hicks. Hell, it's a wonder they walk upright.

On Tuesday’s broadcast of “The Five” on the Fox News Channel, the show’s panel took a shot at the “left-leaning” Public Policy Polling group poll conducted in Alabama and Mississippi in which one of the questions asked, “Do you think Barack Obama is a Christian or a Muslim, or are you not sure?”

The results showed that a surprisingly high number of people believed that Obama was in fact a Muslim, and predictably received breathless coverage on left-leaning MSNBC throughout Monday and Tuesday. However, “The Five” co-panelist Greg Gutfeld had an explanation for the results. Video Here

“It’s funny and Chuck Todd mentioned this before,” Gutfeld said. “This is robocalls, so they are not actually talking to somebody. So, imagine if you are a 14-year-old kid, and you get a phone call, ‘Press 1 if you think Obama is a Christian. Press 2 if you think he is a Muslim.’ I’m going to press Muslim because I’m a kid. It’s funny to me that you have that suggestion as a robocall.”

Nothing that this President does is without political calculation. First off, I'd like to commend the POTUS on his ability to study so thoroughly the March Madness basketball brackets. While the economy continues to be anemic, the American people struggle to make mortgages, or to be able to afford gas for their vehicles, and put food on the table, Obama has learned how to multi-task and fit March Madness into his schedule. Bravo Mr. President!
Equally impressive is that, like past presidents, he has added another annual tradition for the occupant of the Oval Office. Truman began the Thanksgiving tradition of pardoning a turkey. Rutherford B. Hayes began the Easter Egg Roll in 1878. Obama has added annual Hawaii vacations and March Madness picks to the traditions calendar.
His choice of UNC to win it all is, in my opinion, a not-very-well concealed attempt to pander to North Carolinians, who not coincidentally, will be hosting the Democrat Convention this year.  He doesn't want the image of pissed off N. Carolinians aired during this Democrat's signature event.  His approval ratings in the Tar Heel state remain low, with 51% disapproving of his handling of the economy. Snubbing the state in his picks wouldn't have looked good, and UNC is a natural pick.  He can get away with not picking Duke after Coach K. said that "the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets" back in 2009.
This man-child doesn't roll out of bed without checking poll numbers.  You can bet his NCAA picks were just as politicized as every other move he makes.

President Barack Obama is relying on North Carolina to take home the trophy for the best team in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

After two consecutive years of choosing the wrong team, Obama correctly chose the Tar Heels back in 2009 when the team went on to win the championship game against Michigan State, winning 89-72.

'Car Bomb' As Panetta Lands In Afghanistan

A suspected car bomb attack has taken place at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan, Sky Sources have revealed.

The explosion came as US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta flew into Camp Bastion. It is believed that Mr Panetta was still landing or had landed at the time of the alleged attack, but it is not clear if he was a target.

Sky's Stuart Ramsay said the explosion was caused when a vehicle drove on to the runway either during or after the landing.

Sky Sources have been told the explosion was caused by the driver of the vehicle. An investigation has now been launched into the driver's identity.

Holder Justice Dept. Calls TX Voter ID Law Discriminatory

The Holder Justice Department is once again trampling on state's rights.  True to form, the argument is that requiring voters to prove their identity before voting will disenfranchise minorities in disproportionate numbers. In this case it is Hispanic voters who they say will be affected, as registered Hispanic voters are more than twice as likely to to not have a photo ID.
Well, why might that be? Mmm? How many of the registered voters who do not have valid ID should actually be ineligible to vote (not legal citizens).  It shouldn't matter who the person registering is, what their ethnicity or race: to ensure fair elections a person should have to prove that they are the person listed on the registration rolls.
For being the first post-racial administration, race seems to factor into nearly everything that the Holder Justice Department does.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department's civil rights division on Monday objected to a new photo ID requirement for voters in Texas because many Hispanic voters lack state-issued identification.

Texas is the second state in recent months to become embroiled in a court battle with the Justice Department over photo ID requirements for voters.

The Justice Department said Texas officials failed to show that the newly enacted law has neither a discriminatory purpose nor effect.

NAACP: Voter ID Violates Human Rights, Takes Case To UN

Benjamin Jealous and the NAACP, angry about the rise in the number of states passing laws requiring a person to provide photo ID's at polling places, are taking their case to the United Nations.
According to the NAACP the requirements are meant to disenfranchise minority voters.  I guess that, according to Jealous, only white voters have drivers licenses or state issued ID cards with which to drive a car, get on an airplane, cash a check, open a bank account, get on an Amtrak train, buy alcohol, and any number of other ways in which people need this items on a daily basis.
It could also be that Benjamin Jealous and other liberals are afraid that these laws will inhibit the ability of community organizers and and other left wing groups to perpetrate voter fraud on a wide-scale basis.
Jealous and other leftists argue that these laws are designed to suppress minority turnout, yet the data does not bear that claim out. In Georgia, Mississippi, and Indiana minority voting actually increased after voter ID laws were passed.  In fact in Georgia, minorities who voted increased by over 7%, from just under 43% to over 50% between the from the 2006 election to the 2010 election.
This is another attempt by the left to maintain the status quo, whose goal is to maintain power at any cost, while at the same time, keeping both blacks and latinos on the liberal plantation, and keeping them beholden to a government and "civil rights" leaders who maintain a stranglehold on their ability to chase their dreams and be self-sufficient.

NAACP Asking U.N. Human Rights Council to Condemn American Voter ID Laws

(CNSNews.com) – Riled by state-level voting law changes that it alleges are designed to suppress “the political participation of people of color, the poor, the elderly, and the young,” the NAACP is turning to the U.N. Human Rights Council for support.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People president Benjamin Jealous and other association representatives plan to visit Geneva next week to address the HRC, a forum that frequently witnesses clashes between Western democracies and repressive states.

The NAACP delegation hopes the HRC will take up its concerns about legal initiatives such as voter ID laws passed by more than a dozen states, which proponents say are designed to prevent voter fraud but the NAACP charges are part of an orchestrated campaign to disenfranchise minority groups.

Another example of the anti-American leftists squelching patriotism and pushing a "diversity" agenda. American kids are apparently not supposed to show any national pride, yet are to be appreciative of being bombarded with cultural celebrations of Mexico (Cinco de Mayo), Islam (Ramadan), and a host of other forced participatory celebrations. I happen to like going to many of these types of events.  I love the foods and learning of many of the cultural idiosyncrasies that are presented.  But in many of these schools the message is lost as strong-arm educational tactics are used on the students, effectively forcing them to, not just appreciate, but to accept things which may be anathema to their own beliefs.  In fact, these might be less of an issue if all things American, Christian, Jewish, et.al., were not seen as disruptive to a diverse society.  American flags and Judeo Christian symbols are more often than not taught to be divisive, and destructive to the American culture.
To say that kids chanting "USA, USA" is "not who we are" as the coach says, then I have to ask: "Then who are we"?

For starters, we don't use 25 percent of world oil production while holding only 2 percent of world reserves.

 From confused "peak oil" theorists to confused Congressmen, it's all but impossible to hear a discussion of US energy policy without hearing the left's tired refrain: "The United States currently uses 25% of the world oil production but has only 2% of world reserves." The left uses this misinformation to argue against domestic oil drilling, claiming that with only two percent of the world's reserves, we can't possibly have enough oil in the ground to matter.

It's a line which reminds me of Mark Twain's wisdom (which he attributed to Benjamin Disraeli) that "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics." Twain would be proud of these haters of fossil fuels whose "statistics" fall apart upon examination of a couple of definitions and a few pieces of data.

But, then the President also turned around and threw out a bunch of impressive statistics about how domestic oil production has only gone up during his administration, there are a record number of oil rigs operating now, etcetera. ...Anyone? It wasn’t long ago that the White House was angering Israeli leaders with statements seen as critical. But 2012 is an election year, and that makes all the difference.


It was one of those moments you could experience only at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) annual conference. At the lectern was Susan Rice, President Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations. In the audience were 300 rabbis, Jewish-community leaders, and AIPAC delegates who were allowed to attend Rice’s speech, an event left off the public agenda for the conference.

Rice, an African-American, began her remarks by quoting in stilted Hebrew from a traditional Jewish hymn, “Hiney ma tov u’ma-mayim. Shevet akh-im gam ya-chad,” which translates: “Behold how good and pleasing it is for brothers to sit together.” When she finished her speech—about how she and her staff work every day to defend Israel at Turtle Bay—the audience broke into the same song the ambassador had quoted at the start: “Hiney ma tov u’ma-nayim,” everyone sang. “Shevet akh-im gam ya-chad.”

Listening to the speech, it would be hard to discern that Rice had caused a stir with the Israeli government little more than a year ago. At that time, Israeli officials didn’t like her remarks at all. Following an American veto of a resolution condemning Israeli settlement activity in the occupied Palestinian territories, Rice had explained the vote like this: “While we agree with our fellow council members—and indeed, with the wider world—about the folly and illegitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity, we think it unwise for this council to attempt to resolve the core issues that divide Israelis and Palestinians. We therefore regrettably have opposed this draft resolution.”

Former Hawaii elections clerk Tim Adams has now signed an affidavit swearing he was told by his supervisors in Hawaii that no long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate existed for Barack Obama Jr. in Hawaii and that neither Queens Medical Center nor Kapi’olani Medical Center in Honolulu had any record of Obama having been born in their medical facilities.
