NAACP: Voter ID Violates Human Rights, Takes Case To UN

Posted by Brian
Benjamin Jealous and the NAACP, angry about the rise in the number of states passing laws requiring a person to provide photo ID's at polling places, are taking their case to the United Nations.
According to the NAACP the requirements are meant to disenfranchise minority voters.  I guess that, according to Jealous, only white voters have drivers licenses or state issued ID cards with which to drive a car, get on an airplane, cash a check, open a bank account, get on an Amtrak train, buy alcohol, and any number of other ways in which people need this items on a daily basis.
It could also be that Benjamin Jealous and other liberals are afraid that these laws will inhibit the ability of community organizers and and other left wing groups to perpetrate voter fraud on a wide-scale basis.
Jealous and other leftists argue that these laws are designed to suppress minority turnout, yet the data does not bear that claim out. In Georgia, Mississippi, and Indiana minority voting actually increased after voter ID laws were passed.  In fact in Georgia, minorities who voted increased by over 7%, from just under 43% to over 50% between the from the 2006 election to the 2010 election.
This is another attempt by the left to maintain the status quo, whose goal is to maintain power at any cost, while at the same time, keeping both blacks and latinos on the liberal plantation, and keeping them beholden to a government and "civil rights" leaders who maintain a stranglehold on their ability to chase their dreams and be self-sufficient.

NAACP Asking U.N. Human Rights Council to Condemn American Voter ID Laws
By Patrick Goodenough
March 9, 2012

(CNSNews.com) – Riled by state-level voting law changes that it alleges are designed to suppress “the political participation of people of color, the poor, the elderly, and the young,” the NAACP is turning to the U.N. Human Rights Council for support.
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People president Benjamin Jealous and other association representatives plan to visit Geneva next week to address the HRC, a forum that frequently witnesses clashes between Western democracies and repressive states.
The NAACP delegation hopes the HRC will take up its concerns about legal initiatives such as voter ID laws passed by more than a dozen states, which proponents say are designed to prevent voter fraud but the NAACP charges are part of an orchestrated campaign to disenfranchise minority groups.

U.N. Climate Summit: Establish World Government Paid For By The West, Cut CO2 Over 100%

Posted by Brian
Christopher Monckton, who worked in the Number 10 Policy Unit in the 1980'2 under Margaret Thatcher, reports on some of the more outrageous, and even terrifying things coming out of the UN Climate Summit in Durban, South Africa. You know, the stuff we are hearing nothing about from the media. Keep in mind that these people are supposed to be some of the smartest people that we have to offer, and maybe they are if the litmus test is that they come up with a way to totally destroy the West through 11th century solutions, designed to confiscate wealth and put us back to pre-horse and buggy days. Some of the more outrageous plans to combat so-called "man-made" climate change:

  • Giving "rights" to "Mother Earth"
  • Cease wars (no explanation, just stop)
  • Reduce CO2 emissions 50% in eight years, and "over 100%" by 2050.

All of the costs associated with UN mandates would be paid solely by the West, as we are in their view, "solely" responsible for climate change. Third world countries would be exempt from paying a dime, as apparently they contribute no CO2 or other greenhouse gas emissions to the world. Not that this whole summit has anything to do with climate change anyway. The UN and their agencies, especially their council on climate change, are nothing but the latest refuge for displaced Marxists who are using this climate hoax as a means to redistribute wealth, and to further their overall goals of a One-World government, setting up "World Courts", world monetary systems, draconian regulations (which are impossible to meet), and outrageous fines to those who don't  meet these regulations.
The UN has become nothing but an outlet for some of the world's worst dictators and despots to spew propaganda, and to confiscate money from the West.  Remember, this was an organization that had countries like Libya and Iran lecturing the United States on human rights abuses, all while the Obama Administration sat and took it with virtually no fight back.
The UN is certainly no friend to the U.S., or to any other freedom loving country. It is time that the U.S., Great Britain, and our other Western allies all pull out of the UN, which would include not allowing these jerks to set up house in New York.

Special to Climate Depot - Lord Christopher Monckton reports from UN Climate Summit
Durban: what the media are not telling you
By Christopher Monckton of Brenchley in Durban, South Africa

DURBAN, South Africa -- “No high hopes for Durban.” “Binding treaty unlikely.” “No deal this year.” Thus ran the headlines. The profiteering UN bureaucrats here think otherwise. Their plans to establish a world government paid for by the West on the pretext of dealing with the non-problem of “global warming” are now well in hand. As usual, the mainstream media have simply not reported what is in the draft text which the 194 states parties to the UN framework convention on climate change are being asked to approve.
Behind the scenes, throughout the year since Cancun, the now-permanent bureaucrats who have made highly-profitable careers out of what they lovingly call “the process” have been beavering away at what is now a 138-page document. Its catchy title is "Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-Term Cooperative Action Under the Convention -- Update of the amalgamation of draft texts in preparation of [one imagines they mean 'for'] a comprehensive and balanced outcome to be presented to the Conference of the Parties for adoption at its seventeenth session: note by the Chair.” In plain English, these are the conclusions the bureaucracy wants.
The contents of this document, turgidly drafted with all the UN's skill at what the former head of its documentation center used to call “transparent impenetrability”, are not just off the wall – they are lunatic.

Obama Proves Once Again That He Will Never Be Ready For Prime Time

In what looks like something from an SNL sketch, President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama waves at the camera, blocking the president of Mongolia's face, in a photo faux pas with world leaders. Just another incident in a seemingly unending series of publicly embarassing moments for an man who is increasingly looked at by the rest of the world as a political lightweight.

US president warns Texan authorities that execution would put America in breach of international legal obligations

President Barack Obama is attempting to block the execution in Texas on Thursday of a Mexican man because it would breach an international convention and do "irreparable harm" to US interests.

The White House has asked the US supreme court to put the execution of Humberto Leal Garcia on hold while Congress passes a law that would prevent the convicted rapist and murderer from being put to death along with dozens of other foreign nationals who were denied proper access to diplomatic representation before trials for capital crimes.  Read more at UK Guardian

Obama Meddles In Ivory Coast - Demands Christian President Step Down, Backs Muslim

Posted by Brian
IVORY COAST: Barack Hussein Obama demands Christian President step down so Muslim challenger can take over

Posted: April 7, 2011  Author: barenakedislam
In the Ivory Coast it was reported that forces loyal to the Muslim led forces of Alassane Ouattara have just massacred between 800 and 1,000 Christians.

President Laurent Gbagbo, who is Catholic, refuses to step down, despite call from the U.N, other African countries, and the United States.  His victory, and claims of fraud against his challenger, in elections held four months ago, was upheld by Ivory Coast's top legal body.

Obama, who didn't want to be seen as "meddling" in the Iranian elections, has recently found the will to meddle in other countries elections, protests and uprisings all over the Middle East and Africa.

He has been more than willing to call for Mubarak, Ghaddafi, and now Gbagbo to step down.  In Egypt and Libya, which have been called "democracy" movements, though there are multiple signs that the Muslim Brotherhood, and possibly Al Qaeda (in Libya) are behind, or are key in the organizing of these movements, Obama has had no problem backing the rebels.

Now we have Ivory Coast, which has a democratically elected President, which the islamists there don't want, and are slaughtering Christians in order to create chaos, and Obama backs the radical islamist who tried to steal the election through fraud.

At the time this is going being posted, Gbagbo hass been arrested by U.N. Forces and turned over to his successor Ouattara, the man responsible for the slaughter of thousands of Ivory Coast citizens.

Pray for Laurent Gbagbo

U.N. Continues Its Anti-Israel Campaign

Delegitimizing the Jewish State

by Bat Ye'or
Middle East Quarterly Winter 2011, pp. 3-14

In a move that caught the Israeli government and the Jewish world by complete surprise, on October 21, 2010, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared the Tomb of the Hebrew Patriarchs in Hebron and Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem "an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories," admonishing the Israeli decision to add these biblical shrines to the list of Jewish historical and archaeological sites as "a violation of international law."[1]

What is less known, however, is that the driving force behind "the attempt to detach the Nation of Israel from its heritage" (to use Israeli prime minister Netanyahu's words)[2] was the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), which pressured UNESCO to issue the declaration and drafted its initial version.[3] U.N. secretary-general Ban Ki-moon has recently described the OIC as "a strategic and important partner of the U.N."[4] In fact, it has been the OIC that has successfully exploited its marked preponderance at the U.N.—where it constitutes the largest single voting bloc—to turn the world organization and its specialized agencies into effective tools in the attempt to achieve its goals, two of which are to bring about Israel's eventual demise and to "galvanize the umma [Islamic world] into a unified body."[5]  READ MORE--->

The Winner of This Year's 'Best Climate Predictor' Award (Clue: It Wasn't Al Gore!)
By Howard Richman & Raymond Richman

Given the terrible beginning of winter in the U.S. and Europe this year, we ought to reward those who accurately predicted it and condemn those who got it wrong. It's time to choose the winner of this year's "Best Climate Predictor" award. There are five nominees:

1.former Vice President Al Gore,
2.California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger,
3.the IPCC of the United Nations, and
4.British astrophysicist Piers Corbyn. (You say you've never heard of him? You won't be surprised, once you've read his predictions, that the media have ignored him.)

Obama Throws Support Behind U.N. Declaration On Rights Of Indigenous People

In one more touchy-feely, I want the world to love me, feel-good gesture, President Obama came out in support of the U.N. Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous People.  This is a break from past U.S. policy. Though the declaration is non-binding, it opens up a Pandora's Box of reparations, property rights skirmishes, mineral rights, and debates as to who is "qualified" to be labeled indigenous.  This is not merely a U.S. problem.  There are sure to be skirmishes, both verbal and possibly real, in regards to who is qualified in the Middle East, the Near East, Eastern Europe, and many other places.  For President Obama to sign on to this Declaration shows either his naivite', or it exposes his ideological worldview as a redistributionist on a global scale that most of us never saw coming.  - Brian
The Rights of Indigenous Peoples

JINSA Reports     JINSA Report #: 1,048
December 20, 2010

In one of those form-over-substance moments that produce endless opportunity for mischief, President Obama announced that the United States would affix its signature to the United Nation's Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. "The aspiration it affirms, including respect for the institutions and rich cultures of native peoples, are ones we must always seek to fulfill," he said.

Americans happily adapt and adopt parts of other people's cultures (Chinese food unlike anything served in Beijing, pizza Italians wouldn't recognize, St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo parties) and respect other parts (forms of dress, holy days and fasting for Ramadan). But there are "native" cultures that simply do not warrant respect including honor killings, female genital mutilation, slavery, stripping trees for cooking fuel, clubbing baby seals and governance by the sword come to mind.
Worse, in Article 26, the Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples includes a prescription for endless warfare.  READ MORE HERE

If Governments Control The Means Of Communication...

The UN headquarters in New YorkImage via Wikipedia
The U.N., motivated by the WikiLeaks fiasco, may be attempting to use this "event" as a means to set up inter-governmental control of the internet.  They of course deny this, but what a better "false flag" to move forward an agenda of a body whose members openly admit want a one-world governing body? Remember:  "Never let a good crisis go to waste."  - Brian
UN mulls internet regulation options

By John Hilvert on Dec 17, 2010 9:51 AM

WikiLeaks sparks push for tighter controls.

The United Nations is considering whether to set up an inter-governmental working group to harmonise global efforts by policy makers to regulate the internet.

Establishment of such a group has the backing of several countries, spearheaded by Brazil.

At a meeting in New York on Wednesday, representatives from Brazil called for an international body made up of Government representatives that would to attempt to create global standards for policing the internet - specifically in reaction to challenges such as WikiLeaks.

The Brazilian delegate stressed, however, that this should not be seen as a call for an "takeover" of the internet.

New Congress Should Defund and Weaken the EPA

The EPA is unilaterally preparing to enact new rules and mandates at the first of the year.  Rules and mandates which will cause significant increases in energy prices, and unsustainable burdens on many companies, cities and counties.  Unemployment will rise as companies who are unable to comply due to the heavy financial burden close, or lay workers off.  The new Congress should defund and weaken the EPA to avert an economic disaster.  - Brian
The EPA Versus the USA

By Alan Caruba

While Americans are distracted by Christmas preparations, the Environmental Protection Agency is seeking to regulate so-called greenhouse gases (GHG) on January 2, 2011.

More specifically, it would regulate emissions from power plants and other large emitters, which would end the role of coal as the provider of 50% of the electricity Americans require.

UN Official: Global Warming is about Wealth Redistribution!!

IPCC Official: “Climate Policy Is Redistributing The World's Wealth”

Thursday, 18 November 2010 13:16 Neue Zürcher Zeitung .

Climate policy has almost nothing to do anymore with environmental protection, says the German economist and IPCC official Ottmar Edenhofer. The next world climate summit in Cancun is actually an economy summit during which the distribution of the world's resources will be negotiated.

Neue Zürcher Zeitung, 14 November 2010

Interview: Bernard Potter

NZZ am Sonntag: Mr. Edenhofer, everybody concerned with climate protection demands emissions reductions. You now speak of "dangerous emissions reduction." What do you mean?

Ottmar Edenhofer: So far economic growth has gone hand in hand with the growth of greenhouse gas emissions. One percent growth means one percent more emissions. The historic memory of mankind remembers: In order to get rich one has to burn coal, oil or gas. And therefore, the emerging economies fear CO2 emission limits.

But everybody should take part in climate protection, otherwise it does not work.

That is so easy to say. But particularly the industrialized countries have a system that relies almost exclusively on fossil fuels. There is no historical precedent and no region in the world that has decoupled its economic growth from emissions. Thus, you cannot expect that India or China will regard CO2 emissions reduction as a great idea. And it gets worse: We are in the midst of a renaissance of coal, because oil and gas (sic) have become more expensive, but coal has not. The emerging markets are building their cities and power plants for the next 70 years, as if there would be permanently no high CO 2 price.

The new thing about your proposal for a Global Deal is the stress on the importance of development policy for climate policy. Until now, many think of aid when they hear development policies.

That will change immediately if global emission rights are distributed. If this happens, on a per capita basis, then Africa will be the big winner, and huge amounts of money will flow there. This will have enormous implications for development policy. And it will raise the question if these countries can deal responsibly with so much money at all.

That does not sound anymore like the climate policy that we know.

Basically it's a big mistake to discuss climate policy separately from the major themes of globalization. The climate summit in Cancun at the end of the month is not a climate conference, but one of the largest economic conferences since the Second World War. Why? Because we have 11,000 gigatons of carbon in the coal reserves in the soil under our feet - and we must emit only 400 gigatons in the atmosphere if we want to keep the 2-degree target. 11 000 to 400 - there is no getting around the fact that most of the fossil reserves must remain in the soil.

De facto, this means an expropriation of the countries with natural resources. This leads to a very different development from that which has been triggered by development policy.

First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole.

New Obama U.N. Reform Nominee - No U.N. or Diplomatic Experience - Political Payoff?

What is it with this white House?  They consistently put either  the most ideological people  or the least experienced people into positions with an incredible amount of power.  Of the President's advisors on economic issues, 7% have any experience in the private sector (running a business, making a payroll, etc.).  He, in my opinion, goes after those who share his disdain for the free market.  Elite members of academe, whose understanding of economics come out of the breakrooms of Ivy League Schools and Das Capital. That translates to this nominee.  He is not interested in reforming the U.N., so why put a person with solid hard-nosed diplomatic experience into the position? In ObamaWorld, all is well with the U.N. - Brian

Obama Finally Names Nominee for U.N. Reform Post, But He Has No U.N. or Diplomatic Experience

Wednesday, November 17, 2010
By Patrick Goodenough

Joseph Torsella
(CNSNews.com) – Twenty-two months into his administration and almost a year since a previous effort failed, President Obama has nominated an envoy to the United Nations with a mandate focusing on reform.

The delay in putting in place a U.S. permanent representative for U.N. management and reform has drawn fire over the past year. Critics said the delay suggested the administration does not prioritize reform of the organization that gets more than one-fifth of its operating budget from the U.S.

The choice of nominee, a person whose resume includes no United Nations or diplomatic experience, may bring fresh criticism.

The White House announced Monday that, pending Senate approval, the post will go to Joseph Torsella, chairman of the Pennsylvania State Board of Education and a former president and CEO of the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

Torsella narrowly lost a Pennsylvania Democratic primary for a U.S. House of Representatives seat in 2004, and he ran briefly in the early stages of the Democratic primary for the 2010 U.S. Senate race, before withdrawing.

Richard Grenell, who served as spokesman for four U.S. ambassadors to the U.N. during the Bush administration, said Tuesday that neither Obama nor current ambassador to the world body Susan Rice had “given the American people one shred of evidence to show they are interested in reforming the U.N.”

U.S./ Canada Should Leave Anti-Semitic United Nations

U.N. Thugs Strike Again: Payback for Canada’s Support of Israel

2010 October 14  by Christine Williams

It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Canada was denied a seat at the UN security council for the first time in its history. The security council has been hijacked by a coaliton of Islamist thugs and socialist states, and Canada has virtually led the charge in opposing the UN obsession with attacking Israel.

The 2001 Durban I World Conference Against Racism disintegrated into an all out assault against Israel, unjustifiably accusing it of ethnic cleansing, branding it an apartheid state and calling for sanctions and boycotts against it. The anti-Israel onslaught was led by Iran and Yasser Arafat. Yet the conference ignored the unspeakable horror of genocide in Darfur and the black slave trade by Arabs in Mauratania. Canada openly expressed its disapproval.

Then Durban II was boycotted by Canada , Israel, the U.S. , New Zealand, Germany, Italy, Sweden, the Netherlands, Poland and eventually Australia. But Canada led the charge:

Canada was the first country in the world to announce it would not attend the Durban 2 conference. The Governments of Israel, the United States, and much of the European Union later followed Canada’s lead and boycotted the conference. “Canada’s fears that Durban 2 would, like its predecessor Durban 1, descend into an anti-Semitic hatefest were fully vindicated”

Then in September 2009, Canada walked out at the start of Ahmedinejad’s repugnant anti-Israel speech at the UN General Assembly, followed by others, humiliating the Iranian leader as he continued to address a half empty chamber.

And now it’s payback.
