A beating at Church and Brambleton
Wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim.
The victim's friend, a young woman, tried to pull him back into his car. Attackers came after her, pulling her hair, punching her head and causing a bloody scratch to the surface of her eye. She called 911. A recording told her all lines were busy. She called again. Busy. On her third try, she got through and, hysterical, could scream only their location.

in Chicago. In Toledo, Ohio a
78 year old white man is attacked and beaten by a gang of black teens. In
Alabama, 20 black males beat a white male with pipes, chairs, and brass knuckles, leaving him in critical condition. These are but just a few incidents that have happened in the past few months regarding black-on-white crime.
What is their connection? In all of the attacks, the thugs have claimed that the beating was justice "for Trayvon Martin". The 'race-hustlers' message has resonated.
The
New York Times, who in their zeal to create a national story, sensationalized the tragic killing of Trayvon Martin by intentionally inserting a racial component, where no evidence of this being a racially-motivated attack exists. The Times even created a new term to forward their agenda: "White Hispanic". Black-on-black, black-on-white, hispanic-on-black, et.al., just doesn't have the ratings potential as a white-on-black crime, even if they have to invent a new type of "white". Since the initial report from the NYT, a rash of recent black-on-white attacks has created racial tensions not seen since the late sixties.
The fact that George Zimmerman, who is half Peruvian, had a "white sounding" name and was relatively light-skinned, was enough for the Times to find a racial component and create a firestorm to sell papers for the financially struggling paper. For the mainstream media, this was enough to go out and stoke the racial fires even more.

because he was black, rather than because it was late, he felt he looked suspicious, or that the neighborhood he lived in had experienced a
recent rash of break-ins, the media ratcheted up their template that no amount of evidence, or lack thereof, that this was a white-on-black crime, and that it was racially motivated. It was, and is, total bulls**t, and they know it. Controversy sells
This of course led to publicity whores Al "
Crown Heights" Sharpton and Jesse "
Hymietown" Jackson leading rallies, and stoking the fires of racial division even higher. Instead of calling for calm and waiting for all of the evidence to come out (which we still don't know all the facts), Sharpton, Jackson, the
New Black Panthers, and the media have played the role of judge and jury, already convicting Zimmerman.
This sets the stage for a
Rodney King-like situation if a jury, after actually having seen and heard the evidence (
which legal experts have called flimsy), acquits George Zimmerman. Many of us can recall the video of
Reginald Denny being pulled from his truck, and having his head caved in with a concrete block by Damian "Football" Williams. His crime: being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
At every turn, whether it be Sharpton, Jackson, or the President, when given the opportunity, and there have been many, to dial back the rhetoric and the emotions associated with this, they have stoked the emotions even higher. President Obama, when given the opportunity to speak, didn't call for cooler heads to prevail, as a leader would (and should), but made the now famous asinine remark that if he "had a son, he would look like Trayvon". Pure political drivel which did nothing to dampen the rising emotions.
If the jury fails to convict George Zimmerman, and many think that is probable based on an indictment that overreaches on the 2nd-degree murder charge, riots such as we saw in L.A. in 1992 may break out around the country. If they do, this will be the legacy of
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and President Obama in the Trayvon Martin case. When given the opportunity to do the right thing, personal fame and fortune won out once again.
