Due to "unidentified complaints", the
New Rochelle, NY city council ordered that a local veteran's group Gadsden Flag be removed and confiscated, because the flag is actually a "Tea Party symbol". Though there have been people at Tea Party rallies that have worn or flown the Gadsden flag, it is not the Tea Party symbol. But, SO WHAT! What if it was!
Aside from these miscreant complainants being historically wrong, where in the Constitution does it say that we are
immune from being offended? The Gadsden symbol dates back to at least 1775, predating the rise of the Tea Party by almost 235 years, showing up on drums, in newspapers, uniform buttons, and banners.
A man calling himself "An American Guesser", whom most historians now agree was Benjamin Franklin wrote that he observed the symbol on a drum belonging to the Marines, wondering why the symbol was chosen. He said it occurred to him that
"the Rattle-Snake is found in no other quarter of the world besides America." Franklin also observed, "She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds 'till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him against the danger of treading on her. I confess I was wholly at a loss what to make of the rattles, 'till I went back and counted them and found them just thirteen, exactly the number of the Colonies united in America; and I recollected too that this was the only part of the Snake which increased in numbers. ... 'Tis curious and amazing to observe how distinct and independent of each other the rattles of this animal are, and yet how firmly they are united together, so as never to be separated but by breaking them to pieces. One of those rattles singly, is incapable of producing sound, but the ringing of thirteen together, is sufficient to alarm the boldest man living."
The left constantly preaches that we need to "celebrate diversity", which is a total crock! What they really mean is that we need to celebrate "deviancy".
It's not just about "accepting" individuals for who they are. It's one thing to accept that a person is gay, and to treat them with the same respect and equality as any other human being. Let bygones be bygones. I do not agree with your lifestyle, but I won't infringe on your right to live it, or to pursue happiness. But, under the rules of political correctness and diversity, I need to "celebrate"it. I need to "accept" whatever behavior someone wants to engage in. I'm homophobic if I find the outlandish behavior at a gay pride parade offensive, or inappropriate in a public setting. Various degrees of nudity and simulated sexual acts in a public parade are not my view of "fun for the whole family" entertainment. Yet, in this Sodom and Gomorrah culture we are declining into,

I accept immigrants, of any nationality or color, who come into the country legally. But, I am a racist if I oppose those who enter illegally. I am racist for wanting strong borders. Yes, some who come in are looking legitimately looking for a better life. I understand that. But, if the first thing that you do in beginning your new journey is to break the law of the country you are coming to, you start out as a criminal. In addition, many of those who enter looking for a better life, are NOT the type of people we want in the country. I am not talking skin color. I am talking of drug smugglers, gang members, rapists, Islamist jihadists, and others who exploit our lax security for all manner of illegality, and pose a legitimate threat to the security of our nation. Again, I am the intolerant one!

You don't want sharia law? You're a islamophobe AND a racist! You're probably the most disgusting kind of person there is: one of those evangelical Christians, which everybody knows is the root of all evil that has ever existed in the world!
Don't believe in man-made global warming? You hate children, women, minorities, and are a heretic. Why, you don't even deserve to live!
If it seems I am overreacting to this one thing happening in a town three thousand miles across the country, I say hogwash. This is but one of a plethora of attacks on the things that tear at the fabric of what made this country the "shining light on the hill", but which the leftists in our midst hope to remove from our history, our culture, and our memories. The hypocrisy, and intolerance of these scumbags needs to be exposed for all to see.
There is a war being waged for the hearts and souls of the American people which far too many are either disengaged, or have chosen to be silent, hoping it will all just "work itself out". It will work itself out, but for those who refuse to "suit up and show up", how it "works out" may not be what you desired.

The City Council of New Rochelle, NY has ordered the Revolutionary War's Gadsden Flag to be removed from its flagpole and confiscated from a patriotic veteran's group, as reported by the Sacramento Bee on April 8, 2013.
The conservative-leaning Thomas More Law Center has been retained by New Rochelle resident and former U.S. Marine Peter Parente, who is also the president of the United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association of New Rochelle, New York (UVMPA-NR).
