While they aren’t co-opting youngsters to spy on parents for speaking out against the government (yet), the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSF) is planning to use a $990,000 State grant to teach teens to sell Obamacare on their families.

The funding comes from a broader $37 million grant blitz by Covered California, the State’s health insurance exchange, to promote President Barack Obama’s nationally unpopular healthcare overhaul.

“We have confidence that the model LA Unified brought to the table will be successful in reaching our target population, which includes family members of students,” said Sarah Soto-Taylor, spokeswoman for Covered California.

The grant money provided to LAUSD will be used to encourage families to sign up for Obamacare via phone calls to students’ homes, in-class presentations and meetings with employees eligible for Obamacare’s taxpayer-covered healthcare, the grant award says.

If the Party could thrust its hand into the past and say of this or that event, it never happened — that, surely, was more terrifying than mere torture and death?

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed -if all records told the same tale — then the lie passed into history and became truth. 'Who controls the past,' ran the Party slogan, 'controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.' And yet the past, though of its nature alterable, never had been altered. To know and not to know, to be conscious of complete truthfulness while telling carefully constructed lies, to hold simultaneously two opinions which cancelled out, knowing them to be contradictory and believing in both of them, to use logic against logic, to repudiate morality while laying claim to it, to believe that democracy was impossible and that the Party was the guardian of democracy, to forget, whatever it was necessary to forget, then to draw it back into memory again at the moment when it was needed, and then promptly to forget it again, and above all, to apply the same process to the process itself — that was the ultimate subtlety; consciously to induce unconsciousness, and then, once again, to become unconscious of the act of hypnosis you had just performed. Even to understand the word 'doublethink' involved the use of doublethink.

State Dept now inserting Obama hosannas in “Fact Sheets”?

First, hosannas to Barack Obama began appearing in the presidential biographies of his predecessors on the official White House website. Now, Heritage Foundation’s Amy Payne has discovered that the State Department has begun inserting hosannas to the boss in their new “Fact Sheets” of countries around the world. Is the Obama administration attempting to build a cult of personality, or just create the jobs necessary to clean up official government websites of his electioneering after January?

Inserting himself into the biographies of past presidents on the White House website apparently wasn’t enough for President Obama. His State Department is now editing its descriptions of foreign countries into yet another taxpayer-subsidized campaign commercial for the Obama Administration.

The State Department has recently ended its long-running series of Background Notes, which were analytical, objective histories of other countries. In their place, new “Fact Sheets” now tout Obama’s policies and actions toward each nation. No more historical context, no recounting of complex and long-standing issues in the country. Just cut to the chase—that is, the time when the current Administration came to power.

Heritage’s Jim Roberts, one of the editors of Heritage’s Index of Economic Freedom, was struck by the disproportionate change in emphasis while doing some research recently. Roberts, who worked at the State Department from 1982 to 2007 and used to write these country profiles, said he had never seen edits like these under either previous Republican or Democratic Administrations.

Obama Administration Takes Credit for Inspiring Lexus Hybrid SUV--Which Began Production in 2004

(CNSNews.com) -The Obama administration is taking credit for inspiring Lexus to create a hybrid SUV--even though the automobile company began the well-publicized production of its RX 400h SUV hybrid in 2004--four full years before Obama was elected.

A timeline of the auto company's history, posted on its website, says: "2004-The first production SUV hybrid, the RX 400h, debuts with Lexus Hybrid Drive. U.S. Lexus sales reach two million."

Obama's Orwellian "Truth Teams" Ask Citizens To Report Critics

They were systematically turned against their parents and taught to spy on them and report their deviations. The family had become in effect an extension of the Thought Police. It was a device by means of which everyone could be surrounded night and day by informers who knew him intimately.

The increasingly paranoid Obama team has once again unleashed his "thought police" machine, or as they refer to it, the "Truth Team".

Obama, who once said "Everybody knows politics is a contact sport", seems to be rather sensitive when those on the other side of the ball actually hit back. It's not really lies and smears that he fears. He actually loves it when a lie or half-truth is reported. It gives him the opportunity to ridicule it and be on the offensive. No, it's the factual criticisms that concern him. Not that he won't try to pooh-pooh those as well, but facts are stubborn things, and he knows it.

So how to minimize the attacks on his actual record? Create a climate of fear and distrust. Have citizens report on citizens for those things that they either disagree with, or which they suspect are false. For MSNBC viewers, this would be any criticism. This, they hope, will cause some to be reluctant in publishing criticisms of "The One".

Who are these patriotic citizens that Obama hopes to turn into spies for his campaign? The youth, of course. For those who haven't been noticed, Obama's campaign thus far, aside from fundraisers with multi-millionaire Hollywood Leftists and the hated Wall Street 1% crowd, has been barnstorming college campuses all across the country, trying to gin up much of the excitement from that demographic which carried him in '08.

His whole campaign has been focused on the youth: below-market loan rates for college student, free birth control for college students, health insurance paid for by parents for adult 'children' up to 26 years old, tuition tax-credits for students, increasing Pell grants.

All of these thing will, of course, cause the cost of going to college to increase even further. Government subsidizing of college has created much of the massive inflation of the cost of going to college. Since 1985, these subsidies to "help" students afford college have increased the cost by almost 498%. This is compared to overall consumer inflation of 115% during the same time frame.

This "Truth Team" ploy is just another tactic by this bunch of Chicago-style politics, Marx/Mao admiring, free-speech chilling, Orwellian neo-Marxists.

Obama Campaign ‘Truth Team’ Conflates Smears with Criticisms, Citing Disputed Study

An email from the Obama campaign encapsulates the problem when political campaigns seize the language of fact checkers, muddying the waters.

In the note, sent later in the day today, Obama campaign deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter invites supporters to “report an attack” at the Truth Team report page.

“Received a robo-call or an email forward full of falsehoods?” the page asks. “Found a misleading leaflet in your mail? Tell us about it, and help fight back against the attacks on President Obama and his record.”
