This would be a slap in the face to most veterans. Barack Obama is said to be considering John 'effing" Kerry for Defense Secretary.
Yeah. That John Kerry.
The John Kerry who once said to Congress that his Brothers-In-Arms "had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country".
Aside from his congressional testimony, he is also known for leading a protest of anti-war vets in throwing their medals over the White House wall. I have no problem with that. As veterans, they earned the right to do that. But Kerry took it farther than that. His actions of undermining the war by denigrating his fellow veterans to satisfy his own agenda/ideology, was beyond the pale. To align and appear with "Hanoi" Jane Fonda, who was active in giving aid and comfort to the North Vietnamese while her fellow countrymen were sacrificing their lives, and should have been charged and convicted of treason, is unforgivable.
And let's not forget what Kerry said about our soldiers fighting in Iraq: "And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night,
terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the--of--the historical customs, religious customs".
Never let an opportunity pass to denigrate our men and women in the Armed Services, I guess, is his motto.
Hey! Maybe he could tap Hanoi Jane as the Asst. SecDef, and they can sit around with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, smoke dope and sing Kumbaya, while drawing up appeasement plans. Maybe design new military uniforms that don't look so threatening. Color coordinated, of course!

President Obama is considering asking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) to serve as his next defense secretary, part of an extensive rearrangement of his national security team that will include a permanent replacement for former CIA director David H. Petraeus.
Although Kerry is thought to covet the job of secretary of state, senior administration officials familiar with the transition planning said that nomination will almost certainly go to Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.
