Obama's Orwellian "Truth Teams" Ask Citizens To Report Critics

The increasingly paranoid Obama team has once again unleashed his "thought police" machine,  or as they refer to it, the "Truth Team".

Obama, who once said "Everybody knows politics is a contact sport", seems to be rather sensitive when those on the other side of the ball actually hit back.  It's not really lies and smears that he fears.  He actually loves it when a lie or half-truth is reported. It gives him the opportunity to ridicule it and be on the offensive.  No, it's the factual criticisms that concern him.  Not that he won't try to pooh-pooh those as well, but facts are stubborn things, and he knows it.

So how to minimize the attacks on his actual record? Create a climate of fear and distrust.  Have citizens report on citizens for those things that they either disagree with, or which they suspect are false.  For MSNBC viewers, this would be any criticism.  This, they hope, will cause some to be reluctant in publishing criticisms of "The One".

Who are these patriotic citizens that Obama hopes to turn into spies for his campaign?  The youth, of course.  For those who haven't been noticed, Obama's campaign thus far, aside from fundraisers with multi-millionaire Hollywood Leftists and the hated Wall Street 1% crowd, has been barnstorming college campuses all across the country, trying to gin up much of the excitement from that demographic which carried him in '08.

His whole campaign has been focused on the youth: below-market loan rates for college student, free birth control for college students, health insurance paid for by parents for adult 'children' up to 26 years old, tuition tax-credits for students, increasing Pell grants.

All of these thing will, of course, cause the cost of going to college to increase even further.  Government subsidizing of college has created much of the massive inflation of the cost of going to college.  Since 1985, these subsidies to "help" students afford college have increased the cost by almost  498%.  This is compared to overall consumer inflation of 115% during the same time frame.

This "Truth Team" ploy is just another tactic by this bunch of Chicago-style politics, Marx/Mao admiring, free-speech chilling, Orwellian neo-Marxists.

Obama Campaign ‘Truth Team’ Conflates Smears with Criticisms, Citing Disputed Study

An email from the Obama campaign encapsulates the problem when political campaigns seize the language of fact checkers, muddying the waters.

In the note, sent later in the day today, Obama campaign deputy campaign manager Stephanie Cutter invites supporters to “report an attack” at the Truth Team report page.

“Received a robo-call or an email forward full of falsehoods?” the page asks. “Found a misleading leaflet in your mail? Tell us about it, and help fight back against the attacks on President Obama and his record.”
