The word 'forward' has a long history of usage in communist publications, as well as slogans. Socialists and communists in Germany, Russia, Italy, the Netherlands, and here in the United States have used "Forward" in the naming of their publications, touting the Marxist belief that their ideology is the inevitable victor as part of the progress of history.
That the Washington Times writer states that the Obama campaign failed to look back in history to discover the Marxist roots of this slogan is laughable. He either has his head firmly planted in the sand, or is spinning this to say that the Obama slogan is simply an unfortunate coincidence.
Obama has been crystal clear in telegraphing his belief system and ideology. It is Marxism! He uses the language of the Marxist/socialist constantly!
"Collective" salvation. The "common" good, "Spreading the wealth around". Promoting class envy, pitting the "poor" against the "rich". He speaks of Americans in terms of belonging to different "classes. The top 1% (Bourgeois) against the workers (Proletariat). The 'haves' and 'have-nots'. He speaks out against free markets and profit motive, while promoting job and business killing regulations. (“So, if somebody wants to build a coal plant, they can — it’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they are going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”)
All while he's living the lavish lifestyle that he condemns. He and his wife take numerous vacations, staying in resorts and hotels only frequented by the rich and famous. Meanwhile average Americans contemplate "stay-cations", a new term in the Obamamerica, for those forced to stay in town for their vacations due to the economy. The Obama's have hosted numerous Friday night concerts and Broadway productions at the White House, featuring top name entertainment. Scores of golf outings. Michelle going on lavish shopping sprees to Spain with friends, costing the taxpayers nearly $500K. It's all reminiscent of Soviet leaders relaxing at lavish resorts while their people stood in lines for essential goods such as bread and shoes.
That he is being so bold about his "coming out" says that he believes he has duped enough Americans into believing that Marxism is the future. I hope that he has been duped by his own self-importance, and that the American voters will deliver a crushing, and demoralizing, defeat to Obama and the socialist left in the country.
New Obama slogan has long ties to Marxism, socialism
By Victor Morton April 30, 2012, 06:56PMThe Obama campaign apparently didn't look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, "Forward" — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.
Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name "Forward!" or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called "Forward (generic name of socialist publications)."
"The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications," the online encyclopedia explains.
