I certainly hope that some of you are getting as sick and tired of the liberal screed that America is this racist, bigoted homophobic country, and is the cause of all of our and the rest of the worlds' problems. That certainly is the message that MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry is projecting in this speech to the crowd at the leftist "Take Back the American Dream" conference this past week in Washington D.C.
Let's be clear. The giant racist elephant in the room is not the GOP or the Tea Party. Or President Bush. Melissa Harris-Perry is the racist. So is Al Sharpton, and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, and Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, and most of the Democrat Party and left-wing media.
Democrats are OBSESSED with race. Just as they are obsessed with sexual orientation, and gender. These issues define todays' Democrat Party. They are not interested in these things as they relate to equality, as they claim. No, they are interested in them only in the sense of how they can use them as political wedge issues. They don't want real solutions. They want division and acrimony between Americans. Because for them, it's not about equality. It never has been. It's about power.
Though there are numerous examples in Harris-Perry's speech, but a key to how she sees America is this:
"For about a year after September 11th, there were African-American men walking around the city of New York with NYPD hats on. That can only be explained by a PTSD response."
First of all, this should be an insult to everybody - black, white, asian, gay, straight. Really? Why is that? Because, it doesn't fit the stereotype of what a black person does, which of course is the duty, born into the soul of every black man, to hate the cops. It's in their DNA! And yet, she is lauded as some brilliant person for saying things like this. Let Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, or some other conservative say this, and there will be mass demonstrations, feigned outrage from Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, and calls for boycots from Ben Jealous and the NAACP.
It must have been terrifying for the leftists after 9/11 to see so many American's come together as a country - black, white, brown, yellow, straight, gay - under one banner of red, white and blue. People where not hyphenated Americans. They were just American. Give the libs credit though. They went on the attack, within the week following 9/11. First were criticisms of Bush, and the media narrative of "Why Do They Hate Us?" Then came the rumors and conspiracy theories that is was an inside job, it was the Jews, etc... Divide the country. It worked so well that the Democrats have only become more bold and more brazen in their attacks, their ferocity, and in the ridiculousness of some of the attacks.
But, the curtain has been pulled back and many Americans aren't buying it anymore. They know they're not racist. Or homophobes. Or sexist. Or (name a perjorative). The real secret is that as conservatives, we don't care what your skin color is. We don't care who you sleep with and don't want to know. We don't care whether you wear pants or a skirt. As a businessman, I want to know if you are hard working, can you do the job you are hired for, can you work well with others, are you honest, and can you help my company make money. Race, orientation, gender, or religion don't even factor in. And that is true for way more than 99% of the conservatives that I meet.
But I digress.
Ms. Harris-Perry goes on to hit on some common liberal themes such as white racism, and of course, the obligatory war on women (18:45 mark). The War on Women which she says she first started to see when Sonja Sotamayor was nominated to the Supreme Court. Yeah, she must have been out of the country for all of that Sarah Palin business, with the "putting lipstick on a pig", being called a "c*nt", "stupid", and other vile and violent things. Sarah was even credited for a line that Tina Fey said about "seeing Russia from my house" on SNL, and which has been parroted by all of the media pundits for four years, and is now "common knowledge". Yeah, she must have been out of country, or under a rock somewhere to have missed that.
This is nothing new really, but it is interesting to see so many liberals coming out into the open and really exposing themselves for what they really, truly think and believe, and to have other good, decent Americans finally understand that it's the leftists that are the racists and bigots.

- 9/11 vaulted America into a “nationalist fervor” that was similar to “having post-traumatic stress disorder”
- Makes racial joke about African-American men wearing NYPD hats 9/11 provided an opportunity for a new “racial enemy” in America
- America “identifies who we are…through our notions of whiteness and of the racial enemies that are the non-whites”
- 9/11 gave America a chance to shift its racial hate from “Reagan‘s ’welfare Queen’“ to ”imagine” our enemy as ”somehow Muslim, or Arab, or Sikh, or something else.”
- Americans an ability to “stomach a kind of horrific racial violence in the name of national security”
- Those that are “activating terrorism against us” are “imagined racial enemies”
