Connecticut Communists Are Fired Up and Ready to Goby Brian Johnson
A high school in New Haven Connecticut held "The Voices for Jobs, Equality & Peace - People's World Amistad Awards Concert", an event organized by the Connecticut Communist Party USA, along with student members of the Young Communist League.
Attendees,, saying they were "fired up and ready to go" (gee, where have I heard that before?), were treated to labor songs and poetry.
For those who have doubted that the Unions arein bed with the communists, here is yet one more example of their complicity. People's World Amistad Awards were given to John Olsen, president of Connecticut's AFL CIO, Carmen Boudier, president of New England 1199, and Juan Figueroa, president of Universal Health Care Foundation.
The kumbaya event began with the student members of the Young Communist League explaining, in a very Miss USA Pageant sort of statement, that they got involved so they can "make the world more fair and equal". They left out "...and world peace".
Joelle Fishman, chair of the Connecticut Communist Party USA, in a completely predictable rant, then bashed the Republicans for holding 2 million unemployed people hostage to give tax breaks to the wealthy, and to remind everyone that capitalism sucks. This caused all the bearded Marxists to cheer wildly.
Carmen Boudier, of SEIU branch New England 1199, received her award "on behalf of the workers and the struggles that we face." It was reported that she was given a standing ovation by nursing home workers who had been striking and picketing for eight months, sucking up union dues instead of actually working for paychecks.
Juan Figueroa then spoke of how his father taught him about social justice when he was a kid in Cialis, Puerto Rico. They later moved to Connecticut, escaping the progressive hell-hole they helped create in Puero Ric to begin creating another hell hole here in the states. Si Se Puede!
Finally John Olson of the AFL-CIO (M-O-U-S-E), proclaimed "Anyone who stands with me for workers' rights, I stand with them." He then acknowledged the Communist Party and spoke out against fear mongering and baiting, unless you're speaking of conservatives, rich people, Republicans, self-sufficiency...
Jim Hoff of Gateway Pundit wrote, "Not that long ago Americans openly rejected socialism and communism.
Now the communists are holding awards ceremonies and concerts in public high schools and openly honoring state labor leaders."
