Washington, DC Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton speaking by phone to Bill Press on his radio program that, said that if she could, she would vote to do a "slight bombing" of Syria in order to show loyalty to Barack Obama, and to prevent him from being "shamed and humiliated on the national stage".
Her statements are so wrong, on so many levels, that it takes your breath away.
Starting with her comment of the US conducting a "slight bombing" to "somehow punish or deter somebody". This is the comment of an unintelligent, unthinking person. Ask the people who are being attacked how "slight" the bombs being dropped around them feel, or if the family of the person killed by the slight bombing are comforted by the fact that the bombing was only "slight", or "unbelievably small".
Another thing Congresswoman Holmes Norton: Does the United States go to war or attack other countries to show loyalty to a President, this one or any other one, or to save him from being humiliated or shamed? The answer to that would be "NO".
Another sad thing is that Bill Press doesn't even try to challenge her on any of this. It's pathetic!
If a person wants to understand what is going wrong with this country, this is it in a nut shell! We have people in Congress who have either zero knowledge of the Constitution, or worse, don't even care about it, combined with a national press that is so invested and complicit in seeing to it that our first black president is successful, that they cover for him regardless of what it is he does. Apparently this includes taking us to war, if it saves face for the President.

There is some radio host out there named Thom Hartmann who is promoting something called "The No Billionaires Campaign".
His diatribe is full of typical Marxist clap-trap. His grand "plan" would confiscate 100% of any wealth over $999,999,999. As he says, there are just over 400 billionaires in the U.S. today. Taking his "plan" a step farther, if we confiscated 100% of ALL of their wealth, which averages $4 Billion each, it would run the government for about 3 months at current spending levels. And, you could only do it once! The problem isn't that these people have too much wealth, it's that the government spends money like Ted Kennedy at a stripper bar, genius.
Another point made by this economic illiterate, is that billionaires are "sucking up more of the wealth that used to belong to the working class". This statement comes from a point of view that wealth is static. That is, that there is a finite amount of wealth, and that if you get too much, then someone else is getting screwed. This is taken from the leftist illustration that wealth is like a pie, and there are only so many pieces to go around. But wealth is fluid. Wealth is created. There is much more wealth today than there was 100 years, or even 50 years ago.

He then drones on about the income inequality of today compared to right after World War 2. He states that billionaires were few and far between because wealth was more evenly distributed. This is crap. The boom in wealth related to new technologies, and the computer and space age is responsible for greatest advances in history, and resulted in the greatest amount of wealth creation in the world. Yes, some people have become famously wealthy. But it is not because they took it out of the mouth of some other poor sap. It is because they were responsible for creating goods or services that BILLIONS of people have benefitted from. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are responsible for not only making people's lives better, and business more efficient, their companies provide jobs to thousands of people all over the world, and have made others rich as well. Sam Walton and Wal-Mart, who this dimwit does the obligatory leftist slam on, has provided a service that makes clothing, electronics, and thousands of other products affordable to millions of people that otherwise would not be able to buy some of these things.
It never occurs ot this leftist that the plight of people in the lower income tiers are poor, not because of these rich people, but because of leftist government entitlement programs which give them a few alms in return for a lifetime of dependency and voting Democrat, all the while keeping them in a life of poverty. Nor does he address the fact that government, through excessive regulation, codes, taxes, and miles of paperwork, make it extremely difficult for people to start new businesses or create new products. Many people don't feel it is worth the red tape, or the armies of OSHA, IRS, Board of Equalization, or EPA goons and inspectors who will make your life a living hell, and who feel the need to change laws and codes, which you have to comply with or be fined, on an annual or bi-annual basis.
After watching this, you will fully understand why you may have never heard of this radio host. In fact, even my rather minuscule readership will probably double the number of people who know of this guy.
Media Matters, self-proclaimed defenders of journalistic fairness, have begun a full-frontal assault on free speech. Using Rush Limbaugh as their focal point, they have begun radio ads in eight markets in an attempt to pressure local stations to drop Limbaugh from the airwaves.
By now, most have heard of Limbaugh's over the top remarks about Sandra Fluke, and the ensuing firestorm and feigned outrage from many on the left as well as some on the right. Regrettable as Rush's words were (he has since publicly apologized), the incident also exposed the abject hypocrisy of those on the left who are virtually silent when liberal hosts and entertainers make remarks that are just as, if not much more outrageous and vile than what Limbaugh uttered.
Political commentators such as Ed Schultz and Keith Olbermann have made comments that are much more beyond the pale than anything Limbaugh has said. Then, there are the so-called leftists like Bill Maher, who get free passes because he is doing "comedy", when he calls Sarah Palin a "c**t" or Michelle Bachmann a "bimbo".
In these and many other instances, Media Matters remain silent. Keep in mind that Media Matters is a tax-exempt charitable organization. Yet their attacks are saved exclusively for conservative talk show hosts, the GOP and Fox News. Their blatant bias is so in-your-face that their tax-exempt status is now being challenged. We are also finding out that Media Matters has had a plan since 2009 to attempt to get Rush Limbaugh off the airwaves.
Rush Limbaugh lit the fuse that started this firestorm, but Media Matters has been standing by with the cans of gasoline for over three years to turn a small brushfire into a manufactured media inferno.
This is not just an attack on Limbaugh. This is an attack on all who value free-speech. Radio hosts, bloggers, and ordinary citizens. You may agree or disagree with Rush Limbaugh, Ed Schultz, or Keith Olbermann, but their right to voice their opinions should not be squelched by David Brock and Media Matters' Stalinist crusades.
Media Matters Launches New Ad Campaign Slamming Rush Limbaugh
Despite the media firestorm surrounding Rush Limbaugh having died down, the conservative radio host isn't off the hook just yet.
According to the Washington Times, the liberal watchdog group Media Matters has launched a $100,000 ad campaign criticizing the host for calling Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke a "slut" and "prostitute" after she testified before the House on contraception.
The ads are currently being broadcast in eight cities, with some urging listeners to tell their local radio stations to take Limbaugh's show off the air and including the telephone numbers of stations broadcasting Limbaugh's show.

President Obama has passed the buck to others – mainly George W. Bush – for no less than 13 problems that characterize his presidency, suggesting time and again that his own policies are not to blame for his difficulties and he is simply doing the best that can be done with the cards he was dealt.
Even so, Obama is aggressively staking a claim for successes for which Bush shares significant or nearly all responsibility, including increased drilling for oil and natural gas, the end of the Iraq War, and the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

Liberal/Socialist Memphis talk radio host Thaddeus Matthews illustrates in this video (NOT posted by a Tea Party supporter) the steep mountain that blacks have to scale in this country to hold an ideological belief outside of the "mainstream" consciousness in the liberal black community. As we all know, blacks in this country are supposed to be monolithic in their thinking. The Jesse Jackson's, Al Sharpton's, and this intellectual bag of hammers remind us of this "fact" all the time.
Matthews uses well-worn cliches in this curse-filled racist rant, in an attempt to intimidate his guest, GOP candidate for Congress Charlotte Bergmann, calling her a "token negro that white folk have control over", calling her a "sellout", and 'aksing' her repeatedly "what she is going to do for the black community".
This is illustrative of the attitude of too many in the liberal power structure and in the African-American community. He had virtually no interest in hearing her answers, talking over everything she said while telling her not to talk over him. His ignorance is without end, as is his mindless allegiance to a Democrat power structure, with the assistance of race-pimps such as Jackson and Sharpton, that has thrown scraps to those in the black community in the form of welfare, food stamps, and substandard government assisted housing (slums), while putting up economic and social roadblocks to their success.
Matthews, and others like him, are the ones who are still on the plantation, too willfully ignorant to know it, and help to keep those in their community just as uninformed and in economic bondage. Conway: "I just want to make sure we're starting with some honesty".
Last night’s “Hardball” kicked off with a curious back and forth between host Chris Matthews andIowa talk radio host Simon Conway.
In the opening segment, Conway and Matthews were simulcasting on each other’s shows, in a segment that was intended to focus on the upcoming debate in Sioux City, Iowa. Conway is uniquely qualified to speak on the GOP candidates as he has interviewed almost all of them in the run-up to next month’s primary.
