Anti-Gun Senator: This Homemade Weapon Can Shred an Airplane in Half!

What happens when you mix an illogical fear of guns with profound ignorance?

You get Kevin de Leon, a California State Senator and rabid anti-gun nut from Los Angeles, going on television and demonstrating that he is now illiterate in three languages.

Democrat de Leon has introduced a bill, SB808, addresses homemade weapons, which he calls "ghost guns".  His bill would require the makers of all homemade guns, including those produced by 3D printers,  to apply to the state DOJ for a serial number to be applied to the gun, and that a piece of metal be made a permanent part of the gun, so that the weapon could be seen by metal detectors.
Magazine vs. Clip

For starters, his bill makes no sense, and is just another feel-good piece of paper that he can take back to his constituents and say, "Look what I did!" Yes, the gun he is holding is homemade, but it is also fully automatic (by his own admission), which already makes it illegal. Does he really believe that the person, or the people who make this and other "ghost" guns are going to voluntarily contact the DOJ to have a serial number issued?  WHY do so many people think that our elected officials are so smart? They're not!  The people who are making or buying these weapons are either acquiring them as "throwaways", or people who are concerned with a coming tyrannical government may start to produce them.  Neither one is are going to apply for a serial number.

Kevin de Leon then goes on to prove to the whole world that he has never handled or been around a weapon his whole life, as he makes a glaring number of farcical statements about the weapon in his hands, including that it has a firing rate nearly that of a military phalanx system, which can shred an airplane or missile in half.

Phalanx Systems in Action

He picks up one weapon and swings it around with his finger inside the trigger guard and on the trigger.  Safety first, Kevin! He then picks up another weapon, which he calls "an automatic sniper weapon".  This is getting hysterical.  A sniper, by the very nature of his job, would never use an automatic rifle.  They are single shot bolt actions or semi-auto.

Mixing up clips, magazines, and caliber and capacity, his entire demonstration was, as they say, "a hot mess". He comes off as someone who was thrust into doing a demonstration at the last minute, yet he is the one who is the author of the bill!  The supposed expert! In reality, he is just another typical liberal, reacting emotionally to something of which he has zero knowledge, thus unable to make a coherent intellectual case.  Because there is no case to make.  His SB808 bill is intellectually vapid.  A "feel good" measure. It will have ZERO effect on the sale or manufacture of these weapons because they are already a black market item.

Meanwhile, these same idiots are doing their best to make it as difficult as possible for law-abiding people to get legal guns and ammunition to protect themselves and their families from criminals who are able to get their weapons and ammo easily.

Thanks, Mr. Wizard!

Fed-Up Veteran Educates Pious and Snide "Educators" at Democrat Anti-Gun "Forum"

Posted by Brian

New Trier, Ill - Northeastern Cook County, Chicago suburb
Tired of hearing lies, half-truths, and being referred to as Nazi's and Chihuahua's, a man identifying himself as a veteran stood up and educated a group of snide, elitest Chicago Democrats drawing cheers and shout of approval from the crowd who had shown up to forum billing itself as a "space for real conversation", only to be told to "shush" time and again.
Don't take my word for it. Watch the video. Pay attention especially to the guy at the 15 second mark, who addresses the room in a tone of voice normally reserved for a 2-year-old. This is the voice of the elitest who views himself as intellectually superior to those around him, and is disgusted to even be in the same room to people he views as lower than primordial sludge, and thus addresses them with a voice that drips with contempt.
This was not a forum to have a "real conversation", as advertised. This was a lecture, put on by leftists, to allow them to tell everyone HOW things should be, and how they are going to be. Unfortunately for them, a US military veteran, along with a whole bunch of pro-Second Amendment, pro-Constitution people showed up and told them how things are.
Remember. There are a whole lot more people like this veteran, who love our Country and our Constitution, than the media and the leftists want you to believe.

CA Bill Would Effectively Outlaw Pistol Ammunition

Posted by Brian

The endgame goal?
Wacko environmentalists are pushing for a ban on lead ammunition, the consequence of which would leave to pistol owners unable to purchase ammunition for their weapons.  As steel core ammunition is defined in the penal code as "armor piercing", the outlawing of lead effectively outlaws all ammunition used by pistols.
Furthermore, the use of steel core ammunition in California is severely limited due to fire hazards created when the bullets strike a rock.  Many outdoor ranges limit when steel core can be used , especially during California's notorious "fire season".  In addition, shooting steel core on federal forestry land is prohibited entirely, and as many ranges are on land leased from the federal government, they don't allow the firing of this type of ammunition at any time so as not to have their lease pulled.

California Penal Code Section 12320 states:
Any person, firm, or corporation who, within this state knowingly possesses any handgun ammunition designed primarily to penetrate metal or armor is guilty of a public offense and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by imprisonment in the state prison, or in the county jail for a term not to exceed one year, or by a fine not to exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000), or by both such fine and imprisonment.

Cal. Penal Code section 12323 Defines "Armor Piercing" as follows:
ABSTRACT: 'Handgun ammunition' means ammunition principally for use in pistols and revolvers as they are defined in Section 12001 of the Penal Code. Handgun ammunition designed primarily to penetrate metal or amor is defined in the same manner as it is defined in federal law.  Penal Code Title 2: Control of Deadly Weapons Chapter 2.6: Ammunition  Definitions  Section 12323  As used in this chapter, the following definitions shall apply: (a) 'Handgun ammunition' means ammunition principally for use in pistols, revolvers, and other firearms capable of being concealed upon the person, as defined in subdivision (a) of Section 12001, notwithstanding that the ammunition may also be used in some rifles. (b) 'Handgun ammunition designed primarily to penetrate metal or armor' means any ammunition, except a shotgun shell or ammunition primarily designed for use in rifles, that is designed primarily to penetrate a body vest or body shield, and has either of the following characteristics: (1) Has projectile or projectile core constructed entirely, excluding the presence of traces of other substances, from one or a combination of tungsten alloys, steel, iron, brass, beryllium copper, or depleted uranium, or any equivalent material of similar density or hardness. (2) Is primarily manufactured or designed, by virtue of its shape, cross-sectional density, or any coating applied thereto, including, but not limited to, ammunition commonly known as 'KTW ammunition,' to breach or penetrate a body vest or body shield when fired from a pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person. (c) 'Body vest or shield' means any bullet-resistant material intended to provide ballistic and trauma protection for the wearer or holder. (d) 'Rifle' shall have the same meaning as defined in paragraph (20) of subdivision (c) of Section 12020.

This bill to ban lead ammunition is another end-run by the leftists on the People's Second Amendment Right to keep and bear arms.  Their claim that it is to "protect wildlife", smacks of the same flawed logic, based on flawed studies (link), that has caused the electronic industry to switch from lead-based solder to silver solder in the manufacture of electronic components, which increase costs while decreasing reliability.  In addition, the metals now used in electronic solder applications come with a host of problems, from phenomenom called "tin-whiskers", "tombstoned components, and cracked solder joints. In addition, the tin and silver-based solders are worse for the environment than the highly reliable lead solder, which has been used for decades.

"RoHS" directives mandated by the EU were based on a scientific study by Professor Timothy Townshend, which showed lead from electronic components was leaching into landfills.  The European Union hastily put together a worldwide mandate to eliminate lead from commercial electronic components.  They went forward with this directive, despite subsequent studies, including those by Professor Townshend himself, which all contradicted the results of the initial study, and showed no discernible leaching of lead into the landfills by electronic components.  But by this time, the EU and other countries has realized the huge financial windfall to be gained through the enactment of the ROHS mandates.  In the end, politics and money overrode sound science.

Sound familiar?

Bill would ban Lead Ammunition in California
By TRACIE CONE - Associated Press Monday, Mar. 11, 2013 | 05:35 PM

Environmentalists are pushing legislation to ban lead ammunition in California to prevent toxins from poisoning scavengers that eat animal remains left by hunters.

Final language of the bill was introduced Monday by Assembly Member Anthony Rendon, D-Lakewood, who said the legislation would remove a lingering source of pollution from the environment. It was sponsored by three major environmental groups — Defenders of Wildlife, Audubon California, and the Humane Society of the United States.

"There really is no question that lead ammo is a threat," said Kim Delfino of Defenders of Wildlife. "To pass a bill in California would set the stage for this happening throughout the country, the way low-emissions vehicle standards changed the market nationwide."

Latest Calif. Gun Grab: Price Out Of Reach with Insurance Mandates

Posted by Brian

The leftists in California are at it again.  Seeing their prospects of Dianne Feinstein's gun ban legislation dim, the land of fruits and nuts is trying an end run on the 2nd Amendment.  Make private ownership of weapons too expensive.  While others, in their homage to despots and dictators, look to make ammunition prohibitively expensive,  or to outlaw lead AND steel core bullets, another leftist nut job is approaching suspension of the Second Amendment from an entirely different angle.

Philip Ting
Assemblyman Phillip Ting, Democrat from San Francisco (where else would he be from?), has introduced Assembly Bill 223 (AB223), which would force gun owners to purchase liability insurance for their right to own a weapon.  "But, but, car owners have to by liability insurance!", the typical liberal lemming will say.  Yes, but you don't have a God-given RIGHT to drive a car. Every American has a Constitutional right to own a weapon. Not just the rich or well-connected (i.e. the ruling class).

For those thinking that Ting is just a concerned politician and father, aside from his leftist ideology, he may be motivated by something a little more lucrative.  Ting has had a rather cozy relationship with the insurance industry, receiving over $20,000 from Big Insurance in his last run for office. I'm sure that insurance companies will be more than happy to help fund this legislation, as well as reward those who legislators who would spearhead and legislative windfall to the industry.

Keep an eye on this one!

Insurance Move Aimed at Pricing Guns Out of Existence

California, as usual, is leading the Left in wackiness as liberals see their chances for eliminating guns fading after the Newtown slaughter. When the latest nut job massacred a score of youngsters, the Left saw an opportunity to reach their long-held goal of eliminating guns, using a road paved with the bodies of children to achieve their dictatorial goals.

Ed "Sgt." Schultz Goes All Hitler - 'Confiscate Guns'

Posted by Brian

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Founding Fathers,  U.S. Constitution, 2nd Amendment

"a Glock pistol qualifies as an assault weapon."
"Write all the feel good laws you want, it's the confiscation of these types of weapons that counts and will have an impact."

How very Hitler/Stalin-esque of you Ed! Moron!

MSNBC’s Ed Schultz Talks Gun ‘Confiscation’
By Dan Gainor | December 16, 2012 | 07:23

Liberals always say they don’t want to take away guns. But give them an awful tragedy like the Newtown, Conn. shooting and they get bolder and more honest. MSNBC host Ed Schultz showed a rare bout of such honesty during a brief Twitter exchange Saturday. Schultz asked “Why should anyone own an assault rifle ?” and followed it up by saying “it's the confiscation of these types of weapons that counts and will have an impact.”

Anti- 2nd Amendment Eric Holder - "Brainwash" Public On Guns

Posted by Brian

THE VETTING - HOLDER 1995: WE MUST 'BRAINWASH' PEOPLE ON GUNS

Breitbart.com has uncovered video from 1995 of then-U.S. Attorney Eric Holder announcing a public campaign to "really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way."

Holder was addressing the Woman's National Democratic Club. In his remarks, broadcast by CSPAN 2, he explained that he intended to use anti-smoking campaigns as his model to "change the hearts and minds of people in Washington, DC" about guns.

"What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that's not cool, that it's not acceptable, it's not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes."
