Sheila Jackson Lee Calls for A Permanent Underclass In The U.S.

Sheila Jackson Lee, the imbecilic Democrat Representative from Houston, who has at times been criticized for her heavy-handed treatment of her staff, been called out for her blatant and illegal campaigning at voting precincts on election days, and for proving time and again her intellectual vacuity, finds herself once again being singled out for a Golden Peabrain Award.

Speaking from the floor of the House of Representatives, Jackson Lee wants to do away with the word "Welfare", believing that it holds too negative a connotation, and makes those who receive it feel bad. Instead, she says, we should now call government handouts "transitional living funds".

Jackson Lee said: “Maybe the word welfare should be changed to something of, ‘a transitional living fund.’ For that is what it is - for people to be able to live.”

I would point out to Jackson Lee that "transitional" implies movement from one state of being to another, which is not her intent.  Her intent is that of every statist: to keep her subjects in a state of perpetual dependency on the state - to remain a permanent underclass.

Lyndon Johnson remarked in 1957:

“These Negroes, they’re getting pretty uppity these days and that’s a problem for us since they’ve got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we’ve got to do something about this, we’ve got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don’t move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there’ll be no way of stopping them, we’ll lose the filibuster and there’ll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It’ll be Reconstruction all over again.”

Like LBJ, Sheila Jackson advocates for throwing scraps to those she sees as her subjects.  She has literally become the "House Negro" whom she claims to despise.  She has sold her allegiance to the "Masters" of the Democrat leadership. No longer a representative for those who elected her, she has aligned herself with the Democrat Party of Lyndon Baines Johnson, who was quoted in Ronald Kessler's book, "Inside The White House", as saying about the upcoming passage of the 1964 Civil Rights legislation: “I’ll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.”
