This is perhaps the worst injury that I have witnessed on national TV since Joe Theisman's broken leg injury against the New York Giants on Monday Night Football in 1985 (Video). In fact, the visual is worse, in my opinion.
With Louisville leading 21-20 with 6:33 left in the first half, Kevin Ware leapt up to defend a 3-point attempt. Landing awkwardly, replays show his leg appearing to bend in several directions below the knee. Some said it looked like his leg exploded, as his right tibia suffered a complete break.
Louisville and Duke players and coaches all looked to be in shock. with several Louisville players in tears.
Louisville took strength from Ware, As Rick Pitino reminded his players throughout the game that Ware told him 12 times to "just win the game".
Louisville went on a 13-2 run in the second half to defeat the Blue Devils 85-63.
Ware has undergone a two-hour surgery to re-set the bone, close the wound from the injury, and have a rod inserted into his right tibia. The school said "a timetable has not been set for his return to basketball".

Finally! Obama Submits NCAA Picks! Still No Budget.
Posted by Brian
Obama focused like a laser...on March Madness.
At least we know where President Barack Obama's priorities lie. ESPN even has a name for it: Barack-etology. The annual dog and pony show (Video) where Obama tells us his bracket picks for March Madness.
For the fifth year in a row, Obama comes out with his annual NCAA tournament picks, predicting that Indiana will win it all. In past years he has correctly picked N. Carolina to win (2009), got shut out in 2010 and 2011 Final Four picks, and had two Final Four teams correct in 2012 (Kentucky and Ohio State).
During that same five year stretch, Obama has either failed to submit a budget, or of the budgets he has submitted, has not managed to garner a single vote for passage. His 2012 budget was struck down 99-0 in the Senate, and 414-0 in the House. His 2011 budget was struck down 97-0.
But hey, he's focused like a laser on the economy!
Maybe one of his $90+K/yr calligraphers can make a budget template resembling the NCAA tournament brackets so he can fill out and submit one budget capable of getting at least one vote!

Obama Injects Politics As He Picks NCAA Brackets
Posted by Brian
Nothing that this President does is without political calculation. First off, I'd like to commend the POTUS on his ability to study so thoroughly the March Madness basketball brackets. While the economy continues to be anemic, the American people struggle to make mortgages, or to be able to afford gas for their vehicles, and put food on the table, Obama has learned how to multi-task and fit March Madness into his schedule. Bravo Mr. President!
Equally impressive is that, like past presidents, he has added another annual tradition for the occupant of the Oval Office. Truman began the Thanksgiving tradition of pardoning a turkey. Rutherford B. Hayes began the Easter Egg Roll in 1878. Obama has added annual Hawaii vacations and March Madness picks to the traditions calendar.
His choice of UNC to win it all is, in my opinion, a not-very-well concealed attempt to pander to North Carolinians, who not coincidentally, will be hosting the Democrat Convention this year. He doesn't want the image of pissed off N. Carolinians aired during this Democrat's signature event. His approval ratings in the Tar Heel state remain low, with 51% disapproving of his handling of the economy. Snubbing the state in his picks wouldn't have looked good, and UNC is a natural pick. He can get away with not picking Duke after Coach K. said that "the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets" back in 2009.
This man-child doesn't roll out of bed without checking poll numbers. You can bet his NCAA picks were just as politicized as every other move he makes.
Obama picks North Carolina to win NCAA championship
President Barack Obama is relying on North Carolina to take home the trophy for the best team in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
After two consecutive years of choosing the wrong team, Obama correctly chose the Tar Heels back in 2009 when the team went on to win the championship game against Michigan State, winning 89-72.
