COWARDS!! GOP Leadership is BUSTED! Using "Tricks" To Fund ObamaCare while Claiming They Oppose It

Posted by Brian

THROW THE BUMS OUT!!
Boehner, McCarthy, Cantor - The Unholy Trinity of the House GOP

If what John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy, Pete Sessions, and the rest of these slimy scumbags who make up the so-called leadership of the current GOP are currently proposing to ensure ObamaCare is fully funded doesn't piss you off, then you may be part of the problem.
What's worse is that these jerks don't even have the integrity to tell the people they supposedly represent that they actually support ObamaCare.  Instead they are LIARS, using procedural "tricks" to deceive their constituents, claiming one thing while virtually ensuring an outcome exactly opposite of what they say they support, trying to buy political cover from conservatives and the Tea Party.
Red State reported that after Ted Cruz threw the BS flag on this deception, Pete Sessions had a meltdown during a meeting exclaiming his total contempt for Cruz and conservatives.
Pete Sessions (R-TX)
Breitbart News reports a source claiming Eric Cantor is “shopping an idea of passing defund through the House with the CR (continuing resolution), but with a mechanism that would allow it to be decoupled in the Senate, defeated, and then the base CR be passed without coming back to the House.”  Voila! ObamaCare gets funded, and the Republicans have "clean hands"! That is, until word got out what these despicable pieces of crap are dreaming up in the back rooms of the Capital with the ultimate intent being to deceive the People.
My position on this is, regardless of whether they now go through with this after having been found out, that they all be kicked the hell out of Congress in the next election.  If we do not begin to primary these career politicians who will lie to us with straight faces, we will continue to get this same crap, year in and year out.

Weak House GOP: Balanced Budget Amendment, No Cap On Spending

Posted by Brian
Are the leaders of the House GOP politically suicidal? John Boehner, Eric Cantor and the rest of the buffoons seem bent on handing the 2012 elections to the Democrats.  Not that GOP and so-called independent voters will vote Democrat, but that many of those voters will be so disgusted or depressed that they will stay home.
The latest foray into self-destruction is the latest version of a "Balanced" Budget Amendment being put forth by the House GOP.  The Amendment allows those in Washington to spend however the hell much they want, and removes the two-thirds supermajority vote to raise taxes. They have handed Obama and the Democrats a gift with this crap.  Already the White House is coming out in opposition, knowing it will play well with the media, and hurt the GOP. Dunces!
It is supposedly a means to get spending under control, but it will only lead this, and future Congresses, to spend as much as they want, and raise taxes in order to bring the budget into balance.  But what if they cut spending? Not going to happen. When was the last time the Government actually made any real cuts? When government says they are cutting spending, it is always a decrease in the amount of money they have already projected they would spend - what they call baseline budgeting.  They never really cut any spending - only a decrease in the projected increase.
To my conservative friends around the country: We need to primary as many of these "establishment" turncoats as possible, and get rid of the weepy Boehner, spineless Cantor, as many of their minions as possible, and put new "conservative" leadership into the GOP House and Senate.  We have the numbers in Congress.  Now we need cojones.

GOP House Will Vote on Balanced Budget Amendment That Permits Unlimited Federal Spending

(CNSNews.com) – House Republicans are set to vote later this week on a balanced budget amendment (BBA) that would not cap federal spending as a percentage of GDP or require a supermajority to raise taxes.
Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said the vote would probably take place this Friday.
Cantor said that this version of a BBA, H.J. Res 2 -- rather than one that would cap federal spending, H.J. Res 1 -- was the version “overwhelmingly” favored by House Republicans.

Feckless House GOP Fail To Repeal 2007 CFL Law

John Boehner, bypassing the rules committee and bringing a bill directly to a floor vote, repealing a 2007 law effectively killing the incandescent lightbulb industry, couldn't muster enough votes to get the 2/3 majority needed to pass the measure.  If Boehner had had the bill first go through and pass the rules committee, which is Republican-led, the measure would have passed with a simple majority.  But, for reasons known only to Boehner and the House leadership (way to have his back Cantor!), they bypassed the committee and brought the bill straight to the floor for a vote.  By bringing the bill up, and suspending the rules, the bill required a 2/3 vote to pass.
This is the type of thing that drives me and many of my fellow conservatives absolutely crazy!  I mean, we know that the Senate is screwed up. But the apparent incompetence of the House Republican leadership is both baffling and infuriating!  You can't pass a light bulb bill?!  How in hell do we have confidence that you can go toe-to-toe with a truly vicious trinity of Obama, Reid, and Pelosi?  Note to Boehner, Cantor, McConnell and the rest of you weak-kneed, afraid of my own shadow GOP leadership.  These people play for keeps! They take no prisoners!  They're turning the country into Venezuela, and with a comfortable majority, you can't pass a bill so that we can keep making and buying the Edison light bulb?!
God help us.

Repeal of Light-Bulb Mandate Fails to Pass House

By RYAN TRACY

WASHINGTON—A measure to repeal a 2007 federal law that would push many traditional incandescent light bulbs off the market failed to win two-thirds support needed to pass in a House vote Tuesday.

A 233-193 majority of the House backed the measure proposed by Rep. Joe Barton (R. Texas), would have repealed a federal mandate that light bulbs meet certain efficiency standards by next year. But the bill was brought up under a procedure requiring that it receive two-thirds vote for passage.

The Feckless GOP House Leadership

While Congress was patting itself on the back for passing a continuing resolution, keeping the government steaming ahead, the debt continues to rise at unprecedented levels.  The Republican House leadership of John Boehner and Eric Cantor has proven to be as impotent as any in recent memory.  Even with the majority, they have become the Boehner Waffle House (h/t to Mark Levin). After having promised to cut spending by $100 Billion, they retreated to $61 Billion, and now $6 Billion. Excuse me if I'm not impressed with leadership(?) that is impressed with themselves over cutting spending from the current $3.7 Trillion budget by less than 1%.  Instead of standing their ground, the feckless GOP leadership is attacking the Tea Partiers as "right-wing extremists".  Apparently, calling for responsibility in spending and demanding that our representatives return to following the Constitution is now considered extremist.
Saying the right thing at election time is not going to cut it anymore.  These establishment Republicans are showing their true colors when it counts most - when the opportunity to really hold the line against spending and ObamaCare presents itself, they go into full retreat mode. This will be remembered on primary day and general election day.  When the Tea Partiers show up again in 2012 and sweep out even more of the RINO's and usher in another wave of conservatives, the weepy Boehner can go on T.V. again and give another of his emotional speeches.  This time he can cry me a river.

U.S. Debt Jumped $72 Billion Same Day U.S. House Voted to Cut Spending $6 Billion

Wednesday, March 16, 2011
By Terence P. Jeffrey

(CNSNews.com) - The national debt jumped by $72 billion on Tuesday even as the Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives passed a continuing resolution to fund the government for just three weeks that will cut $6 billion from government spending.

If Congress were to cut $6 billion every three weeks for the next 36 weeks, it would manage to save between now and late November as much money as the Treasury added to the nation’s net debt during just the business hours of Tuesday, March 15.
