Florida Judge Defers To Sharia Law in Ruling

Posted by Brian

Each justice or judge of the United States shall take the following oath

or affirmation before performing the duties of his office:

"I, ________, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice

without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the

rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform

all the duties incumbent upon me as ________ under the Constitution and

laws of the United States So help me God.

28 USCS 453:

Solemn Oath of Justices and Judges

For those of you who think that it can't happen in the United States, let me throw in a little reality check. A Florida Judge, hearing a case between current leaders of a mosque and former trustees of the mosque over who controls the funds in an eminent domain. The current leaders wanted the case heard in a secular civil court. The former trustees want the case decided by a sharia court. A slam dunk case for the current leaders and the judge to decide right? Well, apparently for the judge it was. He decided that the matter should be handled under sharia law! Read judges ruling here >This is the danger of liberal activist judges who rule, not based on their oath to uphold the law according to the Constitution and U.S. laws,  but on how they feel or their own personal beliefs.  This judge should not only be impeached, but disbarred.  Hopefully the people of this county in Florida will take action against this judge.

Activist judges who rule based on their own personal beliefs are the exact reason why we end up with no consistency in the courts.  I can stomach a judge who comes to a decision I disagree with when they actually use the Constitution as a guidepost to buttress their decision.  We can agree to disagree on our interpretations of what is written.  But when a judge completely ignores, or references things that are nowhere in the Constitution (as in Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas' opinion that the absolute right to privacy can be found in the "emanations and penumbras"of other Constitutional protections.).
This judge in Florida completely ignored the U.S. Constitution and laws in this decision.  As such, he has willfully violated his oath and should be removed.

In Tampa, Florida, a dispute arose over who controls the funds a mosque received in 2008 from an eminent domain proceeding.
Former trustees of the mosque are claiming in court they have the right to the funds. Current mosque leaders are disputing that claim.
