"Property rights of millions of Americans would be at stake”
EPA says taking over private property will benefit the economy
1:35 PM 12/09/2013
Can the EPA run your property better than you? The Environmental Protection Agency says that its proposal to extend its regulatory powers over wetlands and waterways would produce economic benefits.
Republican lawmakers warn that the agency is trying to extend its power to regulate private property.
The EPA’s rule would redefine the term “waters of the United States” to include all “tributaries, regardless of size and flow, and all lakes, ponds and wetlands within a floodplain” reports E&E News. Other bodies of water, “such as geographically isolated wetlands, would have to be shown on a case-by-case basis to have a significant chemical, physical or biological effect on larger waterways downstream — a major point of concern for environmental groups” E&E added.

The Mind Of A Statist: Not Raising Taxes Equals More Government Spending
Posted by Brian
"Society as a whole is more and more splitting into two great hostile camps, into two great classes directly facing each other: Bourgeoisie and Proletariat"
"...the theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property"
Karl Marx - The Communist Manifesto
This is how a statists' mind works. The fruits of your labors, what you EARNED, is really not yours. It belongs to Barack Obama and the Federal Government. They, who have nothing to do with creating wealth, tell you that your labors belong to them. This is not to say that there should be no taxes. The government needs money to operate, and to perform those things which are spelled out in the Constitution. But he is not talking about what it takes to operate the government, he is talking about confiscating huge amounts of wealth from the producers to fund a leviathan that now operates way outside what is constitutionally mandated. This is about the government inserting itself into every aspect of your life: what light bulbs you can use, how much water is used to flush your toilet, how much salt restaurants can use, to what food you can send your child to school with. For homeowners: Do you really believe you OWN your home? Try not paying property taxes and see how long it remains yours. You can pay off your mortgage, but the property tax is forever.
This is what a soft tyranny looks like, and Barack Obama speaks and uses the words of every other dictator in history. No, he is not a dictator. But he is using the same terms, phrases, and arguments as other dictators. He is pitting rich against poor, race against race, and special interest groups against special interest groups. He uses the language of Marxism and collectivism, dividing us into groups and classes.
Tyranny is here. How far we let it go is up to us.
Obama: Not Raising Taxes Is a Form of Government Spending
By Fred Lucas February 13, 2012
(CNSNews.com) – Announcing his budget plans for fiscal year 2013 in an address at Northern Virginia Community College in Annandale, Va., President Barack Obama characterized the current income tax rates--signed into law by President Bush a decade ago--as a form of government spending.
Essentially, the president said that the federal government "spends" when it does not raise taxes.
“Right now, we’re scheduled to spend more than $1 trillion more on what was intended to be a temporary tax cut for the wealthiest two percent of Americans,” Obama said. “We’ve already spent about that much. Now we’re expected to spend another $1 trillion. Keep in mind, a quarter of all millionaires pay lower tax rates than millions of middle class households. You’ve heard me say it: Warren Buffett pays a lower tax rate than his secretary.”

SUPREME COURT JUSTICES ‘BLAST’ EPA FOR TELLING IDAHO COUPLE THEY CAN’T BUILD ON ‘PROTECTED WETLANDS’
Posted on January 9, 2012 at 8:58pm by Becket Adams
Several conservative members of the Supreme Court criticized the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Monday for heavy-handed enforcement of rules affecting homeowners after the government told an Idaho couple they can’t challenge an order declaring their future home site a “protected wetlands.”
Justice Antonin Scalia assailed the “high-handedness” of the environmental agency when dealing with private property, and Justice Samuel Alito described some of the EPA’s actions as “outrageous,“ arguing that most people would say ”this kind of thing can’t happen in the United States.”
The EPA said that Mike and Chantell Sackett illegally filled in most of their 0.63-acre lot with dirt and rocks in preparation for building a home. The agency said the property is a wetlands that cannot be disturbed without a permit. The Sacketts had none.
