ABC, NBC Rewrite History to Bash Reagan During Mandela Coverage

Posted by Brian

Sometimes, it's not what you say, but what you don't say that is important.

NBC's Andrea Mitchell spoke of President Reagan's support of the South African apartheid regime, and of Congress' override of his veto to impose economic sanctions on the regime. A similar story was relayed by human rights attorney Gay McDougall, who stated "Americans took a stand against Apartheid and said no to our government, when Ronald Reagan wanted to solidify, you know, U.S. support for Apartheid."

But that is only part of the story, and the part they leave out (intentionally, I believe), is eloquently communicated by Joel Pollack, who is actually from South Africa:

"The ANC [African National Congress] remained banned in the country [S. Africa], but its military wing continued to operate within Southern Africa, with assistance from the Soviet Union. The decision to align with the Soviet Union would later haunt the ANC, as it alienated the United States and Great Britain, which were otherwise inclined to support the anti-apartheid movement (and did so, albeit in limited fashion). While Mandela was in prison, the Soviet-trained leaders of the ANC's army committed human rights abuses in military camps outside the country, and used terror attacks on civilians inside South Africa."

(Hear Joel Pollack's discussion with Mark Levin on the life of Nelson Mandela.  An excellent piece, and well worth the time to listen.) (H/T to Right Scoop)

This places the story in a whole different context to that which people like Andrea Mitchell, Gay McDougall and others on the left would want you to believe, especially about someone they so readily despise, like Ronald Reagan.

NBC and ABC Bash Reagan as Pro-Apartheid During Mandela Coverage
By Kyle Drennen | December 6, 2013 | 12:03

Amid the tributes looking back at the life of former South African President Nelson Mandela following his death on Thursday, Friday's NBC Today and ABC's Good Morning America both managed to take shots at Ronald Reagan for not being supportive of Mandela during Apartheid. [Listen to the audio or watch the video after the jump]

On Today, chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell proclaimed: "The U.S. wasn't always on Mandela's side. In the 1980s, President Reagan supported the Apartheid regime, a cold war ally, even as protests broke out on college campuses across America demanding that the U.S. punish the regime....Finally, Congress, including key Republicans, overrode Reagan's veto, imposing the economic sanctions that helped break the Apartheid regime."

Media's Benghazi "Right-Wing Witch Hunt" Meme Ignores Whistleblower Is Dem, Voted For Obama Twice

"Right wing"? Whistleblower Gregory Hicks is a registered Democrat who voter for Obama twice.
NBC spiked story identifying Benghazi whistleblower as Democrat, Obama voter
MAY 12, 2013BY: JOE NEWBY

According to Victoria Toensing, attorney for Benghazi whistleblower Gregory Hicks, her client is a registered Democrat who voted for Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Toensing said she told NBC, but the network spiked that part of the story, WMAL reported Saturday.

"He voted for Hillary in the primary and Obama twice,” she told Newsmax's Steve Malzberg. “NBC spiked the story where I told it before the hearings.”

“It’s just amazing what the press is still trying to do to cover this up,” she declared. “So they try to make this partisan because of the lawyer. Well I’m not the messenger, he’s the messenger! The modus operandi is to find anything they can do to just attack,” she added.

Benghazi whistleblower Greg Hicks told to take desk job or be terminated Toensing said she gave the information to NBC's Lisa Myers for a story set to run on Wednesday -- the day before his testimony.

Chicago Teacher Union Marches With Marxist Organizations On Veteran's Day

Posted by Brian

That the Marxists have infiltrated the unions and the educational system is by now a known fact to those who pay any attention at all to this kind of stuff.  But to many Americans, this is just conspiracy nut talk.  Why wouldn't it be?  The media actively suppresses any mention of what groups are involved in "teachers" strikes, protests, and "learning conferences".
Listen to the NBC reporter speaking of a recent march in Chicago, and the story is of "teachers and parents" marching for "better contracts" and "looming school closures".  Nowhere in the story is it mentioned that there were barely any teachers participating in the march, and that the vast majority of the marchers were actually from the International Socialist Organization, members of ANSWER, and other Marxist groups.  It was also omitted that this march took place the weekend after the International Socialist Organization Midwest Marxism Conference , a "training" forum for teachers held at Northwestern University.
Amazingly, or maybe not so amazing, is that the reporter was virtually uninterested in this back story to the march.
Of course, I'm just a right-wing McCarthyite trying to bring back the "Red Scare" of the '50's. Move along.  Nothing to see here.

NBC REPORTER HIDES CHICAGO TEACHERS UNION MARXIST TIES, CALLS BREITBART 'FULL OF SH**'
by REBEL PUNDIT  14 Nov 2012, 4:03 AM PDT

On Saturday, Chicago Teachers Union Vice President Jesse Sharkey participated in the International Socialist Organization Midwest Marxism Conference at Northwestern University. Much of the conference focused on the successful intervention and assistance by the ISO to the Chicago Teachers Union during the recent strike this fall.

On Monday Jesse Sharkey and the members of the International Socialist Organization and Party for Socialism and Liberation, along with Action Now (the new ACORN), lead a protest march in downtown Chicago. After Mr. Sharkey refused to answer any questions regarding his participation in the event, I asked NBC 5 Chicago's Charlie Wojciechowski, if he would question the CTU VP at the socialist lead teachers march.

NBC's "Dewey Defeats Truman" Moment, Posts Obama Win Before Election

NBC! Don't look now, but your bias is showing!

OOPS: NBC ACCIDENTALLY PUBLISHES ELECTION RESULTS SHOWING OBAMA WIN
Posted on November 5, 2012 at 3:27pm by Jason Howerton

MSNBC* apparently published a test-page for Tuesday’s election results by accident, calling the election for President Barack Obama, Politico’s Dylan Byers reports.

While the “Presidential results” show GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney winning the popular vote 55-43 percent, the chart shows President Obama winning the election with 280 electoral votes to Romney’s 257.
